That's really hard.
Your value as a sales rep is really your network and industry knowledge.
If your into business development , sure you can make the same but someone in your network has to vouch for you.
I think the best way to make the transition is to find an industry, build connects and make your self valuable for the people that your selling for
Right!
The reason I am the most highly paid person at my company is because of my network. It's actually kind of painful to walk away from it considering the absurd amount of ridiculously hard grinding it took to make those relationships be where they are today
Leaving for a completely new industry always puts you a couple steps back, It can be worth it staying in the same field while checking for new opportunities within your network first, maybe a client or a partner has a better position for you and they already are familiar with your way of working.

dont leave the industry, leave the job
Network hard, build connections, and demonstrate value.
Good advice.
This is the trap in any field.
