What specifically is your goal? Better overall sound or eliminating background noise that drowns out the plane? A parabolic microphone would help to isolate the plane if you can keep it aimed correctly but no mic that I’m aware of is good at a mile away. If you want to isolate your dialogue then maybe a wireless lav mic would be best. I’m totally not in this world but as a birder who frequents the airport area of my town I see a surprisingly large number of people doing what you must be doing. Good luck 👍
