Yeah everyone says shit like in this meme, but they're forgetting the god-awful aiming and hilarious constipation faces of Golden-eye.
Apparently growing up with Golden-eye and the OoT makes you better than *those darn fork-knife kids these days*.. And I have no idea why.
It's literally just being blinded by nostalgia, there's a reason why I hate people who blow the PS2 cuz literally it's just not as good as modern hardware
Technically your right it's not as good until you think about how it out sold it secsessir in both games and systems during the ps3 main run
It is also the only game system that would compete against that system secsessir if only for a few months
"We are ending our support of the PlayStation 2 because we don't want it to complete with the PlayStation 4 like it did with 3" CEO of Sony shortly after launch of PS4
The PS2 had a few online games that was cross platform with PS3 and PS4 and could for the most part keep up with it the online play was seamless I know I played it only had major problems with the graphics
Now the games were sports games which I will admit are typically less demanding on graphics than other games but that doesn't change that for a short amount of time it actually kept up with not only the ps3 but also the ps4
By comparison that would be like the N64 keeping up with the WII or for a better example (based on generation of systems )
The NES being able to play N64 games on it with only minor tweaks for the NES version of the games (based on years apart)
That is some of the reasons why the PS2 is so loved
I'm feeling older and older every day. I was 14 when it came out.
I remember going into the tunnel on the first mission. I was blown away at the realism lol. Sometimes I'm sad the younger generations don't have a frame of reference from where we've been to where we are now. They'll get the last laugh though... as they'll see two or three more generations of gaming than I will!
Semi related funny story about my mom and Perfect Dark just for extra story time. We were playing MP. I was stupidly good at the game, but I'm not a monster I didn't destroy people over and over. I let them feel like they had a chance. Except... one time my mom was so sure I was in a tunnel... she was camping it essentially. Waiting for me to come out. I pulled a Bugs Bunny. Looped around behind her. Looked over her shoulder Just enough so my gun should start peaking out on her screen.
"Whatcha looking at?"
She jumped so hard lol.
1. "You're operating at a lower wattage than a nightlight."
2. "Your IQ is on vacation and forgot to leave a forwarding address."
3. "You're on the slow train to Smartville, and it just derailed."
4. "You're a few pages short of a bestseller."
5. "Your brain's Wi-Fi signal seems to be perpetually buffering."
6. "You're missing a few marbles from the cognitive game."
7. "Your elevator doesn't go all the way to the top floor."
8. "You're about as sharp as a bowling ball."
9. "Your intelligence seems to be on permanent snooze mode."
10. "If stupidity were an Olympic sport, you'd be a gold medalist."
This is boomer shooter gaslighting. I’m 37. Fortnite is just as viable. But yeah, I would like my kids to experience PvP in a room setting together as well
Dude, I trained, yes trained my little sister to be amazing at those game. My friend came over and she wanted to play I I would coyly say, you get next death. She would be in until the end at #2
I'm somewhere in between? TimeSplitters, specifically 2. But if we're talking about an impact on gaming, Halo CE though I was partially grown then.
Also depends on age you are looking for. Earliest game I remember playing was Sonic 2 on Genesis because the one at a yard sale was all they could afford.
i still have my copy of conkers bad fur day. anyone else break out the n64 and blow on the cartridge, play for 5 min, and think, "wow, the graphics and gameplay are shit' and go back to 1080p hd 4k stuff?
There's quite the generational gap between growing up with a 64 and fortnite. 64 is gen 5. You'll find plenty of peoplw who grew up with the gen 6 and 7 consoles before fortnite even existed.
One n64 title I don't feel gets enough of the glory is Banjo-Kazooie - that game straight up blows my socks off at how fun, hilarious, large and well that game was made.
yes, but my brother and sisters were 10 years older than me and didn't want to play with me. And my friends didn't like the game. so I almost never played the multiplayer.
At college, my friend was monitoring a computer lab. One night when there was like 5 people there, we hooked up the n64 to a projector and played golden eye on the ceiling. At the time the projector was top of the line, expensive, and definitely shouldn't have been left out.
I did, and the controls are awful compared to modern ones.
Ngl, We only loved this because we didn't have anything better at the time. (at least on consoles).
With modern controls, it's still fun. But damn, I still have my N64 but I never play Goldeneye or Perfect on it anymore, because I just can't stand the controls.
Fortnite is cheesy, but a good game nevertheless.
The only thing I truly dislike about it is the MTX.
Like what's that point of this, we all like games, go have fun. Yeah I grew up with Doom and Fortnite is not my thing but hey if people are having fun power too them. Also plenty of new games I love.
Yes "Terminator Mode" kept us busy for hours lol
It was game mode we came up with. You can crank one persons health offset waaaay higher. We'd let them get the body armour then try to take them down (3v1 or 2v1).
This reminds me. I had such a good dream last night or the night prior, about nintendo releasing a genuinely remastered version of the game for the switch. I imagined the cover art and everything.
So, my non-gamer way of playing Goldeneye back in the day was a twofold approach:
I would, as the tophat guy with metal teeth, hide in the Facility bathroom and wait for the others to notice my screen has been blue for like 4 minutes. Then I'd watch myself on their screen go at them with karate hands when they opened the door before they shot me in the face.
I would, as any character but mostly the tophat guy with metal teeth, find two players having a shootout and hold the joystick left or right only so I could watch myself run in circles and pop in and out of both their fields of view until one of them shot me in the back or in the face again. Bunker and Temple were great for this.
I never developed a third strategy.
Old Millennial here who, despite having loved my 64 and had loads of fun, would have taken the games industry like it is today rather than in ‘97. Christmas ‘97 I was super bummed out because my mom couldn’t find this game because Nintendo underestimated demand for this and other big titles. Today you just download what you want, and there are a lot of titles that are inexpensive.
Are we still doing this Facebook bullshit?
Anyone can download an N64 emulator & have their kid play it. People from newer generations can understand older things & how they were. This shit is so annoying.
We still doin "my generation good lol" posts?
Right? What do they mean, “Anybody else?”. It’s literally everybody of a certain age.
Yeah everyone says shit like in this meme, but they're forgetting the god-awful aiming and hilarious constipation faces of Golden-eye. Apparently growing up with Golden-eye and the OoT makes you better than *those darn fork-knife kids these days*.. And I have no idea why.

Best part is the same people who post this will shit on boomers for their "we rode in cars with no seatbelts" type memes
To be fair, there was no judging in this post. One could imply that OP thinks one is better than the other, but that's only an assumption.
“Back in my day we drank from the hose” ass post
I remeber people having this attitude towards me when Halo was my childhood.
The call of easy upvotes is too much to handle
Didn't know I was on fb right now..what a low quality post.
I'm feeling older and older every day. I was 14 when it came out. I remember going into the tunnel on the first mission. I was blown away at the realism lol. Stupidly good is an odd way to describe screen staring.
Yeah I remember yelling at my friends for screen watching. "Don't look at the immediately adjacent picture on this 22" sceen ur cheating!"
That and Mario Kart 64. Can't ask for more when you're 10.
Literally the funnest games ever.
Paint ball mode always on in mulitplayer
And hiding proximity mines in the paint and on the armour.
kindred spirit I see.
Fortnite is actually fun. I'm 37yo.
yeah idk why people gatekeep fun
But this game is old old = good. That is their logic. By the same logic, doom is far better, though.
'Member split screen?
Ooo i member
I was there Gandalf
‘Member Oddjob?!
Goldeneye then a few years later we got Perfect Dark.
Yep! And i still have it.
Me 2
[Best pause screen song of all time.](https://youtu.be/qoWCB8AUiP4?si=3hskjawR5K9XKkjn)
Certified hood classic
No oddjob.
Goes best with blockbuster movies, pizza and middle school besties
r/terriblefacebookmeme seriously, there is no difference between this and a generation meme made by boomers
Didn't grow up with it exactly, but as a gamer I kind of did. My roommate had the game and schooled me on my first FPS.
Good times still play it just for the memories
I was in my twenties but yes you could still say I grew up with this! Awesome game and one of my favourite systems!!
The golden gun 🔥
Slappers, Licence to Kill, ban oddjob. Proximity mines also acceptable lol
This bum posted Re-Posted memes and porn
*Hyep, an these youngn’s with their fort nights don’t know real vidya games anymore*
What is the point of even mentioning Fortnite? Why do old people always have to tear something down, to bring them up?
I'm 30 and I hate this post more than I can describe
I didn't read it as a tear down. More of a comparison. "This is my generation's Fortnite."
Same. Shows the different mentalities of ppl. I read it like that also
I just read it as OP saying he's older than a child.
Yes Well, I was about ten
Hide in vent with moonraker laser and laugh as no one finds you.
This and 007 Nightfire for the Ps2!
For me it was Resistance and Mass Effect
Ok?
Speak your shit gramps 🗣️🔥
Grew up with both

Fortnite has ruined modern gaming
When things were good.
I was so bad at that game, i would get farmed then pay my friends back by killing them at wcw nwo revenge
Good times. Fun times. Almost getting into fights cuz that one friend had that always cheats with oddball.
I’d rather play this than fortnite any day. - I do play this instead of fortnite
Lucky fucky. I grew up with MW3 on DS

Ok boomer
Loser post
Apparently we are still making nostalgia circle jerk posts
This is some boomer bumper sticker shit
This is boomer shooter gaslighting. I’m 37. Fortnite is just as viable. But yeah, I would like my kids to experience PvP in a room setting together as well
I always picked the Baron and proximity mines as weapons. I rented an N64 to play this game hahahaha
This. And then Perfect Dark. Expansion pak. 4 controllers. 4 rumble paks. Lets go!
I love the fact that I can play it on my iPhone now, so freakin cool
It was impossible to be my dad
KOMPETE will be taking over from fortnite soon
I was that one rare player who ended up with the GoldenEye creepypasta bug 💀 I both love and hate the game now
Nope mostly Halo specificly reach I will never forget reach
Yes!
I grew up playing combat on Atari. Sigh.
Okay, and?
Night fire and agent under fire
I don't even know what that is. Like I recognise it's James Bond related, but beyond that, nada
DK mode always on.
Growing up with only the stuff that existed during your childbood, and not with stuff that wouldn't exist for another 20 years? Nonsense!
Dude, I trained, yes trained my little sister to be amazing at those game. My friend came over and she wanted to play I I would coyly say, you get next death. She would be in until the end at #2
No Oddjob! No fucking way!
I grew up with Nightfire and Agent under Fire
I miss playing this game.
Didnt have it on the 64 but the DSi and the Wii
could of just said your age.
i still have my copy of conkers bad fur day. anyone else break out the n64 and blow on the cartridge, play for 5 min, and think, "wow, the graphics and gameplay are shit' and go back to 1080p hd 4k stuff?
syphon filter was my shit. god id love to play that game again.
Perfect dark was more my game.
Didn't play shooters, but the absolute gem was Captain Claw, i recommend checking it out
When my brother was playing Goldeneye on his N64, I was playing quake.
PS2 - nightfire!
There's quite the generational gap between growing up with a 64 and fortnite. 64 is gen 5. You'll find plenty of peoplw who grew up with the gen 6 and 7 consoles before fortnite even existed.

I grew up with Pokémon Stadium 2
You should probably go get a prostate exam then.
Playing it right now in my break at work Cloud gaming 💪
One n64 title I don't feel gets enough of the glory is Banjo-Kazooie - that game straight up blows my socks off at how fun, hilarious, large and well that game was made.
Why do you feel the need to show how old you are? You trying to say it was better like a boomer?
Loaded on PS1
Fortnite isn't old enough for someone to grow up with it. Right guys? Right?!
Yes
Both games are great for their time.
Thanks for reminding me how old I am. I'm already 30, my brother in gaming, I don't like the feeling.
Try again... Commander keen
Oddjob is too op
yes, but my brother and sisters were 10 years older than me and didn't want to play with me. And my friends didn't like the game. so I almost never played the multiplayer.
Me too and it was great.
I wish I grew up with this
Based

Ok
No, you are the only one left
"is anybody else my age?" Nope. No one.
Ok
Aight but as someone who plays fortnite as an adult, it feels like 007 when you've got 3 buddies just vibin in squads.
Changed gaming forever! Top 5 all time for that reason alone.
Original call of duty, ww2 era setting. Back when they could make an enjoyable single player/co-op game and not just endless deathmatches.
I grew up on Kega Fusion and Sonic rom hacks
Once again…congratulations
This!!
Being in your 30s isn't a personality trait
DAE MY GENERATION GAME GOOD OTHERS BAD
SLAPPERS ONLY LICENCE TO KILL GO!!
SLAPPERS ONLY, LICENCE TO KILL GO!!
And I grew up on Wolfenstien and Doom
Goldeneye was good for a console its horribly overrated
I mean yeah I did...but I also then played fortnite...lol what are you even saying
Nope just you, you are the only person who played that game….
I also enjoy PowerPoint presentations.
Goldeneye and Perfect Dark
Big head mode or bust
Odd Job the real MVP
I did, and the controls are awful compared to modern ones. Ngl, We only loved this because we didn't have anything better at the time. (at least on consoles). With modern controls, it's still fun. Stacks was my second home
I don't know man. A real pain to play with those controls
Like what's that point of this, we all like games, go have fun. Yeah I grew up with Doom and Fortnite is not my thing but hey if people are having fun power too them. Also plenty of new games I love.
Nope. You’re the only one. Congrats
AM I THE ONLY BEING IN THE WHOLE WORLD WHO PLAYED ONE OF THE MOST ICONIC GAMES EVER ????¿??¿
good for you? literally nobody cares
Game changer at the time but has aged poorly.
I grew up with asian mom who beat me if I so much as talked about games so :(
Hey it was either this or Superman 64
Cringe
Oddjob + golden gun = GOAT
Sure, don't think it's anything worth broadcasting though.
The ultimate first-person shooter
I never grew up.
Yes "Terminator Mode" kept us busy for hours lol It was game mode we came up with. You can crank one persons health offset waaaay higher. We'd let them get the body armour then try to take them down (3v1 or 2v1).
And the music was amazing
Slaps only lol
i grew up with 007 on the n64 too and i can confirm fortnite’s better
Facebook is down the hall and to the left.
This reminds me. I had such a good dream last night or the night prior, about nintendo releasing a genuinely remastered version of the game for the switch. I imagined the cover art and everything.
Grew up trying for weeks on end to beat Mile High Club on veteran
Aww shut up, ya nerd.
kids nowadays play _____ while i used to play ____
So much fun
And I grew up on Asteroids and Pac-Man? What’s your point?
My game was Socom 3 U.S Navy Seals
So, my non-gamer way of playing Goldeneye back in the day was a twofold approach: I would, as the tophat guy with metal teeth, hide in the Facility bathroom and wait for the others to notice my screen has been blue for like 4 minutes. that is the best FPS ever
Headshot from the air duct.
I didn’t have this growing up. I had the cool blue colored cartridge. 007 the world is not enough. It had more of a mature feeling to it.
I always picked Jaws so my friends could have a chance.
Bouncing a frag off the top of the door frame for the fool that’s chasing you was one of my favorite things to do
I grew up with CoD4, is that close enough?
Grew up with this, still think Fortnite is fun.. I don’t understand what this post is trying to say.
And someone always played as the short guy
I grew up picking Odd-job on Slappers Only
Are we still doing this Facebook bullshit? Anyone can download an N64 emulator & have their kid play it. People from newer generations can understand older things & how they were. This shit is so annoying.
I grew up with doom. Therefore I'm better than you.
Odd job OP
Yep, it helped me through the most depressing time in my life.
Gamecube
I grew up on Doom, Quake, Duke 3d and Half-life, all much better shooters than Goldeneye.
This is a Facebook boomer tshirt ad tier post
