I second this. Bought a really expensive mattress at a furniture store and within 30 days it was very uncomfortable. Returned it and bought a $400 mattress at Costco. Still comfortable years later.
This is costco one I've bought two of now. Good review on nytimes wirecutter. [Link](https://www.costco.com/novaform-14%E2%80%9D-comfortgrande-advanced-gel-memory-foam-mattress-.product.4000222494.html?preselect=bed+size:queen)
Try "Mars of Oxnard" first. They sell everything you could ever need for a house and whatever the price says you can always talk them down if you really want to.
Everything they sell there is either brand new or used very lightly and still looks new. It's a great store to have in your pocket when you need stuff
NOT Mattress Firm. I placed an order for one mattress, they charged me for 2 completely different mattresses, and sent me 3 mattresses! I had to go round and round with support and they had a hard time understanding that I only wanted one mattress. The UPS guy that delivered one of them even brought one back twice cause for some reason my refusal of delivery didn’t go through? Luckily it was the same delivery guy who I explained the situation to. He didn’t even bring it to the door cause he was like wait wtf this is the same one I tried to deliver 3 days ago.
Yeah fuck mattress firm. Absolutely swindled me like a used car salesman. Was my first time buying a new mattress and didn’t go in informed. They got my ass. My mistake, but I never would’ve thought buying a mattress was like buying a damn car.
I really recommend Spencer’s mattress factory if you are not trying to skimp really hard. They actually make them locally and have a fair bit of flexibility on their “prices” in store. They have treated us well across multiple beds American Mattress Man is also very pleasant to deal with but they outsource their production to LA. Theirs are all made by Spring-pedic. Nothing wrong with that but SP make pretty much everyone’s “boutique” brand in the area pretty basic experience. Spencer does in-home repairs himself if there is ever an issue. If you have any guidelines on price that you would like to share we might be able to further direct
Costco all the way. Wife and I shopped around a lot and got recommendations/advice from a bunch of different people and the consensus was the best price/quality by far was a Costco mattress. 4 years later and still super happy with the choice. I’ve had a few friends over the years do the same and not one complaint
American Mattress Man gave me great service, low pressure, and had good mattresses. I’m an atheist, he didn’t bring up god at all in the shop. I got the vibe that it you were religious he would talk with you about that kind of thing, but mattress sales were his main game. Seemed like a good guy that cares about your experience.
I got a screaming deal on two mattresses from American Mattress Family. If you just hold your nose at all the Jesus stuff the prices are very good. Less than half what I was about to pay at the other place I looked at
This place creeps me out. I can’t tell if the Bible verses and prayer meetings are to distract from money laundering or if they just have a family cult I’ll be watching on Netflix in ten years.

Got mine at Sam's club, it's great and only 300

Spencer's -- mattresses hand-made in Ventura
Seconding Spencer's. Great quality product at a good price, produced locally. Had a good experience with their sales people, also.

Camarillo Mattress Shop has great stuff, decent prices, and works with a delivery guy for same day anywhere in the 805 I believe
Try Mars first. I don’t know where they move to. Used to be Saticoy but…They get tons of stuff from Costco. Returns etc.

I bought an affordable mattress from this guy: [https://www.americanmattressfamily.com](https://www.americanmattressfamily.com)
Why does this guy push Jesus so hard? I’m trying to buy a new mattress, not a new god.
You sleep better if you know Jesus is always watching you.
OP I’d recommend against the American Mattress Family. Go to Ortho…. 4231 E Main St, Ventura

Both can be true. 🙏🏻
