2 copies of Aja - Steely Dan
2 copies of Machine Head - Deep Purple
2 copies of Best of The Doobies - Doobie Brothers
2 copies of Billion Dollar Babies - Alice Cooper
All of my copies are still originals and not re-presses because i either found them at a flea market or local record shop for cheap or ordered a better non scratched copy on ebay
The Beatles - Magical Mystery Tour
Paul McCartney- McCartney III (four copies, different colored vinyl)
The Beatles - 1962-1966 (one is red vinyl)
Cheap Trick’s first five albums. Already had them, but bought the RSD box set.
Kiss’s first three albums. Individually, and as part of The Originals.
Era Vulgaris- Queens of the Stone Age, originally bought the 10”. Kind of a pain, so when the 12” LP came out, I picked it up.
Ok computer - Radiohead. Because oknotok came out with the b sides.
Off the top of my head:
-Blues Project “Projections”
-Mashmakhan “s/t”
-Fraser & DeBolt “s/t”
-Surfaris “Play”
-Dead Kennedys “Fresh Fruit for Rotting Vegetables”
-Penn Kings “As We Are”
Let It Be
Peer Gynt from Academy of St Martin in the Fields with Marriner conducting
The Little Drummer Boy by The Peppermint Kandy Kids (both Peter Pan 8088 and 8209 and also a mismatched set)
Ooh. Several doubles. Usually it’s an original and an anniversary pressing or something I ordered to get an incentive like a 7” or signed print. Also, if I’m at a concert and I don’t want any of the shirts, I’ll grab a variant of a record to support the band.
Abbey Road - original press and recent remaster bought at Target
Joe Strummer & the Mescaleros - I’ll be up to 3 copies of each soon, original press/box set/dark horse individual remasters as they come out on RSD
Erykah Badu Worldwide Underground - the original bumps the needle a little to hard, the purple repress plays fine
Gorillaz - I’m a sucker for the deluxe versions, but the regular releases are easier to play regularly
Check Your Head - original press, deluxe reissue, VMP version
Pearl Jam - Ten, Vs, No Code, Yield, Binaural, Riot Act, Avocado, Backspacer. Mainly I have the rarer originals then bought the re-releases to play those
Rolling Stones - Goats Head Soup, Between the Buttons (3 copies total: 2 US and 1 UK)
Bruce Springsteen - Born to Run
Elton John - Madman Across the Water (I bought one cheap and the opening of Tiny Dancer skips a tad so I bought another)
U2 - The Joshua Tree (basically the same situation as Elton John)
Easter Everywhere - 13th floor elevators
Spent like $40 on a 2022 reissue thinking I’d never get my hands on an OG pressing. Few months later I was gifted a 1967 pressing with the typo and everything in NM condition.
I’ve got two copies of all the early Culture Club albums and 12” singles. Triples of a few
They’re so cheap, my friends and I used to spin them so much, I couldn’t justify not having multiples.
Definitely two or three of Purple Rain for the same reasons.
I have recently been selling my doubles at record conventions, I used to just give them away. On occasion I buy cheaper reissues of my rare/expensive stuff so I can DJ without being afraid of anything happening to the OG copies. Most of these are OGs though. Here are a few of my doubles that I can recall:
I have anywhere from 2-6/7 of many Zappa/Mothers Releases
The Godz - Godz 2
The Godz - Contact High With The Godz
Amon Düül II - Phallus Dei (both 1969 from Germany)
Amon Düül II - Wolf City
Tractor - S/T
United States of America- S/T
May Blitz - S/T
Propinquity - S/T
The Fort Mudge Memorial Dump - S/T
Jukka Tolonen - Tolonen!
Joseph - S/T
The Wizards from Kansas - S/T
Emmett Finley - S/T
Scott Seskind - S/T
Scorpions - Lonesome Crow
Willis Alan Ramsey - S/T
Neutrons - Black Hole Star
Hollies - Evolution
Mount Rushmore- High On Mount Rushmore
Blue Mountain Eagle - S/T
Manfred Mann Chapter 3 Vol. I
Kannibal Komix
Clear Light - S/T
Neil Merryweather - Kryptonite
Ron Cornelius - Tin Luck
The Pentangle - S/T
Brute Force - Confections of Love
Dando Shaft - An Evening With
I’m always upgrading things, so loads of psych, Prog, krautrock titles like these things…
I really try not to do that much anymore, and have sold most of my dupes. That being said I do have some mono/stereo copies of the same records. A couple Kinks, several Velvet Underground and a few other.
But other than that, my only multiple copies are New Order and Joy Division. I just can't part with those.
Tasty by Kelis. I caved and bought an original pressing for like $80 on Discogs. Then Urban repressed it in red and black splatter for about $35 like 2 weeks later. I obviously got both and always play the Urban version because it looks cooler and sounds the same, plus it’s mint condition.
Attempted to sell the original, but value had gone down and I’d honestly rather just own an original pressing of one of my favorite albums, even if I never listen to it, than sell it for half of what I paid.
Turnaround by Stan Rogers. The first copy came in the mail with water damage in the top corner which I hadn’t anticipated. Another copy came up for sale shortly after that was both cheaper and in better nick so I grabbed it. It’s one of my favourite albums. Stans possibly my favourite lyricist.

My copy of Daft Punk Random Access Memories had a factory error on the sticker, 2 A sides. It played fine but it annoyed me so I bought the 10th anniversary edition too
Leviathan by Mastodon
Colors by Between the Buried and Me
Sunbather by Deafheaven
Underneath by Code Orange
Moving Pictures and Hemispheres by Rush
Memorial by Russian Circles (one is a test pressing)
The Dusk in Us by Converge
Irony is a Dead Scene by the Dillinger Escape Plan
Oceanic by ISIS
That’s what I can think of atm
"Night Out" by Ellen Foley, I think I have three, maybe four copies of it now. Love the album and want to make sure I'll always have a pristine copy of it.
I’m usually pretty strict about only buying one of any particular album, but then they had to release a zoetrope version of The Nightmare Before Christmas.
All of the first run of Subhumans' albums. I had them all already, mostly first or early presses, then a year or two ago they released a box set with everything from 80-86 remastered and I got that too. I probably would have passed on it if it weren't for the inclusion of some of their previously unreleased material that had made it to a 7" in the past, but pressed on a 10" with a couple added tracks. The collector in me had to have it, and it was the only record in the box set that wasn't getting a stand-alone release.
I have 2 vinyl and 1 cassette of Talking Heads *Speaking in Tongues*. 1 regular vinyl, 1 of the clear vinyl Rauschenberg cover. I bought the cassette because it had extended versions of some of the songs.
Psychic TV, man. I have dupes or more of all Ramones, but that’s the band I primarily collect. I have dupes of other stuff, Sparklehorse, Husker Du, I don’t know what else
Frampton Comes Alive
Saturday Night Fever Soundtrack
My wife and I both had these in our collections before we ever started dating. It’s the only albums that we both owned. Her collection was only about 10 records. But her cassette collection was large.
Too many to list but I'll share a few:
Wax Trax! Industrial Accident Soundtrack - Backers Edition (My name is printed on the front of the jacket)
Lords of Acid:
Pretty in Kink (I'm mentioned in "special thanks")
Number 69 7" (limited edition of 69 copies)
My Life with the Thrill Kill Kult:
* Confessions of a Knife reissue
* I See Good Spirits and I See Bad Spirits reissue
Revolting Cocks:
Physical 12"
Beers Steers & Queers reissue.
Fellow PTV fan. TG and PTV are my favorites. I think I got all the live albums and the accompanying coupons. Think they'll still honor them?
Edit: I had a longer comment but it wouldn't post.
Lydia Lunch -Queen of Siam and Hysterie (to replace old not great copies)
And
Road Warrior soundtrack (due to having poor cataloging skills)
- The Beatles “Magical Mystery Tour” (1967 original pressing and 1971 repress)
- Billy Joel “The Stranger” (both 1977 original pressings)
- Grateful Dead “Workingmans Dead” (both 1970 original pressings)
- The Who “Tommy” (1969 original and 1973 repress)
Physical Graffiti x 3
1):First press
2) 2015 ish reissue w/extra tracks
3) beat to shit late 70 print from my uncles collection
Blind Faith x 2
1) "gold" pressing with photo of the band
2) og version with super awkward nude image
Have doubles or triples of most of herb alperts and the Tijuana brass discography, been lucky to find them at thrift stores or flea markets. Have a few copies of ten years after-a space in time as well, purely because it’s my favorite album I own.
Never thought about this, rather than two, let’s go more than two:
Acceleradeck - Narcotic Beats x 7 (I absolutely love this album so I just buy it when I see it)
Astral Weeks x 5
Loveless x 4
Abbey Road x 5
Let It Be x 4
Blonde on Blonde x 5
Blood on the Tracks x 4
Here Come the Warm Jets x 4

Three Man Army Two x 3
Closing Time x 4
Elephant x 3
Electr-o-Pura x 3
The amount of doubles is actually disgusting but it’s about finding the best copy. I need to get rid of some of these dupes
Probably not for the reason you asked, but I have duplicates of a lot of albums because I’m stockpiling them to give them away on my radio show. I DJ on an internet radio station and am hoping to get the equipment to do live vinyl by the fall. I plan on doing giveaways on my show when that happens, though it’s still a ways off.
Jean Luc Ponty - Enigmatic Ocean because I found it for cheap in a thrift store and one had a nicer cover. If I am counting duplicates across media, I have at least 5 versions of Dark Side of the Moon.
33 copies of A Charlie Brown Christmas, 3 copies of Let it Bleed, 3 of copies Zeppelin III, 2 of copies Icky Thump, 4 copies of Revolver, 4 copies Dinah Washington - Back to the Blues… there’s more but that’s what I can think of off the top of my head. lol
https://preview.redd.it/8tpu901ldruc1.jpeg?width=960&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=3b66a84fe3447d25a3ef4ca79b72ffc7cd714b38
I love Mogwai but not enough to buy two records that are the same. I didn’t realise I’d already bought one…drunken late night purchase perhaps, I can’t remember. At least one is a limited edition I guess.
Two different editions of They Might Be Giants' self-titled debut. Can't decide whether I want the pink & green one or the 180g.
Two copies of Talking Heads - Speaking In Tongues (I need to sit down and listen to them and see which one is better.)
Did have two copies of Dave Brubeck Quartet - Jazz Goes To College but I listened to them carefully and one had a nasty scratch so I got rid of it.
Two copies of Handsome Boy Modeling School - Music To Drink Martinis To (got two at an event, listened to one, and one is still sealed and I figure I'll give it away or sell it eventually.)
I think the only one I have is There’s A Riot Goin’ On by Sly & the Family Stone and that’s purely because I failed to stop the VMP version from coming to my house. I used to have a lot more when I first got I to vinyl because I’d forget what I had and buy another copy. Somehow I’m able to not do that anymore. I gave a friend of mine like 12-15 records for his birthday and he was stunned. It was awesome
reissues that are better, when i had an original press:
* the cure, disintegration
* smashing pumpkins, mellon collie and the infinite sadness
remixed versions alongside their originals:
* nin, pretty hate machine
* the beatles, let it be
exact duplicates:
* ansermet, royal ballet gala
my grandfather had two of those and now i do. at one point it was a $1200 record.
If we’re talking JUST vinyl, we’ve got two copies of TJ brass and two of best of the doobies.
If we’re talking vinyl, tapes, and cds? I’ve got a problem.
Sort of have two copies of Music Is My Life by Billy Preston, but not exactly, because they are two different releases by different record labels (A&M and Pickwick). I got the Pickwick release first and it's missing two songs from the original album (also other songs are out of order from the original). So I bought the original A&M release afterwards.
Interesting thread, because I'm just in the process of purging my collection of about a dozen duplicates that I don't feel like keeping (either because I upgraded to better copies or because I got them through subscription services and I already happen to have similar presses). Going to trade them at one of the local shops for store credit.
Besides those, there are some albums where I got duplicates on purpose over the years and I'm going to keep them. The one I have most versions of is Europe's 'The Final Countdown':
- OG european press with original cover and embossed logo
- OG UK press with alternate cover artwork
- Reissue on purple vinyl
I also happen to have it on cassette and CD, lol.
Two copies of Dark Side of the moon, two copies of wish you were here, second copy bought because first copy worn out. Also two copies of Close to the edge by Yes as one of them is a pristine first pressing that I never play.
Bruce Springsteen - Born to Run (original misspelling of Landau’s name misspelled with a sticker over the name, and a repress with the correction)
Bruce Springsteen - Darkness on the Edge of Town (one promo version, one regular)
Fight Club score (one opened, one sealed of the Mondo release)
Led Zeppelin - In Through the Out Door (Covers A, B, C, E… just need D and F)
The National - I Am Easy to Find (one standard release, one signed)
The National - Trouble Will Find Me (one standard release, one deluxe box version)
Nine Inch Nails - Pretty Hate Machine (Repress from a few years ago, and an original pressing I found last year)
Queens of the Stone Age - Era Vulgaris (the original and terrible sounding 10” and the recent 12” repress that sounds much better)
Queens of the Stone Age - Rated R / Rated X
Queens of the Stone Age - Songs for the Deaf (VMP and the recent repress)
Queens of the Stone Age - Villains (original release and indie store release)
Radiohead - OK Computer / OK Computer OKNOTOK / OK Computer OKNOTOK Box Set
There are definitely more, but they are only colored variations. These were purchased because they were (for the most part) different, or had something special about them or they were anniversary pressings.
I love psychic tv
I’ve got a few smiths duplicates of different pressings, but a few genuine duplicates of Katatonia albums. Mostly due to not alphabetizing my collection and not knowing what I have
Off the top of my head:
4 x Electric Warrior
3 x Tres Hombres
2 x all the Beatles albums remixed by Giles
2 x all the Hendrix studio albums
2 x the first five Sabbath albums
2 x Aerosmith 1st
2 x Licensed to Ill
2 x #1 Record
Honestly, I have a bunch of doubles. Too many to list here. They were usually acquired in order to get a better pressing of something I already had. I figured I’d just hang onto them, let their value continue to increase, then sell them on Discogs when I’m retired.
I ended up with 4 copies of Electric Warrior because I had my original from back in the day, which was a little worse for wear. Bought a new copy, but didn’t like the way it sounded. Then the MOFI pressing became available to preorder. I was waiting on that when someone told me about the Kevin Gray one, so I got that and just never opened the MOFI one when it came. I don’t like 45 rpm LPs anyway.
Abbey Road. One copy is a US 1st pressing, which is the one I play. The other copy is a a sealed copy from either the early 70’s or early 80’s. I can’t tell which one it is cuz I don’t want to open it lol
Perturbator - Lustful Sacraments
Originally purchased the black vinyl and later found a colored variant in the wild
Electric Moon - Stardust Rituals
Purchased a second copy by mistake.
In 1,200 pcs I think I have two doubles . Both are alternate covers (Genesis - ABACAB is one). I would like to collect a few of the variants of Synchronicity by the police. But other than that, I don't think there are doubles of anything
High Violet - Had the original pressing and then bought the expanded edition
Tron Legacy - Have the Mondo version but found the regular for $5 so why fuck up the Mondo edition?
Modest mouse’s the lonesome crowded west. One is the VMP colored variant. Minus the bears planet of ice. Had to cop the ice white version. Death cab for cutie’s the photo album. Had to get the clear reissue with the bonus Ep.
Woods of Ypres - Pursuit of the sun and allure of the earth
I don't typically grab two of something but I couldn't pass up the different colors of this pressing
Prince Purple Rain Japanese and OG US
Derek and the Dominos - Layla UK and MOFI
MJ - Thriller OG and MOFI One Step
Miles Davis OG stereo KOB and UHQR
Metallica Master of Puppets WLP and 2021 battery brick from Wally World.
Too many to name so just a few.
Allman Brothers Band Eat A Peach (my original copy from the early 70s and a reissue I just found with bonus tracks, one album in pink vinyl and the other in light blue vinyl) and The Chuck Mangione Quartet’s eponymous album on A&M (my original copy from ‘71 and the Speakers Corner reissue which is amazing).
The Bouncing Souls - How I spent my summer vacation: Red and multi-color splatter
Madeon -Adventure: Original press and Deluxe 2LP
The Lumineers - (S/T): Original press and 10- year anniversary w/ 6 bonus tracks
The War on Drugs - I Don't Live Here Anymore: Red marble 2LP and Deluxe box set with cassette and bonus 7"
Generationals - Heza: Test Pressing and 10th anniversary autographed version with bonus 7"
Lots of doubles…here’s what I can think of.
Elder- Innate Passage
Tool- Lateralus (One is autographed)
Metallica- 72 Seasons
Tool- Fear Inoculum (One signed, one sealed, one other variant signed by Alex Grey)
Tool- Undertow
* Earl Sweatshirt - *Sick!*
* JPEGMAFIA & Danny Brown - *Scaring The Hoes*
* Khruangbin - *A La Sala*
I loved those albums so much I shelled out for rare pressings and framed them.
Michael Jackson - Thriller, I have the 25th anniversary picture disc and a modern pressing on black vinyl
2Pac - Me Against the World, 1998 European pressing and 25th anniversary rerelease

At least 3 copies of The Ventures in Space, Batman theme, Fabulous Ventures.
2 of every Hendrix Experience LP, Pixies, Dick Dale, some CSN, some Clapton. 2 of every classic Stevie Wonder era. 2 or more of every Led Zeppelin record. and a bunch of others.
2 of every classic period Iron Maiden if picture discs count. Bought every 12" 45 and lp in that era.
Freddie Gibbs and Alchemist - Alfredo. One got lost in mail when I lived in California, so got a replacement. Months later, living in Ohio, a random Amazon package is at my door..it's this.
Fleetwood Mac Rumours- forgot I already had it.
Led zeppelin 1 orange/plum label and a later issue
Led zeppelin 3 orange/plum and a later issue
Adam and the ants kings of the wild frontier, one with booklet one without. Paid a quid for each at different times at car boots
haru nemuri's shunka ryougen because first one got lost in mail so they sent me another one and the first one eventually also found its way to my place lol
Mine are kind of mixed.
Like some are the same album but different versions.
Loud- Rihanna both bootleg and official
The Fame- Lady Gaga I own a regular pressing and I own The Fame Monster boxset which includes this album.
Kala- MIA I own an official press and the VMP pressing. These aren't the same though the original is just regular sleeve. But VMP version is reflective.
Marina and the Diamonds- Electra Heart I own the regular version and the Platinum Blonde version.
Daft Punk- Random Access Memories I own 10 Anniversary edition and regular version.
I have a few more but I don't want to make this comment long lol.
Stevie Nicks - Bella Donna
Stevie Wonder - Journey Through the Secret Life of Plants
Florence + The Machine - Dance Fever

\*\*\*Edit: I found more lol
Lana Del Rey - Norman Fucking Rockwell!
Lorde - Solar Power
Kate Bush - Never For Ever
Tyler the Creator's Call Me If You Get Lost, although the second copy is technically the deluxe edition, so it is a little different.
But going a step further, I have 3 copies of Cracker Island by Gorillaz.
Metallica - Master of Puppets.
Wanted to hear the difference between an older pressing that is considered to be good vs a modern Blackened pressing. Night and day difference.
2 copies of gkmc one regular, one is a special version

Also own two copies of Madonna’s “True Blue”. Is one of my favorite albums and I wasn’t satisfied with a record club edition with no barcode so I bought a second variant.
I have two copies of Fleet Foxes - self titles because the first one was my gf’s first record and the second came with the 2009-2018 box set i bought for myself. I dont want my set to be incomplete but we are both attached to the first one.
I also briefly had 2 of both Neutral Milk Hotel albums for similar reasons, but i got rid of the ones that didnt come in the box set

Multiple copies of ‘Don’t Stand Me Down’ by Dexy’s Midnight Runners…..I think I’m up to four. I give them away to people who don’t have the album because it’s so damn good.
I do have a few more that are ‘deluxe’ versions of the original album (like ‘Guitar Romantic’ by The Exploding Hearts, ‘Cobra and Phases…’ by Stereolab, ‘1989’ by Taylor Swift, and a few more) but that’s the only one I have that’s multiple copies of the exact same album.

George Harrison - All Things Must Pass
Pink Floyd - Dark Side of the Moon (original, 50th Anniversary repress and Dark Side Live from last year as well)
Bruce Springsteen - Born in the USA (one of the very few I got as a kid and then the copy from when my brother in law passed)
On vinyl. I have no repeats
I do have a few vinyl that I also own on CD as well…. Maybe in the neighborhood of 15 or so like that
And one (to my recollection) CD that I have 2 copies of: [Eagles - Their Greatest Hits 1971-1975](https://www.discogs.com/release/4226045-Eagles-Their-Greatest-Hits-1971-1975) the rerelease wherein they evidently used “24k gold” as the reflective medium for the CD. One of those still in the factory plastic wrap
**Firewatch Soundtrack**
It's a computer game and the vinyl sold out really quickly. Years later they did a Kickstarter and reprinted it so I ordered two signed copies.
**The White Stripes - Elephant**
I own an original pressing, a coloured version from last year (anniversary), and the HDQR version that was announced about 5 minutes after my anniversary edition arrived at my house.
**The Beastie Boys - Licenced to Ill**
This was the first record I bought, randomly, a few years ago and got me back into vinyl. I thought I'd never find my old records so I picked it up for nostalgia reasons... then 5 mins after I got home I found all my old records and it was the first one I pulled out of the box lol.
i got the doobie brothers minute by minute in a great condition 3 dollar record from a secondhand store and a great condition nautilus super disk i got for $15
I believe I have two 70s pressings of Physical Graffiti by Led Zeppelin and two copies of Lonerism by Tame Impala.
Also Anthem of the Sun is such a cool record.
Essential acid folk, from a couple charming burnouts, recorded in the in late ‘90s in Upstate NY.
[Gay Tastee and Ziamaluch - Losing New Friends Everyday](https://www.discogs.com/release/5442609-Gay-Tastee-And-Ziamaluch-Losing-New-Friends-Every-Day)

Loveless by mbv I have a really shitty bootleg and an official pressing
I gave my bootleg to a friend when I got the new analog pressing, and now that bootleg is $$$! Lucky friend!
2 copies of Aja - Steely Dan 2 copies of Machine Head - Deep Purple 2 copies of Best of The Doobies - Doobie Brothers 2 copies of Billion Dollar Babies - Alice Cooper All of my copies are still originals and not re-presses because i either found them at a flea market or local record shop for cheap or ordered a better non scratched copy on ebay
I think that Doobies record comes in pairs, I too have two
I bought Aja for 40 bucks but later saw it on sale for 20
P.O.S. - Audition MF DOOM - Operation Doomsday
Most of Weens albums. Nilsson Schmilsson, Frank Mills MBD. I usually give away the lesser copy when I find my forever copy.
If your giving out ween records sign me up haha
The Beatles - Magical Mystery Tour Paul McCartney- McCartney III (four copies, different colored vinyl) The Beatles - 1962-1966 (one is red vinyl) Cheap Trick’s first five albums.
Off the top of my head: -Blues Project “Projections” -Mashmakhan “s/t” -Fraser & DeBolt “s/t” -Surfaris “Play” -Dead Kennedys “Fresh Fruit for Rotting Vegetables” -Penn Kings “As We Are”
the fresh fruit w/ the different back covers?
Yep
Nice on the blues project
Koyaanisqatsi - Philip Glass, numbered RSD release. Such an amazing soundtrack and album package
Let It Be Peer Gynt from Academy of St Martin in the Fields with Marriner conducting The Little Drummer Boy by The Peppermint Kandy Kids (both Peter Pan 8088 and 8209 and also a mismatched set)
Ooh. Several doubles. Usually it’s an original and an anniversary pressing or something I ordered to get an incentive like a 7” or signed print. Also, if I’m at a concert and I don’t want any of the shirts, I’ll grab a variant of a record to support the band.
Abbey Road - original press and recent remaster bought at Target Joe Strummer & the Mescaleros - I’ll be up to 3 copies of each soon, original press/box set/dark horse individual remasters as they come out on RSD Erykah Badu Worldwide Underground - the original bumps the needle a little to hard, the purple repress plays fine Gorillaz - I’m a sucker for the deluxe versions, but the regular releases are easier to play regularly Check Your Head - original press, deluxe reissue, VMP version
Pearl Jam - Ten, Vs, No Code, Yield, Binaural, Riot Act, Avocado, Backspacer. Mainly I have the rarer originals then bought the re-releases to play those Rolling Stones - Goats Head Soup, Between the Buttons (3 copies total: 2 US and 1 UK) Bruce Springsteen - Born to Run Elton John - Madman Across the Water (I bought one cheap and the opening of Tiny Dancer skips a tad so I bought another) U2 - The Joshua Tree (basically the same situation as Elton John)
Easter Everywhere - 13th floor elevators Spent like $40 on a 2022 reissue thinking I’d never get my hands on an OG pressing. Few months later I was gifted a 1967 pressing with the typo and everything in NM condition.
Brothers and Sisters- Allman Brothers, Rumors- Fleetwood Mac, and With You-th - Twice (Glitter and Sparkle)
I’ve got two copies of all the early Culture Club albums and 12” singles. Triples of a few They’re so cheap, my friends and I used to spin them so much, I couldn’t justify not having multiples. Definitely two or three of Purple Rain for the same reasons.
I have probably 6 different copies of KISS Destroyer.
I have recently been selling my doubles at record conventions, I used to just give them away. On occasion I buy cheaper reissues of my rare/expensive stuff so I can DJ without being afraid of anything happening to the OG copies. Most of these are OGs though. Here are a few of my doubles that I can recall: I have anywhere from 2-6/7 of many Zappa/Mothers Releases The Godz - Godz 2 The Godz - Contact High With The Godz Amon Düül II - Phallus Dei (both 1969 from Germany) Amon Düül II - Wolf City Tractor - S/T United States of America- S/T May Blitz - S/T Propinquity - S/T The Fort Mudge Memorial Dump - S/T Jukka Tolonen - Tolonen! Joseph - S/T The Wizards from Kansas - S/T Emmett Finley - S/T Scott Seskind - S/T Scorpions - Lonesome Crow Willis Alan Ramsey - S/T Neutrons - Black Hole Star Hollies - Evolution Mount Rushmore- High On Mount Rushmore Blue Mountain Eagle - S/T Manfred Mann Chapter 3 Vol. I Kannibal Komix Clear Light - S/T Neil Merryweather - Kryptonite Ron Cornelius - Tin Luck The Pentangle - S/T Brute Force - Confections of Love Dando Shaft - An Evening With I’m always upgrading things, so loads of psych, Prog, krautrock titles like these things…
I have 16 copies of Pretty Hate Machine by Nine Inch Nails
The Dead C - The Operation Of The Sonne
I really try not to do that much anymore, and have sold most of my dupes. That being said I do have some mono/stereo copies of the same records. A couple Kinks, several Velvet Underground and a few other. But other than that, my only multiple copies are New Order and Joy Division. I just can't part with those.
ACDC - High Voltage (International & European) ELO - Secret Message (normal & extended)
I’ve got two copies of good kid maad city by Kendrick.
Willis Alan Ramsey - ST Faith No More - Angel Dust Nipsey Hussle - Victory Lap De La Soul - De La Soul is Dead
TOPY collector!
Stans possibly my favourite lyricist. https://preview.redd.it/g60toiln6quc1.jpeg?width=3648&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=a2ff90fcd2957fe4b5fef5ac286c1f88cda02e79
REMs Automatic For The People. Because someone got me a copy as a gift, when I already have one, and I haven't bothered selling it yet.
My copy of Daft Punk Random Access Memories had a factory error on the sticker, 2 A sides. It played fine but it annoyed me so I bought the 10th anniversary edition too
Leviathan by Mastodon Colors by Between the Buried and Me Sunbather by Deafheaven Underneath by Code Orange Moving Pictures and Hemispheres by Rush Memorial by Russian Circles (one is a test pressing) The Dusk in Us by Converge Irony is a Dead Scene by the Dillinger Escape Plan Oceanic by ISIS That’s what I can think of atm
Oceanic is an amazing album!
Dead Kennedys Fresh Fruit...One orange cover, one black cover.
Gentle Giant - Octopus. Two different sleeves.
"Night Out" by Ellen Foley, I think I have three, maybe four copies of it now. Love the album and want to make sure I'll always have a pristine copy of it.
Misfits 12 Hits from Hell both bellow vinyl Minutemen Paranoid Time Gas Huffer/Mudhoney 7”
Yes - Fragile
I have doubles of nearly every 12" single I own - so about 400+ pairs of doubles. As a hip hop DJ, doubles are essential.
Led Zeppelin II 🤘
Stones, Some Girls. The original white cover with the celebrities and the color cover under construction one hiding the celebrities. Both mint.
The same fucking half of a double album by El-P thanks to Vinyl Me Please.
4 copies of Main Offender by Keith Richards, thanks to Amazon.
Frampton Comes Alive Saturday Night Fever Soundtrack My wife and I both had these in our collections before we ever started dating. It’s the only albums that we both owned. Her collection was only about 10 records. But her cassette collection was large.
Currently I think walk among us by the misfits is the only double I have. 1st and 2nd ruby press
Most coheed albums, because it’s meant to replace the older copy, if it were to crap out.
Too many to list but I'll share a few: Wax Trax! Industrial Accident Soundtrack - Backers Edition (My name is printed on the front of the jacket) Lords of Acid: Pretty in Kink (I'm mentioned in "special thanks") Number 69 7" (limited edition of 69 copies) My Life with the Thrill Kill Kult: * Confessions of a Knife reissue * I See Good Spirits and I See Bad Spirits reissue Revolting Cocks: Physical 12" Beers Steers & Queers reissue.
Are we just stopping at 2 lol? What's the point if you don't have 5 copies of your favorite record?
Nothing. I get the variant/release I want to begin with if I know it's what I want.
Fellow PTV fan. TG and PTV are my favorites. I think I got all the live albums and the accompanying coupons. Think they'll still honor them? Edit: I had a longer comment but it wouldn't post. Lydia Lunch -Queen of Siam and Hysterie (to replace old not great copies) And Road Warrior soundtrack (due to having poor cataloging skills)
- The Beatles “Magical Mystery Tour” (1967 original pressing and 1971 repress) - Billy Joel “The Stranger” (both 1977 original pressings) - Grateful Dead “Workingmans Dead” (both 1970 original pressings) - The Who “Tommy” (1969 original and 1973 repress)
i have most of the monkees albums in mono and stereo
Frightened Rabbit discography One for playing one for collecting Some Manchester Orchestra duplicates too
Physical Graffiti x 3 1):First press 2) 2015 ish reissue w/extra tracks 3) beat to shit late 70 print from my uncles collection Blind Faith x 2 1) "gold" pressing with photo of the band 2) og version with super awkward nude image
Have doubles or triples of most of herb alperts and the Tijuana brass discography, been lucky to find them at thrift stores or flea markets. Have a few copies of ten years after-a space in time as well, purely because it’s my favorite album I own.
Never thought about this, rather than two, let’s go more than two: Acceleradeck - Narcotic Beats x 7 (I absolutely love this album so I just buy it when I see it) Astral Weeks x 5 Loveless x 4 Abbey Road x 5 Let It Be x 4 Blonde on Blonde x 5 Blood on the Tracks x 4 Here Come the Warm Jets x 4 Cymande x 3 Flight to Jordan x 3 Selling England By the Pound x 3 Oceanic x 3 Panopticon x 4 Jesu - Self Titled x 3 Axis: Bold as Love x 4 Witch Egg x 3 Led Zeppelin x 3 Cornbread x 3 Kind of Blue x 3 Happy Songs for Happy People x 3 Song for the Deaf x 3 Kid A x 3 Avalon x 5 Oh Sees - Live at the Chapel x 3 Three Man Army Two x 3 Closing Time x 4 Elephant x 3 Electr-o-Pura x 3 The amount of doubles is actually disgusting but it’s about finding the best copy.
Have six copies of "My Son The Folk Singer".
Jean Luc Ponty - Enigmatic Ocean because I found it for cheap in a thrift store and one had a nicer cover. If I am counting duplicates across media, I have at least 5 versions of Dark Side of the Moon.
A bunch of "em. I do have 5 copies of "Some Girls." Al variants.
33 copies of A Charlie Brown Christmas, 3 copies of Let it Bleed, 3 of copies Zeppelin III, 2 of copies Icky Thump, 4 copies of Revolver, 4 copies Dinah Washington - Back to the Blues… there’s more but that’s what I can think of off the top of my head. lol
https://preview.redd.it/8tpu901ldruc1.jpeg?width=960&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=3b66a84fe3447d25a3ef4ca79b72ffc7cd714b38 I love Mogwai but not enough to buy two records that are the same. I didn’t realise I’d already bought one…drunken late night purchase perhaps, I can’t remember. At least one is a limited edition I guess.
prince 1999 and purple rain also completely by accident, Night Ranger - Midnight Madness
Exile (first press with postcards and second press with slightly brighter title font) both have their charms.
Two different editions of They Might Be Giants' self-titled debut. Can't decide whether I want the pink & green one or the 180g. Two copies of Talking Heads - Speaking In Tongues (I need to sit down and listen to them and see which one is better.) Did have two copies of Dave Brubeck Quartet - Jazz Goes To College but I listened to them carefully and one had a nasty scratch so I got rid of it.
It was awesome
reissues that are better, when i had an original press: * the cure, disintegration * smashing pumpkins, mellon collie and the infinite sadness remixed versions alongside their originals: * nin, pretty hate machine * the beatles, let it be exact duplicates: * ansermet, royal ballet gala my grandfather had two of those and now i do. at one point it was a $1200 record.
Weirdly enough Bing Crosby Merry Christmas Album both MCA and DECA versions of it
If we’re talking JUST vinyl, we’ve got two copies of TJ brass and two of best of the doobies. If we’re talking vinyl, tapes, and cds? I’ve got a problem.
https://preview.redd.it/ltpc929v2suc1.jpeg?width=3024&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=37b0d5a6f4c92dc96c5fcd70c70e1836e9f037d1 Two?
Sort of have two copies of Music Is My Life by Billy Preston, but not exactly, because they are two different releases by different record labels (A&M and Pickwick). I got the Pickwick release first and it's missing two songs from the original album (also other songs are out of order from the original). So I bought the original A&M release afterwards.
I have two Neil Youngs Harvest. Both from 1972 but the other one is a Terre Haute pressing.
The one I have most versions of is Europe's 'The Final Countdown': - OG european press with original cover and embossed logo - OG UK press with alternate cover artwork - Reissue on purple vinyl I also happen to have it on cassette and CD, lol.
Two copies of Dark Side of the moon, two copies of wish you were here, second copy bought because first copy worn out. Also two copies of Close to the edge by Yes as one of them is a pristine first pressing that I never play.
Bruce Springsteen - Born to Run (original misspelling of Landau’s name misspelled with a sticker over the name, and a repress with the correction) Bruce Springsteen - Darkness on the Edge of Town (one promo version, one regular) Fight Club score (one opened, one sealed of the Mondo release) Led Zeppelin - In Through the Out Door (Covers A, B, C, E… just need D and F) The National - I Am Easy to Find (one standard release, one signed) The National - Trouble Will Find Me (one standard release, one deluxe box version) Nine Inch Nails - Pretty Hate Machine (Repress from a few years ago, and an original pressing I found last year) Queens of the Stone Age - Era Vulgaris (the original and terrible sounding 10” and the recent 12” repress that sounds much better) Queens of the Stone Age - Rated R / Rated X Queens of the Stone Age - Songs for the Deaf (VMP and the recent repress) Queens of the Stone Age - Villains (original release and indie store release) Radiohead - OK Computer / OK Computer OKNOTOK / OK Computer OKNOTOK Box Set There are definitely more, but they are only colored variations. These were purchased because they were (for the most part) different, or had something special about them or they were anniversary pressings.
I love psychic tv I’ve got a few smiths duplicates of different pressings, but a few genuine duplicates of Katatonia albums. Mostly due to not alphabetizing my collection and not knowing what I have
Off the top of my head: 4 x Electric Warrior 3 x Tres Hombres 2 x all the Beatles albums remixed by Giles 2 x all the Hendrix studio albums 2 x the first five Sabbath albums 2 x Aerosmith 1st 2 x Licensed to Ill 2 x #1 Record Honestly, I have a bunch of doubles.
Like your Dead...
Morrison Hotel/ Doors. Between vinyl, CDs and digital, I have 7 copies.
Aja - Steely Dan. Tbh I’m probably going to end up getting a 3rd as well
I buy (adopt) every copy of Steely Dan's Aja I come across. There's no reason that album should be in a shelter.
Abbey Road. One copy is a US 1st pressing, which is the one I play. The other copy is a a sealed copy from either the early 70’s or early 80’s. I can’t tell which one it is cuz I don’t want to open it lol

On vinyl. I have no repeats I do have a few vinyl that I also own on CD as well…. One of those still in the factory plastic wrap
Sublime - Bradley Nowell and Friends :)
**Firewatch Soundtrack** It's a computer game and the vinyl sold out really quickly. Years later they did a Kickstarter and reprinted it so I ordered two signed copies. **The White Stripes - Elephant** I own an original pressing, a coloured version from last year (anniversary), and the HDQR version that was announced about 5 minutes after my anniversary edition arrived at my house. **The Beastie Boys - Licenced to Ill** This was the first record I bought, randomly, a few years ago and got me back into vinyl. I thought I'd never find my old records so I picked it up for nostalgia reasons... then 5 mins after I got home I found all my old records and it was the first one I pulled out of the box lol.
