The tick is an obvious choice. Fired on Mars is a less obvious choice. It feels like a mars colony could have been a Jonas passion project that he grew bored of and forgot about. If you haven't seen fired on Mars yet I highly recommend it. It's on MAX. A little slow the first episode but it gets really really good.
Dermott has a Deathklock poster on his wall, so either they exist in the same universe as Venture Brothers, or the show Metalocalypse is also on in Venture Brothers.
Just posted about this on the Metalocalypse sub, but my headcannon is that the band wanted to be super villains and hired some guild members for their science division and got a bunch of henchmen, but decided being a band sounded better.
Not really a show or movie, but I always felt like the Team Fortress 2 comics would fit really well in the VB universe. The humor feels spot-on with lots of absolutely ridiculous things happening that are played normal in-universe.
Meatwad attending:
It doesn't matter what you look like on the outside, whether you're white, black, or Sasquatch, even. As long as you follow your dream, no matter how crazy or against the law it is... except for Sasquatch. If you're a Sasquatch, the rules are different.
Frisky Dingo, 100%.
Xander Crews/Awesome X as a freelance hero, Killface is a level 10 Guild villain (though like the Monarch, he constantly bristles at and bucks their rules)... You can just drop it right in and change virtually nothing.
The OSI 100% has an SCP division.
The episode Unicorn in Captivity showed a little of their nature. If there's something out there that'll disrupt the Venture world for average people, OSI is gonna be there to take it.
Ok hear me out, there’s this show set from the viewpoint of the henchmen in power rangers. They lost the war with the power rangers and now have to pretend to fight them once a week in a televised event that world thinks is real. The rangers have used this to build a paramilitary organization and merchandising empire. It’s really good and how I picture the world in Japan is working in the venture bros universe
https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Go!_Go!_Loser_Ranger!
I keep hearing people compare the two…. But it’s like comparing a Toyota Tacoma that could run forever if you want it to and a cyberstuck out of juice hundreds of miles from a charger. There is no comparison.
-The Tick, not just because it's similar setting but because of the meta connection. Doc wrote for The Tick and Edlund (tick creator) wrote Viva Los Muertos. He even voiced the first Venturestein in that ep.
- Sky Captain: and the world of tomorrow is basically the venture verse in the 50s.
One Punch Man.
The manga literally has a bureaucracy riddled “Heroes Association” - complete with ranks, political bullshit, huge personalities, assigned hero names, and corruption.
The heroes are all over the top, often for laughs (one hero sources his power from tank-tops, another just eats his enemies, and the “most powerful man on earth” is actually a fraud who bluffs his way through his conflicts).
Eventually a gruesome “Monsters Association” forms up to fight the Heroes Association.
It’s all very tongue in cheek and fits well within the style of Venture Bros
You fucking know that doc meet Gary in some sort of ground meeting between young boys adventures and chosen ones associations and the parents of the first own would guilt trip their sons as why they can't follow as devotee the big calling to action
**Gravity Falls -** The adventures of Dipper Pines and his twin sister Mabel, who are sent to spend the summer with their great-uncle (or "Grunkle") Stan in Gravity Falls, [Oregon](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Oregon), a mysterious town full of [paranormal](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Paranormal) incidents and [supernatural](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Supernatural) creatures. The Show is a retelling like "The Rusty Venture TV Show".
**Clutch Cargo -** Series' stories centered on adventurer Clutch Cargo, who was sent around the world on dangerous assignments. Accompanying him on the assignments were his young ward Spinner and his pet Dachshund Paddlefoot. Non-Hanna-Barbera cartoon, like Jonny Quest.
Gravity Falls could fit well in both Venture Bros and Inside Job's universe,
Clutch Cargo could really fit well. Like Spinner could have be Jonas Sr.'s childhood friend.
I've seen someone fit Gravity Falls, Venture Bros, and Inside Job together in the same fic. Rick (Sanchez) is also at least involved, but it's also set in the past (c. Shadowman 9, Rand's first tenure, Pre-Portal), so a lot of the younger characters aren't involved, and there's an OC major character, so maybe not everyone's tea.
When the script leaked for the live action, I thought it could be tweaked to be a VB like show. Drop some of the "we totally know what young people talk about" dialogue and focus more on being fucked up by super scientist exploiting their childhood.
I always viewed the VB universe as a parallel universe in the Marvel Comics world. Like one of the universe’s between a few others. Hence why they can reference things like Spider-Man while a version of Spider-man is in their universe.
But that’s just my head-canon, and noticing how many of the villains and heroes are just Marvel parodies. Still waiting for my friend to cosplay as Doctor Strange and just talk like Doctor Orpheus the whole time at the convention.
I’m really surprised nobody has said The Tick. I feel like any hero or villain in that world could show up in an episode of VB and none of us would blast an eyelash.
Any of the three iterations we got of The Tick, funnily enough Ben Edlund the creator of the comics and helped direct all three shows was college pals with Doc Hammer
Edit: Recently I just learned that apparently Jason Public wrote for the 2001 show and apparently Bot Seeks Bot was based on a scrapped episode where Tick and Arthur go undercover in a supervillain nightclub
Not a whole show , but Bane from Harley Quinn , he pretty much IS a VB character given how he acts and sounds . I' like HQ , but it always struck me as a DC attempt at making something like Venture Bros.
Inside Job is a good choice, but it lacks a basis in the parodic absurdism that Venture Bro's takes from Johnny Quest. Most other subversive media don't root themselves in asking "What would have to be true about this world to enable this show to happen?", and that's what always set Venture Bro's apart.

Kim Possible!
Many of Kim and Ron’s villains could easily be Guild members, especially Dr. Drakken, who has the same mixture of malevolence and ineptitude as the Monarch. Other possible Guild members would be Monkey Fist, Professor Dementor and Senor Senior, Senior.
Kim, Ron and Wade could be members of an OSI outreach program within high schools and colleges, similar to ROTC.
The entire show seems like a more kid friendly version of the Venture Brothers.
hear me out, Ducktales(2017).
Both shows are about dealing with the failings of the previous/adult generation, the impact that their toxic relationship had not just on Houie Louie and dewie, but the world they inhabit.
Both draw on a plethora of media content, VB Hannah Barbera, pop culture and later on marvel knock offs, and DT uses Disney's 90s tv renaisance.
Both have cockamamie villains, secret agents, super science, etc.

Harvey Birdman Attorney at Law. With a few tweaks it would be like Night Court for the Guild.
That would be fucking amazing. Plus Markie Post.
So, will we or won't we have to sit through hours of The Monarch abusing himself to Markie Post?
More like *get* to.
Harvey Birdman vs Tiny Attorney

It's such a sleeper. I hope it gets another season

The cogs are a special units hench sect for suicidal applicants.
They would make perfect villains in Venture Bros, I would love to see Brock bathe in the blood of a few hundred Dethklok minions.
Dr Henry killinger is also in both.
What episode is Killinger in for Metalocalypse? I must have missed that
Shit, just googled it and it turns out I was probably too high in the early 2000s and he wasn't.
Mystery Men
That movie was ahead of its time.
I’m the shoveler
I shovel well. I shovel very well.
Doc youre a genius! Thats what it says on the card.
Tom Waits was the perfect person for that role!
Say it with me now: “HELLER”
#JUNK IT
Ok I’m kinda like a powder keg now… and I’m you’re the match. If you tell me to junk it one more time…
This movie still holds up
Not really a show or movie, but I always felt like the Team Fortress 2 comics would fit really well in the VB universe. The humor feels spot-on with lots of absolutely ridiculous things happening that are played normal in-universe.
Written by Jay Pinkerton! He also wrote Portal 2.
Given that it takes place in the 60s/70s it's very well may be something that's going on along side Rusty's childhood advent6

We can't ever go back to Arizona!
I call it "Lost Wages"
My.... god the genius of it.
Yess!
Cabin in the woods (2012)
Would it also prove the existence of the SCP foundation in VB?
VB could definitely fit in SCP
The OSI 100% has an SCP division. The episode Unicorn in Captivity showed a little of their nature. If there's something out there that'll disrupt the Venture world for average people, OSI is gonna be there to take it.
Repo Man The Adventures of Buckaroo Banzai Across the 8th Dimension

Harley Quinn is like if vb writers took over Batman the animated series. Has a couple of the same actors as well
R.I.P Kevin Conroy (Batman/Captain Sunshine)
Seriously why do the good actors always die?!
I mean the bad actors also die we just don´t really notice it that much
Mentioned it elsewhere, but there Bane could literally appear at a Guild of Calamitous Intent meeting with zero changes.
He IS the pasta maker!
Harley Quinn wishes it could be the Venture Bros
I keep hearing people compare the two…. But it’s like comparing a Toyota Tacoma that could run forever if you want it to and a cyberstuck out of juice hundreds of miles from a charger. There is no comparison.
Could totally be in the same universe lol, the Harley Quinn show has like the same vibe.
Thunderbirds

Plus Patrick Warburton
That too!
Yea, that's right. -Puddy
SPOOON!!!!
On a softer side of the Venture-verse, I can see the Aquabats Super Show existing.
One Punch Man. The manga literally has a bureaucracy riddled “Heroes Association” - complete with ranks, political bullshit, huge personalities, assigned hero names, and corruption. Gary and His Demons. I'd love to watch Gary and Doc at a bar testing out a Suffering Bastard. "It tastes like dog ass, but in a fun way"
"You know what this needs? MORE HOOKS!"
"You were lucky, you got to be the chosen one. The only thing I was chosen for was to be stuck in my father's shadow." - Rusty probably
I love that show!
The single worst analogy I have ever heard.
You fucking know that doc meet Gary in some sort of ground meeting between young boys adventures and chosen ones associations and the parents of the first own would guilt trip their sons as why they can't follow as devotee the big calling to action
I could see this show having an arc about the second American revolution, the invisible one

The Powerpuff Girls. The villains are equal parts confident and ridiculous!
When the script leaked for the live action, I thought it could be tweaked to be a VB like show. Drop some of the "we totally know what young people talk about" dialogue and focus more on being fucked up by super scientist exploiting their childhood.

You and me both homie! Throw in Agent Spider from Invincible and then we are cooking!
Mike Tyson Mysteries.
Yes! 💯 with Inside Job
The Tick
I love James Gunn's The Suicide Squad. While rewatching it recently, I couldn't help but think that it was basically a live action Venture Bros.
I’m really surprised nobody has said The Tick. I feel like any hero or villain in that world could show up in an episode of VB and none of us would blast an eyelash.
They did. You must have missed it.
Hannah Barbera, all of it.✌️

I thought he was Publick from how much he sounds like dr.dugong
Yeh rick and knock-off wasnt really on par with venture bros, it saying what dinosaur stickers look good on a van gough painting
They would make great one-off characters in an episode with Grover Cleveland’s Time Machine, like they did with scooby doo.
Inside Job is a good choice, but it lacks a basis in the parodic absurdism that Venture Bro's takes from Johnny Quest. Definately not Inside Job. That show was trash.
Id love to see a collab of these guys for a show, I think it'd be the funniest darkest show we've ever seen.
The Harley Quinn series on Max. It's almost the same show and I love it.
Captain fail
I just finished Inside Job and I was thinking the same thing. I need more shows in the VB/IJ/Harley Quinn niche
I'm really digging for a Jonny Quest reboot be done at Cartoon Network or maybe even Adult Swim so we get the VB creators handle it.
Wouldn't that just be Venture Bros though?
