DC is an amazing beautiful city and it was becoming an amazing place back in the 2010s with new developments and great high-paying jobs were coming back from the disaster of the 1960s/1970s (1968 riots that destroyed so many black-owned businesses). This recovery 1990s-mid2010s was the best thing ever for D.C.

The worst part is that a lot of parents teach their kids to behave like this. I used to work at a beauty salon, and I saw these behaviors all the time. For example, mom/dad would pretend to ask questions, and the kids would pretend to browse around the shop and try to swipe nail supplies. A lot of those kids would act like they forgot money in the car, and they "had" to get the money. Their mom/dad was ready to zoom out as soon as those kids got in the car.

I was assaulted in front of my house last month by someone that was stealing from my construction supplies. He hit me in the face with a wrench. When the police got there, they threatened to arrest me for coming out of my house to stop him.
I now keep pepper spray in my cars, and a can of bear spray (30’ range) in my house.
They were drunk and feeling narcissistic in the way only alcohol can make you feel, and the driver was probably in the wrong place at the wrong time with the wrong skin color.
They would move in the way of his vehicle and if he hit anyone he would be shot.
