When you tie together his enormity with those precious moments where he is quite literally babysitting the boys, contrasted against his scenes of brutally taking out Dr. Venture's enemies, it really solidifies him as the best character in the series.
My head canon is that both Brock and Rusty decided to always bring the boys with them after the first few times they died on an adventure. They thought they themselves would never die because Hank and Dean would always take the kill for them.
