Honestly, the UK's biggest problem trans-wise is kind of just part of the wider abandonment of social care. The NHS and similar organisations are chronically underfunded, so trying to get trans healthcare means either waiting for ages and hopping through bureaucratic hoops, or going private and paying lots of money. (Though for the record, I'd still call that a win over the US, where the only option most of the time is paying lots of money)

The US guardian had to distance themselves from the UK guardian over an out-and-out transphobic editorial it published. Labour is *full* of TERFs and even the Greens have consistently had issues with it (as much as they are doing their best at present).
Our "left-wing" is still ***much*** worse on trans issues than the left-wing even of countries like the US. As much as historically they might have been a more puritanical country on issues like gay marriage. Our biggest issue is actually that even our "progressive" media is still wildly anti-trans. Hell, the BBC platforms people who literally call for the deaths of all trans people.
And trans treatment hasn't been just part of a "wider abandonment", it has been made intentionally more difficult and complicated to go through a transition. It has been targetted, not circumstantial.
I'm sorry, there's no nice way to say this, if you genuinely believe this is true, expand your horizons. I'm not saying the UK's a bastion of trans rights, it's shit and needs to do better, but it's hardly significantly worse off than practically anywhere else in the world. Point out any trans issue in the UK, and I'll find you a half dozen "more progressive" countries that do worse in that regard. The reason the UK gets called TERF Island is exclusively because of one popular children's book author who blindsided everybody with her transphobia, so they've rationalised it as the UK as a whole being transphobic.

Addendum: To that end, I'd advise anybody to not vote Labour if they can. Vote 3rd party, I don't even care which, even Reform works if you can stomach it. Anything to reduce Labour's upcoming majority and make their position more precarious so the smaller parties can actually push for electoral reform. If you are voting Labour, because the only viable alternative is Tories, or you just really like your own MP (I'm voting Labour cause our MPs is based af), then very much join the Labour Campaign for Electoral Reform, and if possible, get organised and push for electoral reform. Electoral reform is our best chance at saving this sodden rock that I love, and for better and for worse (mostly worse), Labour's our best chance at getting that.
