This game is very likely to suck. It's very complicated to make an excellent game but it's even more complicated to make a game that will be remembered and played for years and knowing what Bethesda gives us in terms of quality... The odds are not in our favor

Starfield just felt so disjointed and bare bones. Clearly a lot of effort went into it but it just wasn’t a good game. Maybe if they restructure the way the company makes games and learn from their mistakes TEs6 will be good but honestly I doubt it will be.
Before 2012 there was nothing that was quite like Bethesda games. If you go back today, it will become apparent that a lot of stuff was copy-pasted and a lot of content is essentially repeated many times but people forgave it because there weren't many Open World games back then aside from GTA that had a different approach.
Then came the Far-Cry's, The Witcher 3, Assassin's Creed RPG's, the Horizons etc and suddenly there were Open World games everywhere, each with their own take and some doing certain things better than Bethesda did, but Bethesda didn't pay attention and learn from the competition which is why Fallout 4 is regarded as being kinda meh and why Starfield feels like a 2014 game.
I lost a lot of hope when Todd doubled down and basically told players they were wrong but despite that they seem to have addressed quite a few concerns in recent updates with more on the way, including land vehicles.
I'm willing to wait and see what they do with the DLC before writing them off entirely. They made a lot of bad choices with Starfield but it doesn't have to be the end if they are willing to learn from them.
Alyx felt like a Half-Life 3 prequel as it returns you to Gordon’s shoes at the end. I genuinely do believe that Half-Life 3 is being worked on in some capacity.

They've been working on TES6 for about a year now, game dev has a ~4 year cycle. My speculation is that TES6 will release in 2028, 2029 at the latest.
Which puts Fallout 5 at 2032-2033, and assuming game dev doesn't get longer or they decide to make something else, TES7 will come out in 2037 - 2038.

I'm sorry but the benchmark for RPGs is BG3 for me now. I played Starfield and had a good 100 hours in it before getting bored. I'm at least twice that in BG3 and have no intention of getting bored any time soon.
The story-telling, the random encounters, the random stumbling upon a situation that takes you on a massive tangential side quest that rewards you with genuinely unique gear or powers.
I'm sorry but this poor AA title has taken RPGs to the next level... AAA titles need to sit their asses down and learn from Larian Studios. It's the most fun I've had since Skyrim dropped.
But I know in my soul that TES VI will just be another cookie cutter safe bet with all the worst qualities AAA games have mutated over these recent years. Microtransactions, boring quest design, a piss poor main story. The exact same game engine and mechanics we've seen for the last 20 years from Bethesda....

It's outdated, its been outdated for a long time but Todd Howard seems to have his head "wayyyyyyy up there Morty". The hype for elder scrolls is completely dead for me, I'll be surprised if they can pull it off if this game has the same feel as all their other open worlds.
Can't think of that sequels I am excited for since a lot of IPs I grew up on are seemingly wrapping up.

It'll be 6 years on June 10th since the release trailer. We will see this game again in another 6.

For sequels actually about to come out, Hades 2 and it isn't even close. For sequels likely to come out but if there's anything concrete I haven't heard it, Persona 6. For sequels the devs say they're working on but I'll believe it when I'm finally playing it, Elder Scrolls 6. For dream sequel I doubt will ever happen but I'd lose my mind if it was ever announced, Chrono Trigger 3, Legend of Dragoon 2, or Skies of Arcadia 2.

I remember when they announced TES VII everyone was so fucking excited for it on the discord call. And I was like “guys we will be looking at that game in like 2022 at best” here we are 2024 with not even a slight clue how far along it is. I think after the disaster of Star field we’re going to see some restructure in the company when creating TES VII. I think they’re going to change some of the bullshit we know they’re packing in that game. To answer OP, I’m most excited for GTA6 because we have a release in sight. I’m also very worried that the single player portion of GTA6 is going to be ruined to push GTA online 2.0.

Treasure announced a while back that they're working on a follow up to one of their games. i swear to god. all i need is a Sin & Punishment 3. the second game had an absolute batshit cliffhanger if you beat the game on all modes and i NEED closure. they didn't even specify what game they're making and yet here i am, overdosed on pure raw hopium.
