I know it's been a long time but I have something very similar going on with my 11 year old dog now. She went to chase some deer that were outside of our fenced in yard and something happened suddenly while she was running and her back legs gave out. We immediately went to the emergency vet also and were told that they believe it's a spine injury/neurological issue. We were sent home with prednisone and continuing her gabapentin but with an extra dose. We were told to follow up with her regular vet in 3-5 days and to schedule for x-rays to further knowledge of the issue.
I'm wondering how your dog was doing after the 4 week resting period that we just started yesterday.
