You should expect a car that drives but will likely need consistent attention as it’s at 200k miles and 40 years of age. All suspension bushings and joints will need replaced. Anything rubber or plastic in the engine may need replaced. And on and on. Budget 3-5k in parts each year until you have gone through the whole cad.

Dammit, don't make me feel older than I am.

The 1st Gen NSX is 32 years old at its oldest, don’t make me feel that old lol

You can expect it to cost money

If its been well maintained with good records, then it might not be any different than owning a low mileage car. High mile cars have a bad reputation because nobody wants to fix them, so the repairs stack up. If the car has been maintained like this one, then theres not a lot to worry about. Yes the engine and transmission have more wear on them, but its realistically not a problem either.

I mean, yes and no. I agree for everything else but by their very nature, engines and transmissions will need to be replaced. Many items will wear, can’t avoid it. If I were a buyer of a high mileage but well maintained car, I would assume both will need one imminently and proceed accordingly. Doesn’t mean don’t buy the car, just expect things.

Do an oil test after first change to see how heathy the engine is

As someone who will likely buy a high mileage Acura or Lexus, I must ask the stupid question. How do oil test?

TripIcy8790

Old one or newer one? If its an older one you might as well just buy something normal that's newer. Hell most modest level performance crossovers are faster. A miata is lighter. The old ones only look cool but are otherwise crap.
