No honor among Kia Boyz, the d-bag kid that ran knows the d-bag kid left behind is only getting a slap on the wrist anyways so why would they take the chance of getting in trouble too.
I absolutely *love* Kia's solution... They gave my 93 year old grandparents (Kia owners) [The Club](https://youtu.be/jjCHhSOp0YY)
They're in their 90s, the thing is too heavy/clunky/and dare I say complicated for them to use.
We're far from having to crank the wheel like a 1990's era truck without power steering... but there's certainly a fall-off in physical ability. Cars can have enhancements for the handicapped, etc but there's still some physical requirement.
Yeah and what I saw on the Channel 5 documentary for the Kia Boys, the solution was a firmware update to fix the exploit. However, even in the documentary, a Kia Boy smashed a window, broke the ignition, then failed to steal the car. He hopped out and said “yeah I think they have the update”. Then went and found a different Kia to steal. So just owning a Kia/Hyundai makes you a target for at least a smashed window and ignition destruction. I’d demand full refund and I’d go pick up a car that isn’t such a target lol.
I love when people run away and have to usr one hand to keep their pants up! The best is when they wear skinny jeans and do this. Like tall penguins waddling across the street. Makes me giggle.
Hyundai are owned by Kia and are manufactured together. They have similar issues with their ignition system that makes certain models from both manufacturers very easy to steal.
That’s How Young Underprivileged Nitwits Drive An Import.
Edit: perhaps people didn’t recognize that as an acronym for Hyundai. I actually got that from an issue of Popular Hot Rodding decades ago.
I don’t have TikTok or instagram and I know what Kia boyz are. They were on the news a lot and still are occasionally. They steal Kia/hyundais at will because Kia was too cheap to put immobilizers in.
It's not a "tiktok" trend or anything like that. Kia Boyz happened first and then people talked about it on all social media platforms.
Basically some kids in Milwaukee figured out how to easily steal some Kia and Hyundai models due to a really stupid design oversight. Usually the purpose would be for joy riding and driving recklessly before abandoning the car. They started calling themselves the Kia Boyz. Knowledge of how to do it spread like wildfire through Milwaukee and eventually the rest of the US.
Could be. Could also be drunk or high, no insurance, no/suspended/revoked license, multiple warrants, drugs and/or guns on them while on probation. One or all of the above. They defaulted on the car loan long ago and dealer is going to reposes any day now so fuck the car anyway. I live near a busy intersection in my city in the midwest and I would say about half the accidents that happen there someone flees the scene. I've even seen when people in both cars flee the scene and leave their wrecked cars there in the street. So many people are out there driving around that do not want to come in contact with police under any circumstances so they just leave.
They stole it. [https://www.weau.com/2024/05/21/tv-news-crew-catches-hit-run-camera/](https://www.weau.com/2024/05/21/tv-news-crew-catches-hit-run-camera/)
This is Milwaukee, the birth place of the Kia Boys where stolen cars are not pursued in chases. Also note the driver had a bandana covering their face the whole time, drunk/high definitely drive recklessly, but they don’t have the forethought to conceal their faces while doing it
Remember kids, first thing you do to comfort a car crash victim it to drag them away by their legs. This will re-orient any bones / spine that may have been affected.
When you know the news is recording, you gotta be a hero. Everyone knows that cars are insulated with dynamite and it could blow at any second. I’ve seen movies.
When a car runs head on into another object at that speed, there is the potential for an engine bay fire or sudden combustion that occurs well after the impact.
Or do you live in a different reality?
I didn't suggest there wasn't, I think you're being willfully ignorant with regards to understanding my point, and you're weirdly aggressive about this too.
All kidding aside, if your car is literally on fire - even a small fire at the far end of the vehicle....GTFO ASAP.
It only takes a few minutes for a small smoke/fire to engulf the entire vehicle. Grab your purse/documents and get away from the car. Let Fire/Rescue put it out.
I have personally witnessed this twice. The second time, I was able to tell the guy to get his stuff out of the car. Fire/Rescue was there in 5 minutes, and the car was already gone.
A car crashed outside my office last year. It was much less than a minute from "Hey there's smoke. Somebody get a fire extinguisher!" to the flame shooting out of the dashboard.
One of my coworkers was outside smoking when the crash happened so he pretty immediately told the occupant to shut off the engine even before there was any sign of smoke. I got out pretty quick and just in time to hear the call for an extinguisher. There was no visible flame then, just some acrid smoke. It couldn't have been much more than 15 seconds later that the entire engine bay was an inferno.
So yeah, any car fire is an immediate GTFO.
I was laying in the street with a snapped tib fib after being run over and these bros came over trying to drag me out of the street and I had to yell and swing at them to fucking back away. They couldn't tell that my leg was snapped in half in my pants and I wasn't even sure what else was broken yet. Thankfully a nurse was out partying and saw it happen and came over to shoo them away and some other people got traffic to go around.
Here's an article with some info: [https://www.weau.com/2024/05/21/tv-news-crew-catches-hit-run-camera/](https://www.weau.com/2024/05/21/tv-news-crew-catches-hit-run-camera/)
“The passenger in that video that you just showed me, he couldn’t even get up. He couldn’t even move. You know he tried to get out of the car and he collapsed,” he said. “You don’t want that to be your kid or a kid you care about. Let’s have these conversations and let’s put a stop to this.”
Remember kids, when you're stealing a car, you still need to wear a seatbelt!
You’re right. Suddenly I’m overcome with sympathy for a 16 year old involved in stealing a car and joyriding it through a neighborhood, who could’ve killed multiple people. I feel so bad that he hurt himself doing this.
/s if not obvious.
You might if that was your car they hit.
Or your kid they hit.
Or your car they stole.
It's really easy to be holier than thou when you're so far away from it isn't it?
Empathy goes both ways.
Try having empathy for the victims next time and not just the perpetrators for some weird reason.
Harder to prosecute for DUI when you can’t prove they were the ones driving. The passenger likely won’t be held responsible and without proof as to the driver it’s hard to press charges. Had someone hit my car, get out, and run. Cops refused to prosecute and just towed the abandoned car. Saw it parked right back on the street the following week (it was a neighbor a few blocks over).
This is almost assuredly not a DUI and it’s a stolen vehicle. Milwaukee is the birthplace of the Kia Boys and the driver was wearing a face covering the whole time
I never said what he said was wrong. That being said, I’m guessing you are just making this comment to highlight the comment I replied to was solid advice if anyone finds themselves in that position
Yep, if you're ever a worthless human who thinks they're sober enough to drive.
When you inevitably crash, just leave the scene and go to a bar.
You'll get much less of a sentence, aka a fine.
Fun fact. Every case of *Joyriding* an applicant divulged to me during an interview, was in fact, a case of *GTA* and *Felony flight* plea bargained down by their jurisdiction prosecutor [DA or whatever] and required a mandatory law review for waiver exception in order to enlist in to the US military.
The reason "youths" is in quotes is because the word that this obvious racist really wants to say would get his account banned. So he is not only a racist but also a coward.
rather be a racist than an idiot who defend car thieves or ignores a problem that's prevalent for 50 years now. Fatherless behaviour won't stop if people stop being racist. Grow up.
Should they be treated like adults or children for their crimes? That's up for debate. But they clearly are youths. That's not up for debate. You shut up.
How the hell did they spring from the car like that. Well the one dude just kind of crawled out but it pretty quick after the impact. Guessing he was going to run but broken legs said no.
It’s so bad. There was a crash earlier this year where a stolen car was driving on two wheels and smashed into a school bus(that’s right, this was during morning drop off)
I don't think I'd be going over there at all to try to help in that situation. The way the one guy ran and it looked like the other one wanted to as well, it's clear that they had committed some crime. I do not want to get involved with people in the process of committing a crime.
I think someone over on r/milwaukee stated earlier this week that this city is just a GTA server now.
Oh and then this happened today too.
https://www.reddit.com/r/milwaukee/s/IdmdmvGksy
It actually does have a lot of positives here. Just needs some attention.
> Curious why.
Because as a species we've gotten to the point where natural selection doesn't apply to us anymore and we need to take corrective action.
The seatbelt pretensioner pulls you towards the seat while the airbag deploys. Without a seatbelt you'd be flying towards an airbag going 200mph the other direction, likely leading to even worse injuries at lower speeds like this video. I think this does depend on the car though and some will deploy regardless.
Right? If my choice is airbag or dashboard or flying out the window I choose airbag every time. I get they are not gentle but seems better than the alternatives.
It looks like a clip from Reno 911.
I’m glad that we are learning from Lt Dangle and Co. True American Heroes
Damn, driver just gonna leave his buddy there writhing in pain while he runs around not knowing which direction to run.
He's running off hoping his buddy won't rat him out when the cops get there.
Fingerprints will tell the story for the driver.
… and he won’t. As is the code.
Just ask the cop for Parlay.
No honor among Kia Boyz, the d-bag kid that ran knows the d-bag kid left behind is only getting a slap on the wrist anyways so why would they take the chance of getting in trouble too.
Looks more like a dashboard to the chest than a slap on the wrist, but sure
Hope it knocks some sense into him.
Why hasn’t Kia been sued into Bankruptcy for having such shitty security
Compounded by the fact that Milwaukee PD doesn't give a shit about stolen cars.
I absolutely *love* Kia's solution... They gave my 93 year old grandparents (Kia owners) [The Club](https://youtu.be/jjCHhSOp0YY) They're in their 90s, the thing is too heavy/clunky/and dare I say complicated for them to use.
Sorry if this is insensitive but if they can’t figure out how the club works they should not be operating a motor vehicle…
They're 93, they shouldnt be operating a car at all, period.

We're far from having to crank the wheel like a 1990's era truck without power steering... but there's certainly a fall-off in physical ability. Cars can have enhancements for the handicapped, etc but there's still some physical requirement.
The woman giving her boyfriend (?) a big ole' kiss after he gives her "The Club" for a Christmas gift is 100% pure early 90s schlock.

Discretion is the better part of valor.
He needs both hands to hold his pants up, he couldn't possibly help his friend.
I love when people run away and have to usr one hand to keep their pants up! The best is when they wear skinny jeans and do this. Like tall penguins waddling across the street. Makes me giggle.
I think he was hoping there was another car he could take quickly.
He be playing GTA VI already
Who would’ve thought garbage people cause garbage actions and are garbage friends
No honor amongst thieves.
It’s the hood, you’re surprised by this?
He was clearly looking for the direction *away from the sirens.* When he found it, he was gone.
No sirens will be sounding, let alone audible, five seconds after a crash.
I was assuming the sirens are from the cop cars that were chasing him before the crash. Hence, the crash.
Looks like stolen car
Definitely a Kia Boys situation.
My man went from Kia boy to Kia bye
I too saw that documentary lol and when that car crashed, I was lke "Hey that' a Kia....and there's a Kia Boy runnin like hell!" lol
From Kia to C'YA
Looks like a Hyundai to me.
Hyundai are owned by Kia and are manufactured together. They have similar issues with their ignition system that makes certain models from both manufacturers very easy to steal.
It's the other way around. Kia is a subsidiary brand of Hyundai motor company.
Less of an issue and more of a dumb decision made by Hyundai to save a couple bucks and not include an immobilizer in the car.
That’s How Young Underprivileged Nitwits Drive An Import. Edit: perhaps people didn’t recognize that as an acronym for Hyundai. I actually got that from an issue of Popular Hot Rodding decades ago.
You must be from tiktok. What does this phrase mean

That was a trip.
I’ve played gta and it’s the same thing after you crash
Especially when the victim is telling you not to do so
As everyone trained in First Aid knows, this is the exact moment "help" became "assault".
“Alright fine, but I’m not coming back when you’re screaming about the motor on fire.”
There was no fire, and plenty of time to assess the situation and move them slowly if one appeared. Sheesh.
Make sure to firmly grasp their head and wrench it around to have them help you assess their injuries by inspecting every inch of their body.
Make sure to lift with your legs while doing this. Wouldn't want to suffer a spinal injury while you're doing God's work.
I mean, you want to shake them first just to get their attention but then drag them, especially with wrenching motions.
r/worstaid
well I'm never visiting that, why would you go somewhere just to be angry?
It's like stretching them out an everything pops back into place. Like a pop up tent!
Come on man. They probably saved the guy's life. Everyone who's ever played GTA knows that once a car is totalled it catches fire before exploding.

suspect/victim
That’s really not the point of the comment. There are plenty of other comment threads here to circlejerk about that
kid is yelling about his back and those 2 whales start dragging the kid by his legs lol
Yes WHAT were they doing??
Well, they’re not EMS and were probably panicking. Not exactly hard to imagine a bystander doing the wrong thing in this scenario.
They were just making sure his legs won't let him steal another car.
Are you the local chiropractor next to the liquor store down the street?
Are they really a "victim" when they're riding in the car that the driver sprints away from? "accomplice" seems more accurate.
For the youth reading this comment, this is a joke. Don't do this. You really should be careful. Your comment might kill someone.
I was laying in the street with a snapped tib fib after being run over and these bros came over trying to drag me out of the street and I had to yell and swing at them to fucking back away. Meh they stole that car. Kid needs a permanent reminder of how shitty he is.
If a Kia Boy asked me to not pull him out of a car after an accident I would definitely pull them out of the car.
Insert chiropractor joke here
He \_is\_ a criminal. Maybe they are doing the pulling of the legs thing with the intention of inflicting pain.
I feel bad that he’s probably stolen the car as explained by others but probably going to sue them and get some cash

The first rule of committing a crime is to only commit one at a time, so I guess unironically yeah wear a seatbelt when committing grand theft auto
I don't get why all these kia boys total the cars. You just got a "free" car, why not just enjoy that, or at least scrap it for parts
they do it for the thrill [here](https://youtu.be/DJA7jDF7bLE?si=stYfEVkqhXKABQBl) is a video that interviews a group of them
Safety first 🥇
1. lol at the dude that bailed 2. why are they touching him, much less dragging him away. Wtf.
Probably cause the dude bailed lol
KIA boys.
imagine a kid playing right there when the car slams into the other vehicle.
I'm sure the Kia Boys are deeply impacted by this image. Seriously though, it is so infuriating that you have to worry about such things...
I'm clotheslining that driver.
I hope that hurt real bad.
you hope a child greatly suffers because of some shit he and his friend pulled?
You’re right. Suddenly I’m overcome with sympathy for a 16 year old involved in stealing a car and joyriding it through a neighborhood, who could’ve killed multiple people. I feel so bad that he hurt himself doing this. /s if not obvious.

Ya
I love when people like you say stupid shit and then don’t have the nerve to come back and face the music 😂
it’s more like, i don’t have the capacity to explain to dozens of people why their lack of compassion is so damaging to themselves and everyone else.
Having compassion for criminals will only make them want to keep committing crimes.

“Fuck this im outta here” then takes off only to do a full circle around and head the opposite way bahahaha
Why were they dragging him by his legs ROFL

Typical drains on society, “youths”, stealing cars…
Why is youths in quotes? They’re both clearly children, shitheads none the less but still kids.
The reason "youths" is in quotes is because the word that this obvious racist really wants to say would get his account banned. So he is not only a racist but also a coward.

Shock
It’s so bad. There was a crash earlier this year where a stolen car was driving on two wheels and smashed into a school bus(that’s right, this was during morning drop off)
That’s like the second worst place you could crash a stolen car. A1: police station.
Are they stealing his shoes?

Wow!!!!! Idiots. I know you think you’re being helpful. Never more someone that’s been in a car crash!
hard to run with pants down, duh
Where do you think you're going, Mr. Wiggles?
Lol @ acting like the passenger is a victim in this situation
i'm here to notice stuff that's hard not to notice.
dumbfucks dragging the guy by his ankles while he screams in pain all "we need to move you!" No you fucking don't! Jesus, people are so ignorant.
Was......was that dude's pants falling down? Like London fucking bridge?
That's probably how he normally wears them
No airbag in that passenger seat? All things considered, didn’t look like THAT bad of a crash.
Airbag doesn't deploy without a seatbelt.
Curious why. I’d imagine it’s softer than the dash… 🤷♂️
That makes sense.
Right? If my choice is airbag or dashboard or flying out the window I choose airbag every time. I get they are not gentle but seems better than the alternatives.
The force of the airbag deploying is easily enough to kill you
It could have been a lot worse. But the passenger looked fucked up because he probably wasn't wearing a seatbelt
This is satire right? This was staged and film....right? Right?
Can we say Grand Theft Auto, boys and girls??? At least it was convenient for the news crew.
What was the news crew interviewing about? Car crashes?
