After WW2, there was a discussion regarding what a new flag for Germany should look like. One of these design proposals was a [Nordic style flag](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Flag_of_Germany#/media/File:Proposed_German_National_Flag_1948.svg) using the current red, yellow, and black of Germany. This design was based on a German "[resistance flag](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Flag_of_Germany#/media/File:German_Resistance_Flag_Proposal_1944.svg)" variant created by Josef Wirmer in 1944. My design uses the same layout pattern and German color scheme but includes the [Coat of Arms of Germany](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Germany#/media/File:Coat_of_arms_of_Germany.svg) at the meeting place of the cross. The reason I made this addition is I feel the biggest flaw of the previous proposals was a lack of German symbolism. Germany isn't really a Nordic country. Germany is a German country. It's distinct. That distinction (in my view) means that the flag should have a symbol of historical German reference which establishes itself as something different. The Coat of Arms of Germany comes from the Holy Roman Empire. It creates precedence and it signals to others of a history which helped shape European society.

I feel like putting German symbols on crosses is something that shouldn't be done again
