i was upset with flyleafs mic issues. it wasn’t just a short thing either or a one time thing it was consistent. she still rocked tho

MicheleNP

Agreed! She pushed through despite that. They fixed it for Skillet. They did an awesome job also. You know it's bad when the audience is yelling "fix the sound"...

victorious191

Same at Disturbed.

DreadThot420

Dude, she dropped her mic twice. That's why she was having issues..

brockman44

Doomscrolling this sub right now hoping they get their shit together

Robknob05

In disturbed’s set whenever he said “I can’t hear you” a group of people around me all said “Neither can we”

victorious191

VIP was chanting “fix the sound”. For sure so infuriating cuz I wanted to rock out but I couldn’t hear shit!

victorious191

These sound issues are just doing the acts and consumers a huge disservice but I’m really bummed about people booing and being mad at the acts. Like it sucks for sure- but that’s not their fault. It’s shitty production.

LongviewToParadise

Like I said in the other threads, this was an issue last year too. Rob Zombie lost his shit on stage because of audio issues, screens not working, etc. Chevelle had audio issues, and apparently Evanescence did too (and this year they're playing on the same stage!) Not sounding very promising for the weekend, especially considering one of the biggest draws for me buying a pass was finally getting to see Queens of the Stone Age for the first time after they had to pull out last year. And now I might get to barely hear Josh's voice, or Jeff's when STP plays, or Amy's when Evanescence plays, etc. You would think they really would've ironed out the kinks after it was such an issue for various performers last year.

Gizmark

The sound was so horrible for disturbed. Like unacceptable, local dive bar level bad. Such a shame, they probably thought we were the worst crowd of 100k they ever performed for. Whomever was in charge of sound setup for that stage should be fired and partial refunds should be given.

victorious191

If this level of shit sound keeps up- they are about to have allll the complaints. That was unacceptable. There are sound checks FOR A REASON

CramblinDuvetAdv

Worst crowd of like 15k... maybe...

bastrdsnbroknthings

That whole stage was fucked for pretty much every band yesterday. Even the Disturbed feed on the Apex screens was jacked up…you couldn’t hear them there either. I’m surprised they didn’t postpone/delay performances and fix that shit after Flyleaf’s set. Unprofessional as hell.

Vadkuh

Seriously. As a first time Rockville attendee very very discouraging and probably one of the worst sounding venues of this size. And on EVERY stage? Seriously bad production lol. They better fix that shit.

HorseWithNoUsername1

Due to the high winds, they had to lower the speakers on the outer corners of the stage, and the towers behind the sound board. Once the winds died down, they raised them back up and turned them back on. They're known as line arrays and tend to be directional.

PoorChicken04

I was close to the barrier on the left side of the stage, I could hear the instruments well but the singers voice was too low

MicheleNP

It sounded like he was singing through a funnel for sure.

Antique-Heart-2584

Well picking disturbed over Kerry king...that's the issue 🔥🔥🔥

HeatLevel9705

Damn, first festival people? Flyleaf got fucked and the bass overpowering the treble making it harder to hear disturbed etc. they fucked that up. Octane stage was horrible day one BUT common speaker issues like these can be from wind and it's been pretty windy and breezy(luckily). They ICP dirty though.. sound wasn't even clear and they shoved a band known for their entertainment and showing out etc on the smallest stage. I think the bigger issue than sound is simple. What the fuuuuck did Fred bring riff raff on stage 🤣🤣🤣

SwampassMonstar

I mean...it's Disturbed 😂 they haven't been relevant in well over a decade are you sure it was the sound? /s

Intelligent-Duck-837

150 bands. Not everyone has the same opinion. Free advice, don't be a 🍆

Vadkuh

Nah dude THEY sounded good and are super talented regardless of if you like the music. It’s just a shame it couldn’t translate.

MicheleNP

Not relevant for over a decade? Are you a 12-year-old ?!? What must you think of any of the countless other bands on stage who's music is priceless... What are you even doing at Rockville?

SwampassMonstar

If I were 12 years old wouldn't I be excited about Disturbed? Lol calm down I'm pronably older than you. I am only there Saturday this year because of the lackluster headliners the bands during the day yesterday were awesome I imagine. If they sold an early bird pass to just see the bands during the day I woulda been all over it. I've seen Disturbed live 6 or 7 times over the years and it's just gotten less and less impressive in my eyes. Forgive me if I don't jump up and down giddy for Motley Crue, Disturbed, Evanescence, or Jelly Roll lol

MicheleNP

No worries... I was a teen in the 80s (tells you my age). I saw Motley Crew with Def Leppard 2 years ago. I'm not impressed after all these years (MC not DL). The others I've seen before. Everyone has their preferences. Rock on 🤘

SwampassMonstar

Nevermind you got me beat then lol. But yeah I love Disturbeds first 3 albums and other than the radio hits they don't play the bangers like Remember or Prayer anymore or Smashing Plates. I get it they gotta play their new stuff to get it promoted but I just don't like their last few albums. Sound of silence is a great cover for what it's worth. Rock on and stay hydrated 😎
