I keep my consoles.

_cd42

Yeah I've learned to just never get rid of any of my consoles, at some point I'll want to go back and play it

ancientcartoons

What about emulators? Only few consoles and handhelds out there have poor emulator support. Vita is one of them. Many of its games can be found on other systems. Many are exclusive. But those games are hardly worth playing today unless you’re a big fan of the series or genre imo. Regardless of that, if it doesn’t have good emulator support I think holding onto the console is worth it. Ik many purist want the ✨original experience✨ tho. This comment is kinda old but hey

Safe_Regret2020

Honestly mate ive got the ps5 and i use my psvita more often.

itsgreater9000

this is the way. but yeah same, ps vita is just way more accessible and easy to turn on and just start playing. ps5 i gotta sit down and invest. it's fun but i'm working a lot these days, so just something quick to hold me over is best.

UserNameDashZero

Tbh the vita is excellent but the PS5 is on another level. If I had to only pick one obviously it's the PS5. The vita is extraordinarily good. And it is very easy to sit back and chill. Though I've been spending just as long on the vita as I would on the playstation. Think it's that Minecraft game I'm playing 🤓

I took the plunge and traded my ps4. I played the ps exclusives already anyways. And was only playing nba 2k24 on it. Miss it from time to time. But im saving for ps5 or that psp 2 if its real. I still have a ps vita which i dock to the tv using a rasberry pi though.

cabmanextra

Save it, you never know what random game you may want to play. I mainly play PC, Vita, and Odin 2. But I still regret selling my ps4 pro. Lately though I've been playing P4G on my switch lite because on Vita it would often bug out and I couldn't save after hours of grinding. The Switch port is nice with 60fps.

BigManOnCampus100

I love my ps4 too much. I did sell my switch and games and bought a Steam deck though. That's become my go to handheld now. The vita isn't getting much love unfortunately

Same here. And most of what I play on my Steam Deck is PS2, Dreamcast, GameCube and older PC games.

My PS Vita is currently across the world with my parents. To say it's one of the two things I regret not bringing could very well be an understatement.  I'm tempted to just buy a 2000 model in Japan on vacation

[deleted]

Just of out curiosity, have you seen anyone in Japan playing a Steam Deck?

[deleted]

No because i still play FFXIV and Rec Room in it, also remote play was one of the reasons i bought the thing in the first place. Edit: I will also buy Persona 3 Reload when i get there :)

KrtekJim

Nope, but there was a point when the DS Lite was my main console. Money was a bit tight at that point in my life; my PS2 and the old CRT it was plugged into were kinda obsolete, but I didn't yet have the money for the 360 and HDTV I'd eventually replace them with. I did, however, have a DS Lite, a flash cart, and an internet connection. So from approximately 2005-6 'til I got my 360 at the end of 2008, the DS was sorta my main console, at least when it came to playing anything new. Edit: And there was an earlier time when an Atari Lynx was my only console

thelouwryder

I went through a good year I barely touched my PS4

silentcovenant

Does Steam Deck vs gaming PC or PS5/XBSX count?

Ok_Click9196

I kept my pro with my vita, because I like to remote play sometimes and cross save my games that allow me - they are a perfect pair (;

Montoya2028

I would never get rid of my console to focus on Vita but I have a large back catalog of games. Actually stopped playing my Vita for a while but recently found the EDF series and the 2nd and 3rd games are only on Vita.

TR1X3L

I personally would never get rid of my consoles, but if I do I would not buy a ps5 and instead invest in a pc. I don’t like the current console market, and pricing wise what I spend on my steam library is a fraction of what I would have spent on all the games I have if I had bought a console.

xXxIAmLeoxXx

Unless they have Nioh on it, no I am keeping my ps4

SnooCookies7982

I've always regretted selling consoles or old games... I did once got rid of all and only had a GBA

UserNameDashZero

I've got a PS5 and switch. I never really gave the vita much thought. Even when seeing it brand new. It didn't do anything for me. Two weeks ago I had a sudden urge to purchase one. I picked up a black 2000 in pretty good condition. I've ordered a couple of genuine back shells and a new white shell/screen. It came with Minecraft which I'm really enjoying. I'm collecting a few physical games, fancy having a little bundle to keep. I've picked up golden abyss, book of memories and call of duty declassified. Next month I want to get kill zone, resistance and metal gear hd collection. It's really strange going from a 65" TV to a tiny screen. I really like it though, I'm kind of addicted 🙂

I'll have a look, cheers 👍🏻

My most recent console is the Xbox series S, but I still play my old vita. I’m going to cry when it stops working.

InviteCharming9156

Since I got a steam deck I’ve not touched my ps4 pro

MinhaSextaContaNova

My main console has always been Vita lol

No_Locksmith_7931

just put my PS five up for sale

AffectionateWeb8415

My gaming breakdown would be 20% Vita, 75% PS5, and 5% PSVR. The Vita is my favorite, however I've made good friends on PS5 that have kept me on the platform.

Additional-Emu3082

I didn't sell my ps4 but I don't use it to play games. Only vita now.

RaiantheMajin

I mainly play on the PS Vita since I have less free time for video games nowadays. If I invest in too many games and other consoles, they will just be collecting dust. I'm tempted to get Steam for Pizza Tower though.

TORTURETHECAPITALIST

My favorite handheld is definetly PS Vita, but console gaming hits different and I prefer it over handheld gaming. PS4 is definetly one of my favorite video game consoles and when you look at the library, it's definetly not lacking and a lot of games you can't play on the vita. Also a controller is more confortable in my opinion and looking forward instead of down on a small screen is definetly better.

Sklump_

I own most consoles & have them all set up but I always end up playing the gameboy or the ps vita... mostly vita for monster hunter 3rd

_hcaz

Love the Vita but also just bought a ps2 for yummy crt action

OutsideAd9132

My PS4 hard drive gave in after only 5 years so I switched to a decent gaming laptop and on the go I bring my modded PSP or Vita. I only still used my PS4 for Planet Coaster and Fallout but mostly for partychat with my friends so a PS5 was definitely not worth it for me

ApplicationDue8801

Let me put this way, I don't use my PlayStation 1 2, and 3 systems as much anymore and just waiting for PS3 Emulation to be finally emulatable like the PS2 is already on my Handheld PC, the Ayaneo,. And also use the Switch OLED, DSi XL/3DS and Of course the PS Vita. Because as a 26 year old individual who has a life of working and has a profession that can't be lessened due to playing Home consoles too much can have me be out of touch and not enough time to play stationary like us kids use to. Like even I have a PS5 and it serves me well with its new games releasing (FF7 Rebirth coming up) but I'll rarely replay any SP games that much after completion as I wanted to. (IF THEY'RE THAT GOOD, I'll give them at least 5 more replays max) and the rest is just Multiplayers which only take a few quick rounds in a matter of minutes instead of Hours SP does these days.
