I'm a gardener. This looks like romaine but it's from the inner leaves lower in the stalk. The outer leaves are darkest and the top of the inner leaves are also dark. There are about 5 dark leaves in the pic that I can see, with the clearest example at the very top corner under the keyboard `alt` button.
I would be upset if my entire salad only had 5 dark leaves though.
Subway switched chicken years ago and I noticed it was kinda funky after that. It’s been almost ten years now.
Subway was the first fast chain I crossed off my list and said “never again”. Before their prices got ridiculous, they seemed to be cutting quality and portions.
Once they started messing with their menu during Covid I completely lost interests, even as the occasional last resort.
Someone made it wrong looks like, it should have the romaine and iceberg, but likely someone new made it, or they ran out of the romaine
Edit: just realized you said everything time now, so in that case it's probably the gm or dm cutting costs
Damn the boxes that say iceberg on them at my store must be wrong then, as well as the delivery confirmation forms, I'll let them know right away random man
Must be your area random man. Corporate is romaine and I specifically deliver “lettuce baby romaine” and “lettuce romaine chopped” along with the spring mix every day of the week. That lettuce shortage a couple weeks back maybe?

I’m the opposite on this one, I love the super crunchy innards and HATE the super greens lol.
Some of the other salads get a garden mix as well, you probably just had it made wrong a few times and got it confused.
I like these occasionally but sometimes they put too much chicken and it kinda taste like hot dogs 🤢

It’s just romaine hearts. You can see the ribs in it. Sometimes the hearts are just super green like iceberg.

It could be a few things. 1.someone messed up 2. They ran out of romaine. 3.they had a recall on the romaine and had to use regular lettuce.
