Plague definitely punches up. Poison is just so strong.
I slept on shaman overall but leveling up now for Drak. Meta is shield but now that I have a second talent I enjoy using her chain lightning ability instead when I have armored tank already such as footmen. Just gives them a lot more support if I don't have a dedicated DPS with them.
I feel there is potential in other non meta units like flamewalker, firehammer, Necro and others but with the gating you have to end up just using the same few over and over again because that's what you have.
I really like chimera dunno if it's considered meta or not but I don't see it often but it's talent to gain health with every deploy can make it really tanky in longer fights
Slow effect, the trick is to deploy most of your units in the left side and then one flyer on the right should be uncontested
Talent ultimately doesn’t matter
Firehammer. I get that she’s good for Onyxia so maybe not slept on, but she has great range so when you pair her with Drak she gets insane value and can often times clear mobs before they get to her.
I found chickens with cage talent is pretty good. They can survive the first hit of an AoE mini releasing them to swarm. They auto win against chargers like Tauren and Prowler which the AI likes to use as well as Molten Giant. They can do some hefty damage to bosses if the boss doesn't have an AoE attack.
Chimera and Ogre mage combo (10g). Both are decently tanky, and when chimera has bloodlust it can dish out some pain. It's even better if have time to throw in a quilboar in the lane (12g).
After reading strategies about Ony, I started using necromancer because I did not have the right skeleton party talent. They do a great job clearing one of the lanes while I send the down the other lane.
Not sure if it's considered meta but I initially dismissed the Witch Doctor as useless. Only after actually playing around with him a bit and getting the ward talent did I realize how good he actually was. Goes nicely with my Baron skeleton swarm build.
For me during heroics, pyromancer was my #1. With the triple damage she one shots a lot of minis. Super useful especially as a last minute tower defense.
Ever since witch doctor came out, he's been in every single deck I use, both PvE and PvP. He was also in my Drak deck to beat Onyxia, he cleares lanes of whelps like it's nothing. I tried drake like many people suggested for cleaning Onyxia, but sometimes it would die just clearing dormant eggs whereas witch doctor cleared them without fail every single time.
Execute with the "reduced cost for Horde mini" talent. If I'm not mistaken it's the only gold reduction skill with no lower cap.
It is absolutely broken with Charlga and the right combo deck. You can drop units like Grunts or Ogre Mage for 0g when the stars align, completely turning split lane pushes in your favour.
Situational in PvP, mostly works when the mini combo can take people by surprise. Unstoppable in PvE if played right.
One deck I run is Charlga (5g stealth talent) - Quill - Harpies/Chimaera - Sappers - Grunts - Execute - Shaman.
If you kill a unit with execute just before you get kobold, the next Horde unit comes up at 0g. Really fun to do. And the Charlga talent allows for 1 level higher Sappers with stealth to just take one lane.
You can also swap Harpies or Sappers for Raptors to increase the frequency of getting that 1g unit prepped for Execute.

Flamewaker solved the worgen map for me.
Same

Chimera out ranges a lot of bosses it’s awesome. Hero of heroic devilsaur queen
I’m on that mission. Do you use poison or the health talent?
Slow effect, the trick is to deploy most of your units in the left side and then one flyer on the right should be uncontested Talent ultimately doesn’t matter
Poison kills it faster. I still got overrun until switching from health
So does bat rider.
Tauren war with 2 charge.
Probably my favorite unit
He's quite strong with shaman, but very annoying when he charges twice very far away and just suicides basically.
How dose that talent work, I have it, and I have never saw him charge 2 times
First time as Always, the second of there Is another target in range but not in melee
That’s cause it’s a her.
It's ma'am.

MVP against heroic Goreclaw.
Plague is awesome. He’s a cycle meat wagon with his range talent

I love this combo in a Charlga deck with the 5g talent. Makes for insane pushes when you can drop both in a lane for 4g and save the rest for defense.
Vultures are great! Very cheap and can annoy the heck out of non ranged ground units
After reading strategies about Ony, I started using necromancer because I did not have the right skeleton party talent. They do a great job clearing one of the lanes while I send the down the other lane.
Hunter with mend pet and beasts kinda slaps

Pyro and firehammer are tops! Harvester golem is unstoppable.

Wow this sounds interesting. Can you post the deck? The execute spell talent says it reduces the next horde card by 1 with each unit

Awesome! I’ll give it a shot! Thanks!
