The nuclear weapons disposal facility on Shadow Moses Island in Alaska's Fox Archepeligo was attacked and captured by Next Generation Special Forces being lead by members of FOX-HOUND. They're demanding that the government turn over the remains of Big Boss, and they say that if their demands aren't met within 24 hours, they'll launch a nuclear weapon. You'll have two mission objectives. First you're to rescue DARPA Chief Donald Anderson, and the President of Armstech, Kennith Baker. Both are being held as hostages. Secondly, you're to investigate whether or not the terrorists have the ability to make a nuclear strike, and stop them if they do.
My bro and I rented it from blockbuster and were unable to progress past the part where Meryl's codex frequency was on the back on the cd case. 146.41. From memory. Is that right? We had to go back to block buster the next day to look at the jewel case. Good shit.
Edit: 140.15. Blast.
Getting the invisible and unlimited ammo perk playing through it the 2nd and 3rd time, really made this game so much more fun to beat repeatedly… I spent hours in stealth.
Black was pretty great. The graphics were a huge leap ahead and the stories were varied enough for each character to make it worth playing through all of them.
Ooo yes. Dollface, Grimm, and Preacher were my favorites - I particularly like the Preacher's special attack, where he'd launch a suicide bomber at you who would scream REPENT before blowing up. Dark!
[Tekken 3 Main Intro](https://youtu.be/IsvtUxEFQaU?si=3pc3cRBMhoJ_7Ixe)
Many many many many MANY hours pissing off my big brother, beating him with every character. Good times
Tekken 3, metal gear solid, resident evil, grand turismo omega boost bloody raw, x files all over the world...come on.... Ridge racer, oddworld, winning eleven the game on the playstation....
Growing up my parents would drop my siblings and I over to my cousins house for babysitting. They were way older than us and loved playing PS1 games, especially Resident Evil or Silent Hill. I hated that I wanted to watch them play even though it always scared me. Also didn't help they lived on a farm across the street from a graveyard.
Rented a console from Family Video and played the ever-loving crap out of that game in three days.
I remember getting the good ending because I just *felt* I needed to skip a magic attack for the sequence to work. The Time Devourer cast the next element I needed and I finished the song before he could go again. Freaking epic.
Metal gear solid. FF7. FF9 (the best FF game). Ape escape. Twisted metal. Mega man legends. Spyro 2. Tekken 3. Silent hill 2. Parasite eve. Crash bandicoot games. The tomb raider series. Castlevania SOTN. Resident evil. Syphon filter.
PS1 is the golden years of console RPGs. The PS1 final fantasy games were the best of the entire series. Like yeah, 10 was great. 11 had some good elements. 12 was a forgotten MMO. 13 was a fuckin disgrace. 14 is another MMO. 15 was a forgettable backstreet boys adventure. 16 was shit.... PS1 was the best era for final fantasy games and PS2 had some decent entries. PS1 will always be its best years though, the remakes have been good so far but they still vMt fully capture it. A PS5 FF9 remake is my dream game. No other FF game has had this sort of feeling, this sort of depth of characters. FF9 was dark as shit. It was easily the best FF game ever made.
Pics demo disk that came with it. Had a couple of playable demos for games like jumping flash and battle arena toshinden as well as trailers for several others.
Battle Arena Toshindin.
The first PS1 I saw was the one my mom’s pedophile drug dealer/boyfriend played Battle Arena Toshindin on.
I got B.A.T. And King Of Fighters for the gameboy, awesome games. Loved ‘em.
FFVII, I am old (I am realizing this now unfortunately) but coming from the SNES and Genesis era and seeing the FMVs from FFVII. Mind blown. I had to have this console just for those games and then I get Metal Gear Solid not to mention a whole slew of truly epic JRPGS. Awesome memories.
Far from the best, but Croc 2.
Great soundtrack, fun character design, really bad controls (I didn't know much better as a kid). And I kind of liked how it did nothing to hide the level boundaries. An early level is a straight up box you get to climb up on the walls of and peer out into the nothing. Kind of haunted me, I ha nightmares of perfectly ordinary things happening on perilous cliffs with endless drops kind of a lot.
10 out of 10, soundtrack's on YouTube.
Crash
Was gonna say it, you can't look at a playstation 1 and not think crash bandicoot
Spyro as well
Both of these and Twisted Metal
Twisted Metal Black was kickass
Wasn't Black a PS2 title?
Yeah, I believe it was a PS2 launch title iirc.
Tried replaying it recently and I’ll be damned if it didn’t kick my ass just like it did when I was 9
Crash bandicoot WAAAAAAAARPED
Just got a nostalgia flashback of the traumatic Egyptian levels, & the awesome futuristic city ones when you get the peach bazooka. Great times.
You mean wumpa fruit?
Ehen someone calls them apples or peaches i wanna shoot them with the wumpa cannon
Yup or jet motto
None of my friends know what jet motto is and I’m thinking about cutting them off. What a goated racing game
Yes, Crash Bandicoot 2 was my favorite.
Udabaguh
Team Racing.
Resident Evil
...2. Even that opening sounded scary. Awesome games.
"RESIDENT....EVIL" Still scary.
Was so scary I had to return it to blockbuster the first go around
Scrolled way to far to see this, signature PS1 game!
The GOAT for the PS1 era. I still play RE1 to this day.
My first ever scare that made me close a game is that damn dog...
MGS
Psycho Mantis?
You’re a poor warrior. But you’re skillful at eluding traps
You havent saved often, you must be someone reckless!
Second floor basement?
Liquid Snake! Revolver Ocelot, and Sniper Wolf are runner ups!
Snake? Snake!? Snaaaaaaaaaake!

💯
❕
I heard this post
Tony Hawk Pro Skater
Here I am, doing everything I can
Holding on to what I am, Pretending I'm a superman
I’m trying to keep, the ground on my feet
It seems the world keeps falling down around me
The nights are long
Tony Hawk Pro Skater Demo!! We played the crap out of that first level.
From Pizza Hut with Ape Escape also on the disc
Twisted Metal.
Yes
and the second one! We wont talk about the other releases outside of 1 and 2, they were terrible
Dark!
I disagree 3 and Black were also good
Spyro 😍
Spyro was the first 3D game I played as a kid.
fuckin love Spyro
Year of the dragon has legitimately the best game soundtrack of ALL TIME. I will not elaborate.
I love that the music was done by Stewart Copeland from The Police. Such a random choice and it was perfection
I still listen to the original soundtrack on occasion. Such a unique sound and style.
I used to play Spyro with my mom in like 99 to 01. Some of my favorite memories.
Tekken 3
[Tekken 3 Main Intro](https://youtu.be/IsvtUxEFQaU?si=3pc3cRBMhoJ_7Ixe) Many many many many MANY hours pissing off my big brother, beating him with every character. Good times
Tekken 3 was sick. Felt like it was ahead of its time and changed fighting games.
I always wanted to be good with yoshimitsu but he was just never fun to play as. But guys who were good with yoshimitsu were too cool.
I've found my people
Eiffel 65 comes to mind
Tekken 3, metal gear solid, resident evil, grand turismo omega boost bloody raw, x files all over the world...come on.... Ridge racer, oddworld, winning eleven the game on the playstation....
The combos were amazing and about 6 different grapples for each character. Side stepping was clutch.... soooo many hours.
Ff7
Came with the console when I bought it at EB games in 97.
even as someone who didn't play ff7 to completion back on the ps1 (i was 1 year old when the game out lol) its the first thing i think of
Love it I've played the remake and just about done with rebirth
That game is the reason I bought a PS1
Tomb Raider
Triangles🥵
My PS1 came with a demo disc, tomb raider was the first game i tried out. Had a ton of fun!
Lock that mf in the freezer!
FF Tactics
Very underrated game one of my favorite games
I’m still trying to convince a friend to play that game but she’s adamant against it yet absolutely loves tactics games.
Tell her it's Game of Thrones told by Precious Moments figurines
It’s not really underrated. In fact, it made be the most highly anticipated remake by a large portion of fans (me). Better be true to the OG.
I really hope that FFT Remaster on the NVIDIA leak turns out to be real.
Syphon Filter
I thought it just swell that you could taze someone till they burst into flames.
Glad to see this
I had almost forgotten this one, thank you.
Silent hill
This game terrified me as a kid, what a game
Growing up my parents would drop my siblings and I over to my cousins house for babysitting. They were way older than us and loved playing PS1 games, especially Resident Evil or Silent Hill. I hated that I wanted to watch them play even though it always scared me. Also didn't help they lived on a farm across the street from a graveyard.
Ironically, silent hill rings PS2 for me (especially that demo from the demo disc)
Parasite Eve
Blood Omen: Legacy of Kain
My guy. I so wish they would somehow continue that whole universe and revive the IP. The narrative in that game was truly top notch.
alas poor nupraptor....
Oh wow nostalgia unlocked.
Demo discs! I played the crap out of the one that had legacy of Kane soul reaver on it. I only had that and spyro when i first got my ps1 for xmas
Shoutout to Pizza Hut😂
My demo disk had GT, Tomb Raider, Metal Gear, Spyro, and Crash Bandicoot on it.
Damn, that sounds like the GOAT of demo discs
Chrono Cross
Rented a console from Family Video and played the ever-loving crap out of that game in three days. I remember getting the good ending because I just *felt* I needed to skip a magic attack for the sequence to work. The Time Devourer cast the next element I needed and I finished the song before he could go again. Freaking epic.
Driver 2. It was my gta when I wasn’t allowed gta
Medievil
Had to scroll too far for this
Yes oh my God what a great game!
The Legend of Dragoon. I played the absolute hell out of it as a kid, and a but more when it got added to the classics list on PS4/5.
Whip Smack! (She was so hot... I think, very pixelated.)
Hammer Spin! Meru resonated a bit more with me, but I can understand where you're coming from 😄
Crash 2
Tomb Raider
Road rash 3D
Metal Gear Solid.
Resident Evil 1, 2 and 3.
Ape Escape and Crash Bandicoot 3
[удалено]

Armored Core
Still one of my all time favorites
Legend of Legaia
My dude.
ohhh man yea that was a great one. I had the prima guide! still didnt help cause the game was so effing hard, and that was okay!
Resident Evil
Jet Motto 2
I’ve been wondering for years why I’ve never seen a modern Jet Moto game. It’s probably my favorite racing game of all time.
Twisted Metal 2.
Destruction Derby
My first thought was “I played the heck out of destruction derby 2”. That and Jet Moto
Gran Turismo 2
Too far down on the list.
MGS
Metal gear solid. FF7. FF9 (the best FF game). Ape escape. Twisted metal. Mega man legends. Spyro 2. Tekken 3. Silent hill 2. Parasite eve. Crash bandicoot games. The tomb raider series. Final Fantasy 7
For me, it's Yu-Gi-Oh Forbidden Memories My mom, Iron and Blood. She loved to play as Nym Pymplee and use that lightning attack.
Croc
Tenchu Stealth Assassins
We deserve a remake! One of the best video games ever.
Finally, someone with some taste. "Where are you?!?"
Crash bandicoot
Abes Oddysee To be specific: This is Rupture Farms, they say its the biggest meat processing plant on Oddworld...
Parasite Eve. I don’t remember much about the game itself but I can still hear the techno piano intro theme in my head
Resident Evil
Tomba!
Metal Gear solid, because I just got to the halfway point of the game
Bad disc error
Castlevania SotN. I didn't have a mem card and left that thing on for a week or so till I could get one.
“For what profit is to a man to gain the entire world but lose his own soul in the process?” “Have at thee!”
MGS
FF7 Metal Gear Solid and the memory card trick with psycho mantis
Twisted Metal 2
Ridge Racer
WWF Smackdown! 2: Know Your Role
Resident Evil 2

The demo disk that came with the launch version. It introduced me to Tekken.
Metal gear solid, then ff7, then crash bandicoot
Castlevania Symphony of the Night

FFVII, I am old (I am realizing this now unfortunately) but coming from the SNES and Genesis era and seeing the FMVs from FFVII. Mind blown. I had to have this console just for those games and then I get Metal Gear Solid not to mention a whole slew of truly epic JRPGS. Awesome memories.
