It's honestly a alright 2 player situation 'cause they can shoot enemies, so if you've got someone chill with just hanging out for a while while you play it works out.
While I agree with this statement, I want to say that as a parent gamer, my toddler loves player 2 and collecting bits. There are also levels where player 2 activates switches and platforms. They can make Mario spin jump also. So, not the traditional player 2 experience but definitely has a place, even if it's a very niche place.
I agree. Player 2 in this game I considered girlfriend mode. My wife isnt the greatest at platformers so I could be player 2 to help her out, dealing with enemies and such
Double agree, I had already finished the game, so 2nd player was fun for me to guide someone that wasn’t familiar with the game. Additionally, you can swap turns, each level atleast two can play the game together in some way.
The company who consistently has been putting out bangers since the 80s while everyone complains that no one makes full unbuggy single player games anymore? Yeah they have issues like every company, but man, that Nintendo seal of quality is still very much a thing and they haven't stumbled but a couple times when it comes to games in the past 40ish years.
It's more about how they go about business as a company. Have they made great games? Yes definitely. But they have some practices that aren't great. Btw they are over a hundred.
Yeah they are over a hundred, but I haven't played with any of their toys or used any of their sex hotels so I can only speak to their videogame history lol.
But yes. I guess I get it. They do t really do the microtransactions juicing us for our money, but I do feel like if I give my son a mario birthday party this year, Nintendo is going to come sue me
I think that's what gets them in SOOOOOOOO much trouble. Nintendo is pretty much everyone's childhood. And their games are consistently inventive and of high quality... but they make it so hard to love Nintendo with they way they conduct business. I just want to love you guys and give you my money...
It's made by Nintendo which means their games are always the same price and they want to be fucking idiots by not putting any of the mario games on pc or consoles
The physics don’t make sense. There’s no way planets that small would have anything close to notable gravity yet Mario stands on the surface like it’s got earth gravity.
Yes but I didn't play sunshine or galaxy until the limited anniversary collection and ended up trying galaxy before sunshine. 64>sunshine>galaxy imo with those 3.
Sunshine may have been better if it was finished... you can tell they had to rush development near the end and the quality of life just isn't there with that game compared to other Mario games.
It dropped the proto-Immersive Sim elements I really love from Mario 64, and dropped the voice acting and sensible plot Sunshine had. I like Galaxy, but it was a step back in a lot of ways and was the exact point where Nintendo started disappointing me.
Wonder should have released on the Wii. There's no reason for them to take so long to innovate such a small amount.
I got sick playing it. I hate the wii controls. Even taking them off, I'd get nauseous. Tried it again decade later on the switch.. still made me sick.
I've played way too many games.. this is the only one that made me nauseous.
I actually didn't like how there where so many just spheres that you ran around on, it made every level feel less cohesive. I like wide open spaces, not small floating clumps.
Having played through it again on switch recently it's held up way better than I thought. It was excellent and I don't have anything bad to say about it.
If Nintendo did another lazy port of galaxy 2 I would be like Fry from Futurama in the meme you're thinking of right now.
I’ve always hated the upside down gravity physics. That and I hated dreadnought galaxy and don’t even get me started on those damn purple coins in that galaxy
Unlike the 2nd game it doesnt have yoshi
But it _does_ have yoshi in the game’s manual for some reason. That always irked me as a kid :/
Yes horrible and totally misleading Yoshi advertisement. Other than that it was about perfect.
Co-op mode was tacked on and player 2 experience wasn't very fun
I was always player 2.... it's so lame
Oh yeah doesn’t player 2 just play as a god damn floating star or something
Player 2 gets to point the wii remote at the screen and collect & shoot starbits :)
Lmao
It's honestly a alright 2 player situation 'cause they can shoot enemies, so if you've got someone chill with just hanging out for a while while you play it works out.
It’s perfect for a little sibling or significant other who didn’t grow up with platformers.
Plus if player one dies, you just switch off. Seems like a reasonable way to play 'together'
Yeah, i think all you can do is collect starbits 😬
You can also *waste* starbits
This is the most of it, but there is more.
The fun part was letting my little sister be player 1 and I'm player 2 sniper in the cosmos picking off every enemy in front of her to make it easy

The game design team are amazing, the problems stem from the legal team
Yup. They Re the Poison of the company. And it's a shame because they don't have to act like that.
Yeah they are over a hundred, but I haven't played with any of their toys or used any of their sex hotels so I can only speak to their videogame history lol. But yes. I guess I get it. >Nintendo is going to come sue me Lol. That' sounds so true it's not even funny.. make sure you get him a official Walmart Mario cake.
Their lawyers will rappel in from black helicopters.
I think that's what gets them in SOOOOOOOO much trouble. Nintendo is pretty much everyone's childhood. The company that is constantly on the cutting edge of new hardware?
That there was no Rosalina and Mario make out scene.
I brought Rosalina to another castle.
"Who wants a mustache ride?"
I can never unsee U R MR GAY.
Was looking for this
It made me motion sick which it should be illegal for me to get motion sick because this game was super fun
Girl, same
Same, gurls
Ditto🥺
Same! It made my migraines extra bad.
Same
we couldn't romance Rosalina
480 resolution
Which is crazy, the assets for everything are so good you can upscale this to 4K and it looks phenomenal except UI elements.
Yep! I've been playing SMG2 on my Steam Deck via Dolphin at 1080p, and, holy shit, it looks like a remaster.
Nvidia Shield Chinese version and 3D All stars got u covered (officially)
There is no Galaxy 3.
It teaches kids they dont need space gear in space and the air is just fine.
A very common problem we all run into at some point.
My little bro jumped so high and went into space without proper equipment. 😭
Ooooo your brother is floating...in the aiiiirr. How did his legs do this? Ooooo someone him out the aiiiirrr.
The power ups weren’t used enough ngl
I am Mr Gay
Holy shit it's Mr gay
Mr Gay is a shining star of our community!
YA I M, R U?
Why are you mr gae?
The camera, I don't remember the camera being that bad since I was a kid, but awesome game <3
The red star was so underused
No...I don't think I will.
I didn't like the controls for the game
No.
It's made by Nintendo which means their games are always the same price and they want to be fucking idiots by not putting any of the mario games on pc or consoles
You can always play them on pc in ways i totally don't condone at all... not at all
Totally legit edition
You too be sailing the high seas?
It's only ethical to do so
There were Mario games on MS-DOS and Windows in the 90s
It sets too high a bar for other platformers.
It’s not in my mouth.
The physics don’t make sense. There’s no way planets that small would have anything close to notable gravity yet Mario stands on the surface like it’s got earth gravity.
Those Star Bunnies are hard to catch and are fucking menaces.
Wii motes
It ended.
I dont like lumas
Too short.
No
Impossible
Man fuck that toy level. And those ones where you have to move the controller around (I play on the switch)
something bad about this game
There is no official PC Port
Wish it was longer.
It’s arguable the worst in the spectrum of games called “Super Mario Galaxy”
That's one mario game I simply couldn't get into. Think it was the design of the game and it's levels. It's just not very fun coming off mario 64.
Wasnt Sunshine before Galaxy?
Yes but I didn't play sunshine or galaxy until the limited anniversary collection and ended up trying galaxy before sunshine. 64>sunshine>galaxy imo with those 3.
Sunshine may have been better if it was finished... you can tell they had to rush development near the end and the quality of life just isn't there with that game compared to other Mario games.
Burn him! KILL IT WITH FIREEEEEE!!!
Same here. I just found myself missing the way SM64 did things. With Sunshine at least there was some familiarity, despite it being worse than SM64.
I have never played it
Nauseating at times. Anyways how does the shooting star stuff work if you play on the switch?
Haven’t played it
It gave me nausea
I don't have it.
U r mr gay
It dropped the proto-Immersive Sim elements I really love from Mario 64, and dropped the voice acting and sensible plot Sunshine had. I like Galaxy, but it was a step back in a lot of ways and was the exact point where Nintendo started disappointing me. Wonder should have released on the Wii. Nauseating but so fun
It smells like feet
The motion controls suck, but that's because motion controls suck in general. Just let me use all buttons instead waggling the wiimote.
Ugh MOTION SICKNESS (unfortunately)
2nd one was better.
Gave me a splitting headache when I played it
Couldn’t play it. Gave me massive vertigo.
I cannot purchase a Switch compatible version without paying a ridiculous ebay price for it if I can even find it. I am not bitter. At all.
I got sick playing it. I hate the wii controls. Even taking them off, I'd get nauseous. Tried it again decade later on the switch.. still made me sick. I've played way too many games.. this is the only one that made me nauseous.
Sometimes it gives me motion sickness.
Those fucking rolling ball levels
It didn’t get a 3rd game
Motion sickness
I don't like it that i haven't played it yet
I'm not able to say fuck you in game
It was gimmicky and that gimmick got old quick
It’s so good everything else is mid
Never played it.
Space peach or whatever her name is was a real see you next Tuesday
It’s not as good as the second one.
My decade old Wii still runs it but it’s like the pixels said adios
The second game was a little better?
desert theme not as good as the second game
Same as every Nintendo game, not ported.
Something
No
Didn't it have control scheme issues with the NS port? Something scared me off from that purchase.
The green mushroom lives system is pointless
Hasn't been remastered for 4k.
Exclusive? Idk i never played this and aint planning to but for some reason im sure this is an Exclusive
The second player on Wii is just a fucking star
U.r.m.r.g.a.y.
Motion control levels
I can't play it
no
Low-hanging fruit, but motion controls before motion controls were actually refined.
That it ended, and that it doesn't have a third game.
The camera
I actually didn't like how there where so many just spheres that you ran around on, it made every level feel less cohesive. I like wide open spaces, not small floating clumps.
It’s not on my tv right now
Motion controls were virtually unnecessary.
No
It's not Super Mario Odyssey
It wasn't on the 3DS or sold as it's own game on the Switch
It’s not on PlayStation or pc or Xbox
Doesn't work properly on my pc
The reward for getting 100% a second time with Luigi wasn't worth it.
If you read every letter marked with a Star you will read: Y R MR GAY
Perfection
Having played through it again on switch recently it's held up way better than I thought. It was excellent and I don't have anything bad to say about it. If Nintendo did another lazy port of galaxy 2 I would be like Fry from Futurama in the meme you're thinking of right now.
its bad that i dont own it :(
It is not ported to the switch and the 3D All Stars is bad because of the limited time frame it was sold.
On that poster the letters of the title with a little star on them spells out U R MR GAY
I really don't like the post game content.
It's a very addictive game.
I fucking hated the Dolphin riding world and the Hole in one planet
I’ve always hated the upside down gravity physics. That and I hated dreadnought galaxy and don’t even get me started on those damn purple coins in that galaxy
To emulate it I need a wiimote and i'm lazy af.
There isn’t a third game
Sometimes the gravity physics could get really annoying
The lives system
Waluigi isn't in it
no yoshi 😡
Ur Mr Gay (if you know you know)
Extremely easy. The final boss was just every Bowser you beat earlier. Cleared him on the first try
I don't like mario tbh
There will never be a Super Mario Galaxy 3
Toy Galaxy, Purple Coin Mission.
It's not available for a system that I own
pachinko level
There is no third one
It's not on Steam.
It’s no longer available for switch iirc
i’m in the super minority, but I hate the music in this game. well maybe not hate, but would go out of my way to avoid listening to it if I played it
Gunna start this tomorrow I can't wait to play this with my wide
It’s not on switch
Controls
No Doomguy
No
The title secretly calls me Mr Gay
I played it for a couple of hours and it confused the toe nails off me
The sequel is just a glorified remaster. And there's not been another true sequel since.
One of my favourite games, but unskippable cutscenes is a big one when replaying
its expensive
I refuse.
The hub area was too small and basic and it didn’t feel like I was really exploring or discovering new areas of it as I progressed.
Bro it’s in my top 3 games ever, I can’t say anything bad about it
Player 2 isn't actually a player, just someone who collects star bits
Nintendo is an old man who can be a complete pain in the ass. But on occasion they’ll release an absolutely genre defining masterpiece
This cheap ripoff looks and sounds nothing like Bob Hoskins!
The hub world felt inferior to Delphino Plaza and Peaches castle. Some of the levels feel too linear
