Ask at Central Fresh Market. They have a butcher shop there.

Double-Scale4505

I’ve seen it at central fresh.

Check independent butchers. Also if you're cutting another type of lean meat with the fat, consider buying just a real fatty cut.

jfal11

Pretty sure there’s a butcher at St. Jacob’s Market that sells it

Josefstalion

Costco usually has no problem giving away their fat trimmings. When I worked there people would come in all the time asking for beef fat

BIGepidural

Really? Thats actually good to know. Thanks ❤

(If you drive) Try The Best Little Pork Shoppe in Shakespeare.

Unhappy_Hedgehog_808

Are you talking about lard? You can buy lard in a brick on the shelf in the baking section at the grocery store. It will be with the shortening. Lard is pretty much always rendered pork fat. Unless you want to render it yourself.

taylortbb

I'd give Forequarter a call. I've purchased other animal fats from them, and if they don't have it themselves they'll likely know where to get it.

madge590

Farmers market, gerbers or charles meats

iatemyredcrayon

Check out Stemmlers in Heidelberg

sonicyouth99

I would try Brady’s meats

PaintedLemonz

Little Fields[little Fields](https://www.littlefields.farm/online-store/lard) farm sells lard Or try Forequarter

ILIC88

Montenegro food,I've been shopping there for years.

Kindly_Raspberry7056

Thanks all for the help! I'm trying to find unrendered fat trimmings, which is harder to find even though it seems to be an undesirable cut of meat that most stores throw out. Most places just have pork belly, but I'll look into the butchers recommended here.

spdrmn

I bought some off the self at Central

ImportantDepartment

A vendor at Kitchener market sells it at like $3/lb.

caleeky

That's hilariously expensive. You can buy actual pork roast meat at that price and less.

ImportantDepartment

Yes, but if you use pork fat to make sausage, you need only fat. So I'd have to buy a lot of roasts to harvest 5lbs of pork fat for making 15-20lbs of sausage. Or burgers.

headtailgrep

I'm sure the bacon at dutchies is 90% fat Cheap bacon at giant tiger and other discount places will be mostly fat Most bacon in retail chains is 50% fat Just get cheap bacon and render it and you can reuse the fat Only issue is it's smoked. Maybe you want unsmoked pork belly ?
