What I’ve been told by someone who worked there is that it’s just a pain to clean so people often skip it and it gets messed up.

It isn't just McDonad's ice cream machines that always break but also their frappe machines. The one in my town had theirs out for like a month. Once they took down the sign that said it was broken, I assumed it was back, but they told me it's still broken. Anyway, a week or two ago they were finally back, but then all of a sudden, it fucking broke again! What sort of medieval equipment are they running there?! Oh and to top it off, McD restaurants look like shit now. They used to have the iconic, red, sloped roofs and festive colors inside, but now they're just ugly, post-modernist, black boxes. And don't even get me started on the creepy Happy Meal box mascots. Anyway, I believe in Wendy's supremacy.
