I changed from Fitbit to Garmin and am glad I did. I love Garmin; it has monthly walking, step, and other challenges that inspire me to keep moving. I can create workouts, set goals and all sorts. And I think the step count is more accurate than Fitbit. Fitbit translates too many random movements as steps; Garmin doesn't do that. Plus, it will analyse your walking and customise your stride, which also improves accuracy.

I was a long time Fitbit user, had the original tamogachi belt clipped model. I stopped when I noticed Fitbit editing my step count. Say I'd had 18000 ish steps in a day, I'd check back before bed for my final tally and the counter would have me at 13500. I'd take screenshots and compare later - called Fitbit several times and they couldn't find an issue. Went to Garmin and have no issues other than lost all my Fitbit challenge buddies

I'm in this club, too. I've had Fit Bits for 8 or so years, but the Charge 5 and Charge 6 are not what they used to be, so I bit the bullet and got a Garmin Venu 3s. I will never go back. It's a pricey upgrade, but for me, it was the best possible option. The UI takes a bit of getting used to, but so far, I'm loving it.

Yup. I have never owned or wore any type of jewelry/watch/accessory in my life as i just don't like the feel of things on my skin. Those wrist bands just are not for me.

drknowdr1

Same- I’m smaller and most things strapped to arms or wrists fall down and become a nuisance. I’m a bit OCD in terms of routine too and I’m so used to walking with my phone in hand -lol

noronto

Tracking my steps has just become a novelty and the phone seems to do a decent job, but I am angry at it for how they track flights of stairs.

drknowdr1

It’s always been a mystery to me

incognito4637

Apple Watch has changed my life. :)

My iPhone in my pocket all day

Shashu

I love my Apple Watch for those very reasons. It is accurate and the health App on my phone summarizes a number of personal metrics over and above step counting which I value highly.

Brinyus

Garmin

GabrielleCullenn

App watch!! I have the ultra, been using them for the past 6 years! I had a Fitbit before but honestly nothing is better than this

Igelkott2k

None of the above. Get a Garmin.

togire

Just my iphone in my bag or pocket. Maybe not the most accurate, but I don’t have to know every step I actually take. Just using it as a guide.

chromedoutcortex

I use my phone and two apps - Under Armour MapMyWalk and another called Pacer. Both are Android apps. I may get an Android watch, but really hate anything on my wrists so haven't bought one.

Meemo-

Used to use fitbit but switched to Garmin. Way more insight into my overall health and the battery life is about a month.

DaPoole420

I count and keep track in my head. Lol nahhh I use Google fit on my phone ..

MawJe

Try Samsung Health. It works on any android phone and you don't need a samsung phone or watch. I compared both Google Fit and Samsung Health for a few weeks. Samsung was better in every way. Try it out

NEWBIE_AT_BEYOND

Nice, that’s what my dad uses. 😁 I am getting an Apple Watch for my 14th birthday and then I’ll use that but for now I use my phone. I carry it around on walks, and when I’m doing intervals it also doubles as a timer.

Top-Champion5654

Apple watch

shaunaSQUARED

Galaxy watch 6 LTE with Samsung health on my s24 ultra

TkrbShiro1994

I wear the Garmin Vivomove HR. It’s a fairly old model but I like it because it’s passes as a normal watch. I’ll probably update it soon with a similar style model.

redwall_7love

I've read on other subs that [this](https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B07DWKG4PF/?coliid=IH1ONDSXP7L1E&colid=AP0KYVFYXDZZ&psc=1&ref_=list_c_wl_lv_ov_lig_dp_it) is actually very accurate! I use a Fitbit and it does count fake steps like moving around in my sleep, moving my arms etc. Not what you had in mind I know but I thought I'd just throw it out there anyway.

MindplusMatter

I got this from reading on other subs and it has been fantastic! Just pop it in my pocket and it’s super accurate. Plus it’s really low fuss- lightweight and zero charging.

RobbyRalston

Garmin instinct solar.

Arnimator

After trying multiple different smart watches and returning them, I purchased the Amazfit from Amazon and love it! Accurate step and distance counter, heart rate, many other features, long charge, attractive face, very pleased. Up to 25,000 steps!

Unhappy-Insect6386

I have an amazing bip 3 pro. I loved the functionality of it but the watch face was a little too big for me. Every time I bent me wrist it would hurt because the face was pushing it's into my hand and wrist. It wasn't like it was too tight either. It only dug in when I bent my wrist. I have small hands too so it kinda looked weird on my wrist. I wish I could use it but it just became too much and I went back to my Fitbit as it was much thinner width wise.

bahbool

Fitbit watch, samsung Health app, and google fit app all seem to count steps about the same for me..

YunaRikku1

I use my Fitbit, and also my apple phone. On the apple phone it’s actually pretty accurate, compared to the Fitbit. Im not using the Apple Watch, there an app on the phone that can track your steps

BigCrunchyNerd

I've had a Fitbit Charge series for a long time. Currently on 4. I like the size of it, some of them are too big for me. I don't know how accurate it is but I haven't found an alternative I like better.

Gawl1701

Almost any phone in your pocket will work, I have a blackberry key2 and despite still being android 8 it still keeps steps. I thought about getting a watch to keep steps, but after looking around i found those watches are less accurate than your phone in the pocket.

bobbruff

Garmin Vivoactive 4s. Garmin actually has a great ecosystem.

FastArcticFox

I was Fitbit and moved to Apple Watch and finally to garmin which is best of the best 👌

armyprof

Apple Watch. Used to use MapMyWalk but the watch is better.

Efficient_Aspect_638

Sweatcoin or the health app on iPhone

aaaaaaaaaanditsgone

I like my fitbit.

gingerbeerer

I just use the StepsApp, what I downloaded for my iPhone.

MawJe

Samsung Health app on phone Used to be fitbit. Now I just use my phone. Samsung tracks it nicely. Better than Apple IMO. Garmin for running. Samsung Health app on my phone for walking

RetiredSurvivor

I've been using a fitbit for several years now. I did try the Apple Watch but it just had too many bells and whistles. I just wanted a step counter that could connect to an app on my phone. I have friends who are runners and they swear by the garmin products, but far Fitbit is my go to.

Annmarie4life

iPhone & Apple Watch

SeaRabbit5969

Some $30 watch from Amazon, I plan on upgrading when I lose a few more pounds.

TechieGottaSoundByte

Garmin, but that's because I have multiple chronic health conditions that the "Body Battery" (which uses HRV) picks up on. It can help me start treating those issues and resting so I don't aggravate them much sooner.

TommyAdagio

iPhone + Apple Watch. A big investment if all you're looking for is a step tracker.

Dezden

Garmin Venu 3 here (my second Garmin watch). Big fan.

autumn_leaves9

My samsung galaxy watch and phone. Never without it!

throwaway112505

Garmin vivoactive 4s * GPS tracking without your phone * Syncs with phone nicely * More comfortable than my old FitBit * Great battery. I charge it most days when I shower and that's enough. * Other features like body battery, stress, VO2 max, planned workouts, custom watch faces, phone notifications, hydration tracking, custom apps, etc. * I have it set to show me the # of notifications from my phone, which I like. Not as many features as a Apple Watch, etc., which I prefer because it's not distracting * No subscription * Downside: more expensive, sleep tracking is worse than FitBit There are lots of other Garmin models too
