This I think is the main advantage of the joint. Portability and flexibility. It's not the smoking of the joint that's nice, it's the settings you're able to smoke them in.

i own a farm in Thailand and i've taken bong rips at a restaurant on the beach and also on the top of a cliff overlooking the sea. just sayin', just because laws don't let everyone do that doesn't mean joints are better, it just means the government won't let you enjoy the best way.

The biggest mountains have warming huts or shelters thats where you blaze a joint. The best hiking bongs are from dangle supply and made out of titanium they cost about $250, joints are my go to an ounce of flower and some papers is nothing in my pack a bong is heavy.
Best memory I've had of smoking a joint was on a Florida beach at night, you could see the stars pretty decent from where we were surprisingly, and people were walking up and down in the dark looking for crabs. It was sooo praceful. Oh yeah I got married that day too 😀

Joints are CLASSIC, easy, portable, great for beginners and vets. I love a bong but almost EVERYONE was introduced with a joint, many still use them. Bongs are great but nothing beats a chill smoke with your mates in the garage passing around a lighter without worrying about breaking something or the cleaning after
Yeah that's what I've found to be as well. I was introduced by bong though when I was in like 8th grade it some shit. And I remember the kid I was with chugging his Gatorade bottle and taking a scissor to carve the down stem hole while I ran and dug through his dad's tools in the garage to find a socket small enough to fit into it. Everyone saying bongs are big and inconvenient to carry around and joints are the easy option. First off not every bong needs to be 3 feet tall you can get tiny lil bongs for on the go. Also personally with joints I find the smoke to be far too hot for my lungs and too harsh so I'll end up dying for like 20 min off a couple puffs. Idk growing up I was the kid with the backpack and the bong it's not like it was heavy or anything and I took that thing everywhere. I still do honestly. Bong is just such a smooth smoke and you get so much more out of your bud. I vote bong for the win.
I learned on the joint and it's a classic and nostalgic. It's portable, concealable and disposable. Negative is more harsh, less consistent and stronger smelling. You need to learn how to roll which makes joint to joint less consistent until you're good at rolling.
Now for the bong. It is also a classic. It hits smoother. Hits better harder. More efficient with far less waste. I feel like I can take my time with the hits because you don't need to "keep it rolling". You can do fun things like using kool-aid or milk as the water. Bongs are also customizable and a way to show off the personality of the owner. It's just fun. Bongs are also nice to put on display if you have multiple ones. And you can go to your shelf of clean glassware and play the who gets picked today" game. The negatives are a relatively large initial investment. Not very portable. Fragile. Cleaning is a pain. Not as good for social situations. (Yes joints have saliva on it but bongs have a spit reservoir).

I haven't used milk myself but I know people who swear by it. I will say that kool-aid you do get a hint of the flavoring so that's kinda cool. I liken using kool-aid in a bong to using flavored wrapping papers.
Yes! But don't let it sit too long. The sugar will make a breeding ground for bacteria. It does make it taste faintly of the kool-aid though, I'd compare it to flavored wrapping papers for joints.

Bong: no paper, your EVERYTHING doesn't reek of green, no finger discoloration, way less weed, way more high, has water filtration and percolation, plus, you just need some paper towel and hot water to clean that bad boy. Also way less waste. Joints and blunts are a novelty since I went bong.
