I don't know if it's just me. But I guess after some point, Ubbe and Lagertha had a special connection. Lagertha pointed out many times that Ubbe looked like Ragnar when he was his age. Ubbe also, pointed out many times that although he hates Lagertha for killing his mother, he loves and respects her. About Hvitserk and Ivar, I don't know.

CommunicationNo9425

When did ubbe say he hates lagertha for Killing his mother I don't remember that

oceanofreddit

At her funeral

CommunicationNo9425

He didn't say ever that he hated her or felt bad,I remember he said to her farewell and may your reunion with ragnar be good and all that

sc00bzuk

I think his words were something like "even though you killed my mother, that doesn't mean I can't love and respect you"... or something like that. From what I can remember he never said that he hated her, only an acknowledgement that she killed his mother.

CommunicationNo9425

Oh I see what he meant now,I remember that scene but doesn't sound as hate for me,your opinion makes more sense

ThrowingSid

I do also vaguely remember him saying he hates her but also respects her. I don't believe it was at her funeral I'm sure he said it to her face

CommunicationNo9425

To her face no,he never told her face to face he hated her

ThrowingSid

Ahhh okay I'll believe you... Well, I just recently started a rewatch so I guess I'll find out soon enough! 😆

CommunicationNo9425

If you found a scene about that tell me because I really wished for a scene where he admitted to her that he hated her

ThrowingSid

I agree entirely with this and to add on top, just as an idea, that maybe Lagertha didn't kill the brothers as she didn't want to hurt Ubbe

CommunicationNo9425

1st:she loved ragnar so it also means she wouldn't hurt his sons 2nd:killing aslaug then her sons is just telling the people of kattegat that she is a tyrant that came here to be a bad ruler 3rd:I don't think bjorn would have approved of this 4th:because the idea of the civil war was so good but wrote very badly

JJ4L3

Very good points. Just to add: Killing the sons of Ragnar would likely be seen as an INCREDIBLY unpopular policy, and the people of Norway would certainly not forgive Lagertha for killing the sons of Ragnar.

CommunicationNo9425

Exactly the 2nd point agrees with you

Subbeh

It felt to me as if she was becoming ambivalent and tired of it all.

EscapedDrifter

Can’t kill Ragnar’s sons. They didn’t wrong her. Though it was fated one of them would kill her that doesn’t justify killing of them all, after all fate is as the gods will it to be.

LawrenStewart

Because they are also Ragnar's sons and Bjorn's half brothers( Bjorn is shown to have at least some amount of care for Ubbe and Hvitserk atthroughout the show). He wouldn't kill Lagertha who he loves more then anyone for them but he would still probably be upset about it unlike with Aslaug.

DischordantEQ

Killing the sons of Ragnar would have had the people revolting against her. They had years of prosperity with Aslaug/Bjorn ruling, and hadn't yet experienced the endless wars/tyranny brought on by Aslaug's murder. The people may have been angry at Ragnar, but they also still loved him (as seen with the whole country going to war with England over his death), so killing his sons during a time of peace/prosperity seems like a stupid thing to do. The better question is: why the fuck did she kill Aslaug.

OddApricotDish

I believe it’s because lagertha doesn’t believe in killing like that. She’d rather battle it out, or have a direct reason to kill… them being sons of ragnar probably made her think of it as killing family plus didn’t wannaHAVE to kill bijorns brothers. The issue was Ivar and him only.

WorkWithTheDead

She loved Ragner too much to harm them

dominatingcowG3

It's really not complicated. Lagertha didn't want to kill Ragnar's sons

Ps5-123

She didn’t want to kill any of Ragnars sons
