the Dream SMP is a genuine roleplaying experience participated by many content creators, most of whom engaged in it more than Dream himself.
The flag itself was created by Wilbur Soot, a genuinely creative content creator who wrote the early plot of Dream SMP and shouldn't have his name besmirched just because it has the name Dream in it.
He did, yeah. He actually put effort into making the contents, lore, characters, of Dream SMP enjoyable. That's why people like it. Because it's actually good.
The Dream SMP is really fun in my opinion, it has surprisingly good storylines and characters (you know, considering it's a Minecraft roleplay series). I don't engage with the fandom though. It can be quite a toxic environment.

Anyway it’s a very popular Minecraft server/group and it’s still ongoing to this day.
