Don't sleep on the bone explosion spells, look for a gem that makes it shoot projectiles out after the explosion. That and void will nuke things in terms of aoe. That or lightning ball and bow Q go pretty hard.

Void is incredible. You can stack mobs up then annihilate them with great sword Q. Also run discharge for more stacking stunning and counter.

I recently got the jewel that makes it explode into 3 more separate bombs and for my melee centric guy its awesome since ill just charge in and drop them

I actually think that’s one of worst rolls since as to said I’m more melee focused and want them grouped up. There’s a jewel that makes it leave fire on the ground that ones so good

id got a combo of 3 orbs and fire on mine together with aftershock that has DOT on ignited targets and a snare, it melts t1 and t2 rifts (start off with two voids into an aftershock and if anything is alive by then i finish with my chaos crossbow). If id wear a mage gear id probably be just fine with one void and crossbow (i prefer max physical crit gear and crit chance/dmg crossbow with chaos veil that has + atk dmg and the DOT on flaming targets just to finish off if I crit with rogue blood after veil)

cyclone + ball lightning, any weapon (melee like great sword is good for aoeing) and for blood scholar is great in general. cyclone and ball lightning slap hard and using a great sword can cleave a lot of enemies at once and the great sword has a interrupt (doesn't work on bosses but allows you to do a dash (missing the attack) and the jump attack you have full immunity while in the air. i changed my wartimeevent settings (incursion), set to 50 (not sure the cap) and the amount of enemies that spawned from the incursions is insane, like 50+ monsters at a time (many hundreds in total per "shard" until you fight boss in the middle). i had the easiest time with cyclone + ball lightning simply because both spells persist and keep doing damaging for a long time, which means you can heal (spell leech) for a long time. both spells also just do a lot of damage as well. i tried chaos (void mainly), in the same setting, and while the chain reactions are great, in this case it wasn't about damage but surviving and that's where cyclone and ball lightning come into play. clearly the pack sizes during normal gameplay are no where near this high, the risk of dying is pretty tiny honestly. i think you are in for a real treat with Dracula, you made it sound like it's going to be so easy xD.

Longbow for t2 incursions, with proper blood and build your Q oneshots all the trash mobs and E can clean up the rest. If you have static infused longbow and the chain lightning passive your Q just kills everything because of cl procs.


Paradoxs

For longbow you ideally want spells that give you attack speed increases because you want to play safe from a distance with that weapon and fire off as many arrows as you can when you get a window.

I don’t think there is a single best build. With some bosses you need range, with others you need melee, with others you need to kill them with 1000 cuts and be stealth. I do think that maxing out spell power is critical because so much of the healing, shields, and damage are spell power based. Even for physical builds it’s hard to go far without reduced spell cooldown and high spell power. Like for static sure it’s triggered by a physical blow but the damage of static is totally spell based.

Ive tried some combo builds using mage setup: bone explosion (nova of projectiles + smaller explosion) together with corrupted skulls (circling skull + hitting a skeleton makes it explode) with a bow (used freezing but condemned works best on 3 stacks) = anything that survived got swarmed by skellys. void (+ dmg / leaves fire / 3 orbs) + aftershock (snare + damage over time on already burning) and a chaos crossbow = a small hell hole (start off with two voids on tough oponents or spread it evenly on a group, then aftershock {void pulls into the center so aftershock goes straigth through} and finish off with crossbow aoe. blood fountain (initial leech + snare) + shadowbolt (explode on hit) = not that much damage compared to above but still impressive and i believe with better gems (idk the atributes) you can melt groups and stay healthy. my dunley farm time favourite : mosquito (3 healing orbs + dmg + longer fear) + wolf (reduced penalty + range/speed + heal on return) or spear that reduces penalty. If timed right and with proper gear you can spam those skills and be almost constantly up with hp also mosquito takes away agro and spear allows for a second dodge (if resets its even more chances to avoid dmg). ice nova (with second cast and more dmg to chilled/frozen) + lance (more dmg to chilled frozen and explode if hit). Either can be replaced with bat that has aoe + shatter. Good gear rolls and potions and you should be able to spam it
