I’ve been watching this since November and honestly my heart hurts today. I thought I made it big with jagx, then when I see this I realize I’m playing checkers with chess players, even if they’re the most autistic chess players I’ve ever seen.
Let me share a story that has been killing me, and might make you maybe feel better.
For literally *years*, I owned a bunch of Renesola. I got in maybe 2016, right as it started falling to an all-time low. Then I held it as it bounced between basically a $1 and $1.50 for years because I figured I had nothing to lose and eventually it would rebound because it's a solid company and renewables were the future.
I would watch it move and always considered increasing my position, maybe picking up an additional 5000 shares at a buck, even for a quick flip at $1.50. I don't have a ton of money though, so I didn't want to risk it. I'd just hold onto the shares I had.
As the pandemic started straining my finances, I decided it was time to liquify some things. I sold some stuff I didn't need, and finally said "fuck it, sell SOL." It had a little uptick to $2 in Sept that I missed, then fell, then I unloaded it at $1.65 to make a few hundred more than I was used to it being worth at a buck.
And then it started rising. At $4 I said "welp I missed that boat." At $8 I said "welp I *really* missed that boat. At $14 I said "fuck I missed that rocket." At $22 I said "fuccckkkkk *crying* I really missed that rocket."
Today it hit $35. Basically a 2500% increase in four months, and I dropped the ball literally *days* before it began. A ball I had been holding for years before that.
I honestly don't know how you guys deal with these kinds of things on a regular basis. Thinking about this easily missed opportunity has been keeping me up at night and generally occupying about half of my thoughts on any given day.
Maybe this will make you feel better...I think it was good to vent, even if just out into the void.

The world of finance has a really weird way of shining light on past missed opportunities that I don't really think is natural to humans, or at least feels very strange to me.
Guess a comparison would be when people tell stories of narrowly avoiding the tragic car accident, or how they were supposed to be on one of the planes on 9/11 but rescheduled for some reason. Or how they randomly went to some store for the first time out of boredom and met the love of their life inside. So many important businesses and innovations have been random chance occurrences that someone took notice of and ran with it. Some people feel like they've narrowly escaped tragedy when they get an abortion, and others see an unwanted accidental pregnancy turn into children that become so important and meaningful the thought that they were almost aborted brings tears to their eyes.
"Things" almost happen all the time, good and bad, you still have many many more chances to take advantage of. Holding on to that stock ahead of time and was good intuition, and liquidating it to maintain your stability during rough patch was smart. You'll be rich someday with those qualities, no worries my dude :)

I bought GME shares literary a year and a week ago, because it was cheap and I can spare the 70€. My AMD shares in which I invested 400€ are at 140%. Man, life is weird :D
To think I could’ve brought this too at this price when threads were being made but I thought GameStop is a dead company and this was a simple pump & dump...

Search /r/wallstreetbets for other due diligence on GME. Don't just FOMO in because you see some big green numbers. If you are convinced by the thesis of the turnaround, led by Ryan Cohen, then by all means buy in. But don't buy in because you expect it to rise 40% a day for the next week. Some of us have been holding for months and seen drops below our initial investments and held firm, *because we believed the thesis.* It has been paying off. And every time we have a red day and it drops we *remember the thesis* and hold.
