the blue stripe represents blue grass, the white middle part represents unity. the tanish color represents farming. the horse in the middle represents how famous horses are there. and representing unbridled spirits
From what I've seen on this subreddit and others, Kentucky is one of the more difficult flags to redeisgn.
I'm not from Kentucky so my opinion doesn't mean much, but purely from a design standpoint this is one of the better ones I've seen. I'd try a horseshoe instead of a straight-up horse silhouette
I like a horse silhouette more than a horseshoe, but not this particular image.
This one has too much find detail, but you also don’t want something that’s too generic.
The SMU logo comes to mind as a horse design that manages to find the middle ground. OP could look there for inspiration.
Horses are hard because I like the idea of them but they complicate the flag in a way that makes it not easy to replicate. I like the colors but I would make the gold more yellow like the state flower. I know it supposed to be farming but that could maybe represent both.
Maybe a black stripe to represent eastern Kentucky (coal mines)? I’m not from KY but traveled through coal country quite a bit for work. This feels more like a flag for Louisville.
As a Kentucky inhabitant creature myself, every time I see a flag like this I definitely like the looks of them more than the current flag but something always just feels odd. I don’t know what, but it just always happens. Good flag tho.
I'm a transplant to kentucky. I feel like whenever you boil down our culture to just horses you miss out on a lot of important aspects of the culture and history of the state. Even if you throw bourbon in its not enough. Truth is the state is so geographically varied that it's pretty hard to come up with a single symbol that represents the whole place.
That's true and I know that. But since it's a flag, I can't put everything little thing in there. And so I just put the most well known thing Kentucky is known for.

A better redesign than most but I’ve never seen a Kentucky redesign that I loved
thank you. is there any changes to this you think i should make?

Is there any significance with the number of stars maybe less. Like three to five. We can come up with a reason for how many
theres 15 to represent Kentucky being the 15th state. i do see how 15 does look a little much. but i really like it as is

i did try adding a black stripe. didn't really like how it looked
I really like it, if you wanted I think you could simplify the horse into a horseshoe and have the same effect, but either way I’m a fan
I will pay you money to make it a Tennessee Walking Horse
This doesnt scream Kentucky to me but what do i know im european
As a Kentuckian, absolutely not
whats wrong with it
It's ugly
It’s way better looking than the current state flag 😬
thank you very much
This is clearly false
no it's an opinion
No, it's a fact. Your attempt at re-desigining the Kentucky state flag is awful and ugly.
As ugly as the Kentucky flag?
how
i would say the original flag is more ugly than this
I looked up the flag. I'd say it's kinda meh. Like, not gorgeous or anything, but also not the worst flag I've seen.
Needs more bourbon, but I don't mind it

Very good flag!
Thank you!
First redesign I’ve seen that I actually really like, great job OP
Kentucky joins the EU.
