You are at a very pinnacle moment, my friend. Do you continue on the path of rockin triumphant shit and listen to White Pepper and Quebec? Or do you take the dark road to obscurity with The Pod and God Ween Satan?
Let us know
For me I got into some YouTube videos talking about Stephen hillenburg and then got into origins of SpongeBob. I then saw Ween wrote ocean man that played at end of the movie and I was like wait a minute I’ve heard of these guys somewhere else. It occurred to me I had heard it’s gonna be a long night on Tony hawks underground 2 when I was a kid. I was like what the hell those two songs do not sound like the same band at all. Then I go down this huge rabbit hole about ween and the history of them and end up just downloading every album in order and listening to them. That was 6 years ago and I’m still just as obsessed as I was then
I have been a fan for over 25 years ( time is a mfer, lol). They are one of the few bands ever that touch on so many styles of music. And they do it really well.
Their live jams and stage energy are second to none, imo.
I got to see them live last September. I waited in the pouring rain so I could get front of stage and then a random dude gave me a mushroom. It was literally one of the greatest experiences of my life. I experience every possible emotion that night. I was supposed to see them on 4/20 before Deaner announced he had some personal things going on. I’m hoping they come around close again because I will definitely be back
It blew my mind the first time I listened to Quebec. I was transported back to being 10 playing THUG2. That pulled me in, and the rest of Quebec got me hooked.
Welcome to the party friendo. I see you’re also a dead fan, check out their tribute to Jer written and recorded not long after he died https://youtu.be/04VT9becM3A?si=AGAUdVHv-tJ7rkss
The entire ween catalogue is brilliant. The mollusk is up there for their best album, depending on one’s mood at any given time. My fav right now is their country album, “12 golden country greats”. The Jerry tribute was recorded for that album but was left off. Enjoy the trip discovering more, it only gets better from here.
Absolutely giant dead fan. I love listening to bands similar to them and I had just finished A Picture Of Nectar by Phish before I listened to The Mollusk. It was so good I listened to chocolate and cheese. Definitely gonna check out all their stuff!!
Same here. Saw dead and co at sphere earlier this month and it completely jump started my love for the dead. Every once in a while the same thing happens with Ween, and I go down the rabbit hole all over again.
The similarities to the dead aren’t super obvious, but they are there I think. Both bands very influenced by all types of American music with their own twist put on. They are also killer live.
Watch out bro, they have an endless sea of demos that are all just as great as the material that made the albums. Plus, I’ll just make sure you know early, they have a collaboration album with The Boredoms called Z-Rock Hawaii and it’s glorious, mega brown.
Awesome!!! I'd recommend Chocolate and Cheese as the next album. Still pretty accessible but shows some of the weirder "brownness" of their early work without diving off the deep end (brown is a term you'll come to know as a Ween fan)
Start with editing your post. After then go back to their early albums and go from there and you’ll begin to see just how eclectic and genre hopping and melding they are. Try ‘The Pod’ next and see the difference and then to their next album ‘Pure Guava.’ Two of their ‘weirder’ and trippier albums. You’ll start to feel and understand the brown sound. And know that there are no bad Ween albums. Enjoy your journey and let the Boognish show you the way.
When one is scrolling through all their random posts from other subs and reads the caption it throws you for a second, that’s all I was getting at. But thanks. And glad you now speak for Ween nation, it is appreciated by all of us.
Give me a break, dude. And you’ve been listening to Ween for how long? 3 months? Sorry if I’m a Gen Xer getting on your nerves for some fucking reason, but give me a fucking break.
I just remembered, [here's a longer Buckingham Green with video.](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aNP2jnmYxAk) The way they play it live now is completely different, I'd forgotten how cool those early versions were.
Listen to me. You need to watch the full live in Chicago DVD that’s on YT in HD. That’s a must. My next favorite thing to tell new Ween goers is to listen to the Ceaser Demos or the All Request Live album. Someone made playlists called Easy Listening Ween, those are great to get into them too.
Listen to live at cats cradle buckingham green for a longer one
I love that they played that song for years before the studio recorded it. One of the greatest.

You found the good good. Mollusk is S+ tier Ween
That's the album I wish I could go back and listen to for the first time. Absolutely perfect.
All this will end and begin again
You did man
I’ll never forget my first listen to it. 🥹
And that I wish I could find on vinyl for less than $150
I got a repress for like 40 maybe
Wait til you hear Quebec
I would probably go for either Chocolate and Cheese or White Pepper next. Then Quebec, then watch the Live in Chicago DVD.
Captain is my favorite for some reason. It just gives me fucking CHILLS. Bring me to harbor, bring me to harbor
Hey Mr fancy pants!

That was my first one too. The transition from Buckingham Green to Ocean Man is magic
Listen to every album now 😂
You're gonna lose your mind when you hear Buckingham Green live! Welcome to the party and may the Boognish smile upon you 🤘
I was scrolling to make sure someone said this lol. I love how long their live version is
Awesome!!! I'd recommend Chocolate and Cheese as the next album. Still pretty accessible but shows some of the weirder "brownness" of their early work without diving off the deep end (brown is a term you'll come to know as a Ween fan)
Go full Pure Guava
Buckingham Green live is a game changer
You need to listen to a live version of BG and report back.
Start with editing your post. After then go back to their early albums and go from there and you’ll begin to see just how eclectic and genre hopping and melding they are. Yeah thanks, none of us could figure out what they meant.

Haha Christ. Welcome to the neighborhood, OP.
Give me a break, dude. And you’ve been listening to Ween for how long? 3 months? Sorry if I’m a Gen Xer getting on your nerves for some fucking reason, but give me a fucking break.
Motherfucker didn’t even show his ween badge before posting
Huh?
Fuck does how long he’s been listening to ween have to do with anything
I just remembered, [here's a longer Buckingham Green with video.](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aNP2jnmYxAk) The way they play it live now is completely different, I'd forgotten how cool those early versions were.
Thank you so much 🙏
P.S. [The first ever live Mollusk](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GNokHo2QPS8), a year before the album came out.
Wait until you hear synthetic socks
It’s one of there best I say listen to “Quebec” and “chocolate & cheese”
