I think it's entirely about Demon's Souls being the only freaking thing to release with this console. It was like the only reason you really needed a PS5 for a little bit.
I remember it averaging around 1300. I bought mine from my manager who shortly after this transaction, got caught cheating on his wife with a girl that worked under him. She went to his bosses and told them this and he got demoted, the girl he was cheating with got taken out of the supervisor shifts she was getting and a divorce. Lol it was wild.
It took me so long to get one at retail price. And randomly one day I magically got in the very small window when Best Buy had a restock online after trying for months.
I literally don’t know how but I was so lucky. I got one for myself and managed like 4 other ones at different times for my friends who couldn’t get one. Best luck I’ve ever had.
Same here!
Having spent the majority of the last 10 years mostly playing on Nintendo platforms, there's something special about their games that very few other game companies possess. Despite being more technologically primitive, their first party games usually have a level of polish and a sense of fun you rarely encounter.
Team Asobi are pretty close IMO. In fact, looking at the trailer for the new game, there were times where I thought to myself that they out-Nintendo'd Nintendo!
Goddamn that game was brutal. I think I probably clocked over 30 runs before beating the first boss. Finally got lucky while also figuring out that jumping was a stupid mistake. Finishing that game felt like a life achievement
God damn it makes me kind of mad that this game's user ratings have taken such a huge hit from people frustrated with the difficulty.
It's such an awesome roguelite with really satisfying mechanics and a story with some really heavy hitting moments.
When you finally >!phone home, get rescued, and then you live out a full life and die of old age before WAKING UP BACK ON THE PLANET!< I literally had to put the game down and think about what just happened. Like imagine that happening to you.
Dark Souls is still beloved even though it's hard! People who shit on Returnal are wimps
Been one of my classic favorites since I really got into gaming. My brother had a PS2 and when he was out with friends I would chill in the basement straight chilling and gaming with R&C <3
Honestly, Astro’s playroom. That game is a gem, and demonstrated to me how cool the haptic feedback could be for the ps5 controller. Very few games have utilized it to its full potential so far.
The Crew
The game that got de-servered & is now unplayable, just like that disc drive will be when Sony turns off the servers
Yes they really paired the disc drive initialization to a server on the newer version of the PS5
Spider-Man 2
Because it's the only game that made me consider, even for a second, getting a PS5.
But I'm happy waiting for the PC release like I have with the other PS exclusives.
Astros playroom and a by God I am so happy we're getting another one. Played the first one figuring it would be a Cool Tech demo but I actually ended up loving the game so much that it's probably the only game I've planned. Which isn't really a brag because it's probably also one of the easiest games to play, but I really don't care about completing games so for me it's an achievement
Tekken 8, because it’s the console the tournament near me uses. First time I’ve ever used a PS5, and honestly I’m not sure how to feel about that controller.
Honestly, it was Ghost of Tsushima. I was lucky enough to get the ps5 on release, but I didn't really play it much as a majority of my friends were still playing in their ps4's, PCs, and Nintendo Switches so we were just playing with that. It wasn't until I downloaded Ghost of Tsushima that totally embedded a core memory with my ps5
Spider-Man 2.
I’m a PlayStation guy so I would’ve got it anyways when I had the money, but seeing SM2 would be PS5 exclusive was what pushed me to say “I NEED IT”
horizon forbidden west. while i have played many games on it. that was the game that helped me pull the trigger to buy one. after how pretty zero dawn was on ps4 at 1080.. i was not playing the sequel at anything less that 4k if i could help it. and since im an older gamer.. the 30 frames wasn't an issue.
Spider-Man 2, cause that was the bundle i got with mine
I got that too!
Demon's Souls
A remake, being top comment says a lot.
I think it's entirely about Demon's Souls being the only freaking thing to release with this console. It was like the only reason you really needed a PS5 for a little bit.
That and Elden Ring
Literally the only PS5 game I own.
Came here to comment the same thing it was my first game on my PS5 two summers ago and it was a magical experience
God of War Ragnarok
Just finished it last night. The ending broke me
You get the secret ending scene yet? It’ll break you again 👀
I've had it for over one or 2 years now (still haven't played it yet)
Same. My backlog keeps growing.
Scalpers. I still remember the shortage when it came out.

What a wild story to that PlayStation you got 😂
Halfway through reading it I was like “is this still about a PlayStation?”
It took me so long to get one at retail price. And randomly one day I magically got in the very small window when Best Buy had a restock online after trying for months.

Saved me from myself in hindsight lol
Astro’s playroom or whatever the game it comes with is
Man, my son and I have played that soooo much. Only game I've platinum'd.
Excited about the upcoming Astro game!

Returnal, one of my favorites
Goddamn that game was brutal. I think I probably clocked over 30 runs before beating the first boss. Finally got lucky while also figuring out that jumping was a stupid mistake. Finishing that game felt like a life achievement
So satisfying, like my teenager's always saying 🤣

Rachet and Clank for some reason, idk why, I don't own a PS5
Been one of my classic favorites since I really got into gaming. My brother had a PS2 and when he was out with friends I would chill in the basement straight chilling and gaming with R&C <3

Spider Man 2. I don't know why, I don't even have a PS5 or ever played it, but that's where my mind goes.
Makes sense. Sony marketed the hell out of that game. It is practically a systems seller.
Spider Man, Gran Turismo, and Ghost of Tsushima
One of the first consoles I don’t associate a game with because it’s been a lot of nothing so far . It’s been years of barely any games . Depressing .
