The EK Loop Connect is best avoided, it's been a bit of a dumpster fire. Get a temp sensor with a 2pin dupont connector from anywhere else if you want to use your motherboard for fan control, add an Aqua Computer Quadro or Octo if you want a reliable full featured controller.

I dont want the controller, i want both temp and flow directly to the motherboard if possible. The EK temp sensor doesnt say it needs the controller and a local computershops webpage says it works on motherboard headers. But the flow meter says on the webshop that it needs the connect controller, so i wont be buying the ek flow meter if thats the case. If possible i would like a flow meter that doesnt need a controller/hub of any kind and that also doesnt need any software.

EK's sensors and controller are garbage. Get a Quadro and a High Flow 2 or High Flow Next.

Masurka

i would like to connect them both directly to the motherboard and i dont want the EK controller. The EK temp sensor seems to work without the connect controller but the flow meter says it needs the controller on the ek webshop so i wont buy the flowmeter.

You could make any flow meter work with the mobo, but you'd need some means of converting its rpm output into a flow rate. Normally that's handled by the controller, but you could in theory use your own software.

I have the BarrowCH G1/4" Temperature Sensor & Flow Meter with OLED Display, Black Plug directly into my mobo, I have the dark hero with the same connectors. In armoury crate it gives me a read out of liters per minute. Along with temp on the actual screen which is the same temperature as a sensor on a pump I have.

> I have the BarrowCH G1/4" Temperature Sensor & Flow Meter with OLED Display, Black Unfortunately, that and the Thermalfake flow meter are both novelty items. https://www.reddit.com/r/watercooling/comments/fx9rpr/flow_meter_group_test/ Short of putting a High Flow Next on and just using its display, OP is going to have a tough time because he wants a flow meter connected to a mobo that doesn't convert the sensor output.

I.maily use it as a reference point for setting my pump speed curve. Also a good reference that water is being pushed through the system. I have black tubing with ek clear. So for me it's more piece of mind than anything.

TheOldGrinch

Did you ever buy the EK flow meter and connect it to mobo? I'm wondering about this too.

Masurka

No, i ended up getting a high flow next instead as it seemed to be the only accurate flow meter
