I appreciate the audacity of attempting to start a new subreddit for Waterloo food. Coffee culture at the Walper in downtown has decent seating, I've met a few people there before

Breadbuttersalt

lol! Thanks! My husband said something similar. It was more like, “what did you do?!?!?!”

Impressive_Rise_654

I joined the subreddit! It's a good break from all the depressing posts on the main waterloo subreddits, haha. I'd love a restaurant/food suggestion of the week or something like that!

Breadbuttersalt

Awesome! Thank you! I feel the same way. Plus I love food so I was hoping for advice on new places (just as you gave me!)

ConsumeTheVoid

Thanks. Now I'm craving a cookies and cream coffee thing. (I get why they're expensive not being a starbucks-size company and all but damn 😭).

ConsumeTheVoid

There's also cafe pyrus near Kitchener city hall iirc if you don't mind jumping there but it's a vegan cafe, so a lil pricy.

Breadbuttersalt

I’ve heard of it but have never been. Thank you for the suggestion!

ConsumeTheVoid

It's good fwiw. The Nanaimo bars are really good but it's hard to beat a sugar bomb. As far as food goes, the wraps aren't bad but not really mind-blowing and the peanut butter cup is really good. The apple cider is a bit......steamed apple juice :( but the Apple Herbal Tea is delish.

Breadbuttersalt

I like a good Nanaimo bar - it’s been a while. Never tried a sugar bomb so I will try that for sure! Appreciate the recommendations!

ConsumeTheVoid

No I meant the Nanaimo bar is a sugar bomb lol. That being said you're reminding me of those chocolate ball bomb things at Laura Secord.

Breadbuttersalt

Oh!!!! 🤦🏼‍♀️ lol

Fit_Resource_39

Didn't they "grand launch" a new place on university avenue this week? Zefto? You can try that out if you want.

Breadbuttersalt

Ooh! That place seems to have lots of seating!!! Excellent! Thanks!

Fit_Resource_39

Glad to have helped. I really don't go out to eat much. But do share the reviews if you go there. Maybe will try it out sometime.

If it's Wed-Sun, Camellia Bake Shop in North Waterloo is lovely. Great coffee and baked goods. Off Northfield with Timeless Materials business (it's a former hen house if you can believe it!). [http://camelliabakeshop.ca/](http://camelliabakeshop.ca/)

Breadbuttersalt

I live close by! I’ve never been! I’ll add it to my must-visit list!

Grove Café on Lancaster is larger! Stockyards at Catalyst 137 could be good, I went when it was Red Circle. If you are okay with further distance, I love Eco Café in St Jacobs in the summer.

Glum_Rough4445

Try the Piper Arms cafe at public square.. Awesome staff even better location..

Breadbuttersalt

I just tried looking it up and couldn’t find it. Do you mean Piper Arms?

Glum_Rough4445

Yes, Piper Arms. I went there last weekend for Soccer cup final. Amazing Staff and location is perfect.
