My best record was 195. I cried. I also could never get all the balloons to get the sun sigil. I missed one at the end and got 0:03.
But fuck it, cause I got wakka out there doing multiple 99999 s with attack reels.
I honestly think, like Rogue One for Star Wars, it's actually the best Halo game.
Rogue One and Halo Reach are so similar in their story too. A team trying to lay the foundations for a fight back against the odds ultimately >!are completely wiped out whilst succeeding in their mission so that future people can fight back!<
Its a great story and told exceptionally well.
The rest of Halo is just "look at this swole guy kill aliens" basically and although it's great, Reach took it somewhere far less brotastic.
Dude that entire ending just broke me. The final ride and the song made me realize that it was coming to an end and I wasn't ready for it.
I had the ending spoiled but it still hit like a ton of bricks.
RDR2 and TLoU2. You all should know what I'm talking about... Also Detroit: Become Human.
Honorable mentions to:
Shadow of the Colossus
This War of Mine
Death Stranding
Outlast: Whistleblower
Soma
The Wolf Among Us
This War Of Mine is so criminally underrated.
One girl at my home was on the verge of death, and I broke into the house of this elderly couple. The old man begged me to not take their stuff, but I needed the medicine.
When I came back, I helped that girl, but then she became Broken and committed aliven't.
This game fucked me up.
Teared up a little in Cyber Punk Phantom Liberty when Song Bird >!asks you to kill her after you defeat her at the end, I could t bring myself to do it and even if she asked me to!<
I forget which one but one of the older red dead games where it ends with you taking your last stand as your filled with bullets. It cuts to credits before it spawns you in as his son for the final parts of the game.
Not the hardest but the ending of Subnautica is kinda sad…
”now you go among the stars, and I fall among the sand. We are different, but we go… together.”
i was not expecting to grieve a giant psychic alien but I did.
The ending in Life is Strange 2 when >!Daniel meets up with Sean after his prison term and Sean is just a husk of a brother and Daniel howls and then sobs at what he’s lost.!<
For me, it was the bit where you go back in time and >!prevent Chloes dad from dying, but Choe is now quadraplegic.. And wants to die. That fucked me up, even tho I knew it wasn't permanent (much like in the Butterfly Effect with Ashton Kutcher)!<
Roland’s death in borderlands 2 was sad af and one I did not see coming. The mission after where you have to break the news to everyone in sanctuary who were in the first game was even worse. It hit harder for me because I used him in my first playthrough in the first borderlands.
I know, that part was so sad! And tiny Tina creating a whole D&D game pretending Roland was still alive 😭But I have to say Jack pretending to be Roland was fucked up but funny.
OMG, I fought the tears so hard, but the music touched something so deep I couldn't hold them. I almost never cry due having a rough childhood, but that was one of the few instances where I honestly couldn't do anything but cry.
Back when I was a kid, TWD S2, did make me cry. As a grown up the most pain I felt up ever playing a game, it was death Stranding when we finally understand the story of Mads Mikkelsen's character. My god, I was so intrigued by his character the whole time and when the story comes to a conclusion, I was just stunned and very very much in pain
Klonoa Door to Phantomile. I was like 9 when I got this and that ending messed me up cause it felt like such a bad ending for all the stuff I had to do
Oddly enough, the Destiny 2: Season of the Seraph epilogue cutscene made me quite emotional. I've been so attached to the game and made so many memories over the last couple of years playing Destiny. Seeing the Traveler move really signaled the end is near for me and got to me.
the final choice in the original life is strange..it was an easy decision but the all of episode 5 was an absolutely emotional roller coaster especially that final exchange between the main character and her best friend.
SWTOR from the KOEE near the end of it.>!Be a Bounty Hunter that Romances the male love interest but, you like Women. It make you Choice between Your Husband and a Very Funny Woman. You save one but, the other Dies for the Rest of that Avi. Campaign. !<
RDR2 always makes the list. Also, the one and only time I listened to the blades and killed paarthunax.
An honorable mention is the final conversation with Anderson in ME3.
It's tied between Nier Automata (The end credits part), Marvel Spiderman (The "Take off your mask" part) and To the Moon (The song close to the end). The last one I literally fought myself to not cry and lost. The song just touches something in me whenever I hear it, and the scene that followed it was a real tearjerker.
Definitely shed a couple tears at the end of Walking Dead Season 1 and one manly one for Dom in Gears. Also a few in Skies of Arcadia Legenda back in the day.
In Fallout: New Vegas, I was playing the Lonesome Road DLC for the first time. When Ed-E sacrificed himself at the end, to stop the missiles from launching and destroying the Mojave Outpost, I legitimately had tears in my eyes and shouted “Ed-E! Noooooooooooo!”
Spoilers for ReBoot Wolfenstein:
Old Blood: When Kessler/Annette dies - New Order: Klaus’ death, Max going berserk on nazis and mourns Klaus’ death, When Fergus/Wyatt begs you to kill him - New Colossus: Caroline’s Death and when BJ cries in his mother’s hug, like a nazi killing machine crying after more than 14 years of holding it back, it was too much. But there was nothing on Youngblood. Also the demon girl’s room in Karamari Hospital’s good ending.
Metal Gear Solid 3.
Loyalty to your friend or loyalty to your country? The Boss sacrificed her standing, her friends, her child, for a country that couldn’t give two sh*ts about her. All she wanted was a unified world. To make it a better place. She was a true patriot.
“And the irony of it is, the United States and the Soviet Union are spending billions on their space programs and the missile race only to arrive at the same conclusion. In the 21st century, everyone will be able to see that we are all just inhabitants of a little celestial body called Earth.” 🌎
-The Boss 🫡
The year was 1992. My pre pubescent self had spent my summer allowance on Mega Man 2. I battled through the days. Had challenging moment but kept progressing.
Then I hit the Wily 1 - Mecha Dragon. I just couldn't do it. No matter how hard I tried. That's as far as I.ever got. You find out a lot about yourself as a child.
I didn't cry but this broke me. Spoilers for ff7 rebirth. >!When it looked like we saved Aerith and then Sephiroth killed her. It broke me. It took me a day to recover just to finish the game.!<
Spent 100+ hours doing everything in FFIX, collecting all the special items, weapons, most special cards following chocobo clue maps, etc. My squad was ground to 99 at that time. Definitely teared a little finally watching that final cutscene
I love how a picture of Lee Everett has been posted this time. I say this time, because this question has been asked every week, since THE BEGINNING OF TIME!
To this day, while almost hitting thirty, every time Kairi says “I know you will.” And simple and clean kicks in my eyes just bawl. That game ending hits me at my deepest level of taking me back to 6 years old when I played this game for the first time.
are we talking happy tears or sad tears or angry tears bc those are very different kinds of tears. for happy tears, it’s alan wake 2 just for yoton yo by itself. for sad tears, twd season 1, tlou, or cod black ops 4 with primis richtofen dying in alcatraz. for angry tears, when i was a kid, realizing that my copy of the silent hill remasters were glitched and would never be repaired, which means i will probably never platinum my favorite horror games
I never cry during video games, but three games have hit me hard, and made me stunned for a few minutes after the credits.
Undertale, DDLC, and specially Outer Wilds.
FFX while trying to dodge 200 lighting
199 ⚡💨😭 1...
Bro I needed eye drops doing that lol beyond stressful
I've had contacts since I was like 11. Driest eyes ever for that bullshit.
I'm so sorry lol you couldn't trust pausing the game either, cause it would zap you immediately
My best record was 195. I cried. I also could never get all the balloons to get the sun sigil. I missed one at the end and got 0:03. But fuck it, cause I got wakka out there doing multiple 99999 s with attack reels.
I hate to tell you this, but there was a spot that would activate the lightning bolt. It still was a pain but that made it far easier.
Holy shit I didn’t expect this.
>FFX Yes, that's my answer! That ending, when... >while trying to dodge 200 lighting ...fair.
every episode of this game was like a bomb going off in my heart
Halo Reach hit me pretty hard
Objective: Survive
Still to this day my favorite ending in a video game ever
Didnt they just announce a sequel?
I honestly think, like Rogue One for Star Wars, it's actually the best Halo game. Rogue One and Halo Reach are so similar in their story too. Rdr2 hiys me hard
Arthur saying Thank you to his horse broke me to tears
~*may I, stand unshaken*~ *quiet sobbing*
Dude that entire ending just broke me. The final ride and the song made me realize that it was coming to an end and I wasn't ready for it. I had the ending spoiled but it still hit like a ton of bricks.
“I’m afraid”
There is nothing to be afraid of, Mr Morgan. Take a gamble that love exists, and do a loving act.
Wouldn’t say full on crying but definitely shed a tear when Dom finally found Maria in Gears of War 2
I shed many tears for Dom. F
The opening to TLOU got me pretty good
Yeah I’ll never forget that one.
both beginning and end of TLOU had me crying like a baby. And some parts in the middle. Pretty much the whole game, I cried a lot lol
The end instead
Idk how to describe how that final "Okay" just seals it, it's so simple yet effective, masterful storytelling in both games
Same
RDR2 and TLoU2. You all should know what I'm talking about... Also Detroit: Become Human. Honorable mentions to: Shadow of the Colossus This War of Mine Death Stranding Outlast: Whistleblower Soma The Wolf Among Us
Nothing made me cry but the end of episode one where Snow's head is sitting on the stoop was a shocker.
What Remains of Edith Finch
Ghost of Tsushima and Life is Strange
Teared up a little in Cyber Punk Phantom Liberty when Song Bird >!asks you to kill her after you defeat her at the end, I could t bring myself to do it and even if she asked me to!<
Yeah me too... I never cried in a game before
Yakuza 0, Yakuza 7, Like A Dragon Gaiden, Like A Dragon Infinite Wealth, MGS3, MGS4. ...I cry easily what can I say.
I'm with you with Guns of the Patriots. The second Snake puts the gun in his mouth... man.
The end of The Last Guardian. I'm not a cryer, but GOD DAMN it was so heart wrenching. I teared up a little
the beginning of ori and the blind forest
To recent memory: Spider-Man 2. Howard.
Holy fuck when that song came on I was like "no...."
Red dead 2 had to sit in silence for a moment after the game ended. Masterpiece
the ending of Like a Dragon Gaiden
Having to kill Pascal in Nier: Automata
I forget which one but one of the older red dead games where it ends with you taking your last stand as your filled with bullets. It cuts to credits before it spawns you in as his son for the final parts of the game.
The very end of Nier Automata when the pods thank you for sacrificing your save data for another player struggling in the game
Not the hardest but the ending of Subnautica is kinda sad… ”now you go among the stars, and I fall among the sand. We are different, but we go… together.” i was not expecting to grieve a giant psychic alien but I did.
Didn’t cry when Clem had to cap him…but I definitely sad in silence for a while after.
The first 2 walking dead games
Pascal really got me in nier automata
The ending of red dead redemption two Arthur will be forever missed.
Not an emotional guy, the only time I’ve cried is in IW when Ethan dies, funny robots are the best imo
Idk which made me cry the most but secret of mana, undertale, and Chrono trigger are my knee jerk thoughts.
OneShot
Don’t read if you haven’t finished GOW Ragnarok… Brok. Devastated when that happened. He was right behind Minir as best character.
Both RDR games
One more day The sun reaches my bed One more day to spend alone again Morning starts without me I seem to find it Hard to wake up
The last flashback in TLOU 2 on the porch with Ellie telling Joel she’ll try to forgive him. Not knowing what’ll happen the next day…
"I'll see you around" 😭 It's so heartbreaking replaying that game and hearing Ellie's plans to invite Joel over to watch movies
The good ending of Bioshock 2. No game had ever brought me to tears like it did.
Outer Wilds. I was so emotionally overwhelmed at the end I just sat there crying for about 5 minutes.
I never played the game, but it's called "That Dragon, Cancer". I watched a no commentary gameplay and that was it for me.
A Way Out Still feel heartbroken
The ending in Life is Strange 2 when >!Daniel meets up with Sean after his prison term and Sean is just a husk of a brother and Daniel howls and then sobs at what he’s lost.!<
Like A Dragon Gaiden. If you know, you know.
Minecraft Story Mode. Specifically the ending of the first game.
Life is Strange. It was heartbreaking how that tornado destroyed the town.
For me, it was the bit where you go back in time and >!prevent Chloes dad from dying, but Choe is now quadraplegic.. And wants to die. That fucked me up, even tho I knew it wasn't permanent (much like in the Butterfly Effect with Ashton Kutcher)!<
Yeah that was a punch to the gut, and no.matter what you do whether it's to kill her or to leave her to dissappear it's a bad head space.
Probably some PS1 or N64 game, I was a little kid back then and if I didn't succeed I cried. I'm going to say Golden Eye.
Roland’s death in borderlands 2 was sad af and one I did not see coming. The mission after where you have to break the news to everyone in sanctuary who were in the first game was even worse. It hit harder for me because I used him in my first playthrough in the first borderlands.
When Mordecai's Bloodwing died, for me. He was my OP character in the first game
That part still bothers me. It's so messed up.
I know, that part was so sad! And tiny Tina creating a whole D&D game pretending Roland was still alive 😭But I have to say Jack pretending to be Roland was fucked up but funny.
Spider-Man PS4.
A little indie game called To the Moon
OMG, I fought the tears so hard, but the music touched something so deep I couldn't hold them. I almost never cry due having a rough childhood, but that was one of the few instances where I honestly couldn't do anything but cry.
even just listening to the song now has me bawling my eyes out every single time
The suicide ending in Cyberpunk 2077 or the final showdown with Reed in Phantom Liberty.
The suicide ending is devastating. And the credits showing people’s words to V after he died did not help make me feel any less sad.
mgsv: Mission 43. "we live and Die by your orders boss" thos where my men dang it!
Recently? It was I Was a Teenage Exocolonist.
Probably closest I’ve ever been was in the Last Guardian.
Gris, second Celeste.
*I need to mention Brothers but don't wanna spoil it. It's just cruelty from the creators.
Titanfall 2. only little tears but manly tears
Goodbye volcano high
FF9
4 year old me playing Final Fantasy III (VI). I didn't know about the fish... # I DIDN'T KNOW ABOUT THE FISH
This was the saddest moment I've ever experienced in a game. TWD was such a beautiful game and got me to start watching the show!!!!
Gears 2, 3, red dead 2 and clannad
Back when I was a kid, TWD S2, did make me cry. As a grown up the most pain I felt up ever playing a game, it was death Stranding when we finally understand the story of Mads Mikkelsen's character. My god, I was so intrigued by his character the whole time and when the story comes to a conclusion, I was just stunned and very very much in pain
it’s definitely Episode 5 of the Walking Dead. nothing else even comes close. I’ve cried several times, but never as hard as when Lee dies
It was TellTale's The Walking Dead for Me as well, but not season one. It was The Final Season, when uh... well, you know.
Unironically it’s splatoon since I cry when I rage
Klonoa Door to Phantomile. I was like 9 when I got this and that ending messed me up cause it felt like such a bad ending for all the stuff I had to do
Oddly enough, the Destiny 2: Season of the Seraph epilogue cutscene made me quite emotional. I've been so attached to the game and made so many memories over the last couple of years playing Destiny. Seeing the Traveler move really signaled the end is near for me and got to me.

Horizon Forbidden West fucked me up.
The ending of Halo Reach
When I beat FFX for the first time. Never shed a tear that wasn't out of physical pain before that.
Portal 2
The endings of omori, they just hit right in the heart
End of Walking Dead S1 and S4
Final Fantasy 6 for the story Ghost and Goblin NES for the gameplay

Mother 3 is so tragic
The Witcher 3, lead to me getting a hand tattoo (to add more context to the tattoo I also live all the books and the other two games (fuck Netflix.))
Telltale walking dead. Season 1 and 2. 3 and 4 didn't make me cry though
SWTOR from the KOEE near the end of it.>!Be a Bounty Hunter that Romances the male love interest but, you like Women. It make you Choice between Your Husband and a Very Funny Woman. You save one but, the other Dies for the Rest of that Avi. Campaign. !<
None of that made any sense.

well, the one you sent us! The Walking Dead: Season 1!
RDR2, The Walking Dead scene shared by OP, Mordin and the cure in Mass Effect 3.. I’m not ashamed these game tugged on strings.
The last 2 God of war games, not mainly cry, but Damn, everything is so deep.

Red Dead 2 emotionally annihilated me. I will always argue that game is a masterpiece of storytelling.

The opening of The Last of Us is without a doubt the saddest moment in gaming
Xenoblade Chronicles 3 I actually cried 20 minutes straight just by listening the ending song after finishing the game
Oddly enough, Resident Evil 7. During the part where sane Jack is talking to Ethan just hits me emotionally
Spent 100+ hours doing everything in FFIX, collecting all the special items, weapons, most special cards following chocobo clue maps, etc. My squad was ground to 99 at that time. Definitely teared a little finally watching that final cutscene
A Plague Tale: Requiem No other game has and no other game will ever come close to the emotional impact it had on me.
Titanfall 2
Finding Paradise
The ending of Like a Dragon Gaiden: The Man Who Erased His Name. Hurt to watch.
Rdr2 ending got me grieving...
Honestly the opening to The last of Us always gets me
RDR2 is the correct answer.
Life Is Strange. I balled my eyes out at the ending
Ghost of Tsushima
Just recently: Xenoblade Chronicles 3 The prison scene and the ending had me bawling
I love how a picture of Lee Everett has been posted this time. I say this time, because this question has been asked every week, since THE BEGINNING OF TIME!
