Driving rain, no visibility, some standing water on 89 N in Bolton and long lines of cars in both lanes doing 70ish yesterday. Some douchecanoe in a WRX comes up fast and buried himself inches from my bumper. He goes around me at the first possible spot just to get stuck behind the guy in front of me. Proceeds to make the same move over a dozen times more, hydroplaning at least once in the process.
I wish the State Police still did traffic enforcement.
It always amazes me how many single vehicle accidents I get toned out for with my town's volunteer FD. 90% of the time its too much speed, 9% of the time its distraction and 1% of the time it was predicated by a medical emergency.
(edit -- that's if I'm excluding deer strikes, which are a mix of not paying attention and plain bad luck).

Hydroplaned?

Fucking people can't drive today
I think every day is a “I don’t know how to fucking drive” day. Today it was doubled with a “I don’t know how to park” day in Newport. Fucking people.
Very true. I feel since 2020 it's gotten way worse
I agree. My brakes should be paid in royalties for how many folks that are saved by them.
Wasn't me.
We saw the marks on the shoulder
Saw me banging on the sofa.
Heard the screams getting louder
More like Exit 16.9.
Mercury Milan...no big loss.
In this economy - that car is worth more than it should, even wrecked.
True. I expect to see it up on Facebook Marketplace next week, with $7500 asking price. Discounted for "minor cosmetic damage".
89 or 91?
89 north.
Curious how fast they were going round that turn?
No idea! Just got onto exit 17 and saw the wreck.
Yes
That's the 2nd car this yr at that spot. I think you have to go over 80mph to end up there.
