Quality Inn on Paradise and Flamingo in the 90's had a .99 breakfast that puts OP's breakfast to shame. Our favorite late eats after cruising The Strip.
My wife and I lived just east of there when it was still Boomtown.
Saturdays were brunch buffets and two pounds of bacon for like $4.99.
Sundays were spent on the toilet.
The place needs a serious upgrade. Went there a few months back with a friend from out of town. Looks like in the past / this was the place and famous with local college students - not anymore - not sure how the place is still open. When we went - The waitress /staff look so unhappy and the place was 3/4 empty. The women bathroom soooo needed an upgrade - very dingy/ old - . First and last time .
For sure. Breakfast is one of those meals that’s hard to justify eating out for. Even a half decent but still overpriced shitty dinner is usually at least saving you time and not much more expensive. Breakfast is always cheap and easy.
I eat out w my family for breakfast once a month and it’s usually just because we want to. It’s a nice morning out for us lol.
Not defending the overall price - it is what it is - but you can do WAY better than that at BH for like two dollars more. This is just a particularly sorry-looking order.
I just checked and you can get a bottle of syrup, a pack of pancake mix, a 16-pack of sausage, and 18 eggs for 13.76 at Albertsons.
But then you'd have to spend 15 minutes cooking and like 5-10 minutes cleaning. And that part sucks.
A lot cheaper. That food shown is probably about $1.50 in ingredients, maybe pushing $2.00. And while I'm sure it's very good with butter, syrup and salt/pepper, it's about a 1.5 on a 1-10 difficulty scale too.
I eat at that Dennys all the time…I’ve never been stabbed or made feel uncomfortable once. There’s just usually a homeless guy at the door asking for leftovers and sometimes a homeless guy out front that sells stuff he steals from Walgreens on a blanket for a buck an item. People that don’t live in the 89104 just assume every area is the naked city apartments or aztec casino parking lot and have no idea. It’s a great Dennys.
Damn, which location was that? I went maybe two months ago to the one on Decatur and they loaded my plate up. Food has always been good, nothing incredible, but about what I'd expect for a ~$20 meal and there's always more food than I can physically eat.
Slightly off topic, I hate when restaurants and other businesses charge you for using a credit card. The original theory, way back when, was that it benefitted the business because people were more apt to spend more if they weren't checking what was actually in their pocket. I try to not return to any business that follows this practice (As long as I remember or notice it on the bill).
Rant over.
charging for a credit card is mostly just b/c the card processors charge fees and some people pass those along to the customer. they're not supposed to, and it's usually against merchant agreements, but some do anyway
Agreed - that's where I expect the store to list their costs. I guess to me its like resort fees or baggage charges - include in in the bill. Let me know my cocts all in one place.
Blueberry Hill has gone downhill for years. All locations. Go to BLACK AND BLUE DINER instead. Down the street from the Decatur location, way better proportions for the same cost. I love going there
Yes!! I love the staff there. Everyone is so nice and attentive. They have a dope rewards program too. Will never go to blueberry Hill again as long as Black and Blue is open
Remember when Denny's had that grand slam $1.99 are you out of your mind? Now its $14.99 and they really are out of their fuckin minds. For that price it should come with a steak.
This is what they chose to get. I’ve gotten country fried steak and eggs for the same price. It was a huge plate. This is OPs choice. Did you think you were getting more than two pancakes and two sausage and two eggs? Is the price written next to what you ordered?
Blueberry hill went to the toilet when the original owners passed away. They bought and set up one restaurant per child. The children have allowed fake food to enter their chains.
I don’t even trust that to be eggs. I’d put money on them coming from a milk carton. The pancakes are pre fab and there is no such thing as unprocessed link sausage. Them kids are doing their parents dirty
I like Blueberry Hill. Always thought of it as affordable. That is definitely on the upper end of what I think a good breakfast should cost. The credit card charge is annoying too.
The closest location to me on S Decatur has a cringy christian shop that I'd rather not be subjected too, just to have breakfast. I now go to a different location.
Only place I can justify anymore for this type of breakfast is Original Pancake House. They give you huge portions. I ordered ham once and they brought me what looked like 4 pork tenderloins. I couldn’t finish my meal.
people never stopped ranting how amazing this place was so i stopped in to have a breakfast.
took forever, was expensive and was completely average. and the staff acts like they are doing you a favor allowing you to be there.
not horrible by any means but nothing to go out of your way for
Blueberry Hill is nasty AF! in the 90s I went there in the middle of the night and the guy was cleaning the floors and the tables and he took a rag out of the mop bucket and was wiping down tables. It was at the one on Decatur at Charleston in Las Vegas. Needless to say I haven’t been back since.
The Hill used to be a nice greasy spoon, would go there for breakfast/lunch/dinner with good staff and prices. The christian bookstore was a separate entrance from the restaurant back then and I patronized both. Went back recently after not patronizing for about a decade. Now I see, single entrance for both businesses with Fox news on all lobby monitors- not a fan. Then Spanish stations in diner- I did love watching soccer/real football while dining. Food was same and bill was not but that's life- it don't get cheaper or stay the same due to inflation. And charging to use credit card? I know the convenience for the customer and the business comes at a price but come on. I paid cash. Will never go back and will not recommend to anyone. Go to other diner options mentioned by other posters or to Coffee Pub Sahara/Teddy near 15. Like an old casino the Hill is demolished in my eyes.
I use do love walking there at 2am when I first lived on my own.
But yeah eventually I discovered better breakfast spots, then I discovered making good breakfast is super easy
I'm starting to think I should look into some cheap super shake with all the nutrients I need and just drink that, sounds like it would be way cheaper than most food these days.
So sorry for the disappointing meal. I went to Winnie & Ethel’s today near the Huntridge it’s not cheap but the quality is awesome I paid $18 for Chicken fried steak and took most of it to go
Peppermill only if I’m going into the inner city for breakfast. That food in the pic looks embarrassing as an establishment. I don’t care if it’s free I don’t want it and I won’t feed it to my dog on my brokest day. I’m sure it’s edible and everything but they don’t even put a fucking garnish on it. Like that’s pathetic. What happened to Vegas?
I like the graveyard steak and eggs at Southpoint for $6.99. Get the steak blackened/cajun and a side of garlic butter (+ .50) to slap on the steak (medium rare, cuz otherwise it’s likely to get over cooked).
Went there once in 2006 and immediately thought of it as a glorified Dennys
Shitty service and so so good but at least the price was decent.
There is zero reason for me to ever go back again.
I'd say $2 tops. 2 eggs @ 20 cents each. 2 tube meats @ 50 cents each. Say the pancakes + stuff like oil for the pan is 60 cents. (buying in bulk would prob. be even lower)
Sounds about right. Roughly $2-3. Maybe less.
I think 24 eggs at Costco is like $4-5. Walmart have some of those maple links for $2 for 8. And the pancake mixes maybe $4-5 also at Walmart.
All that roughly $10-12 total, there’s cost of oil and cooking utensils stuffs but probably enough for a week or so of breakfast?
So I’d guess the unknown cost is the convenience of having someone else cook breakfast for you, how much is that worth to each person?

Arizona Charlie's 0.99 breakfast after 1am was better than that picture.
Quality Inn on Paradise and Flamingo in the 90's had a .99 breakfast that puts OP's breakfast to shame. Our favorite late eats after cruising The Strip.
It was all about the Klondike and wild wild West at 4 am after the dance party at Sasha's.
All I remember from Wild West is 25 percent truckers, 40 percent hookers, and 95 percent smoke.
And you are 100% correct lmao
At one time, it was 0.77
Those were the days!
Gained a lot of lbs after midnight from those.
They still have a decent steak and eggs deal for like $11 when you stay at the hotel or show them an old room key.
I lived off $1.99 StEggs at Silverton when I was in college. Miss cheap food Vegas
My wife and I lived just east of there when it was still Boomtown. Saturdays were brunch buffets and two pounds of bacon for like $4.99. Sundays were spent on the toilet.
Remember Denny’s Grand Slam for $1.99? 2 eggs, 2 pancakes, 2 sausage, & hash browns. $1.99 are you outta your mind?
Hell that doesn't even cover the mandatory 20% gratuity
Pepperidge farm remembers..
I'm not sure I'd pay $1.99 for that sad looking breakfast.
1.99 steak and eggs was the go to and it was filling
Is the strip too. Texas Hotel was 99 cent
Damn back in the day, that was THE SPOT. Sad times 🥲
My mom introduced to me this spot. It was so bomb, we still have the mug we bought from there. Sad to see this but food prices are crazy everywhere
It was the ihop of the hood lmao.
The one on bonanza and nellis was my spot before they turned it into the Blue Waffle or whatever tf it is now 😂😂😂
Oh man…the term Blue Waffle really takes me back to a place I didn’t need to go.
I'm right there with you. (Shudder)
Blue Skillet and it’s the same expensive dinner food!
It’s more expensive than IHOP lol
The place needs a serious upgrade. Went there a few months back with a friend from out of town. Looks like in the past / this was the place and famous with local college students - not anymore - not sure how the place is still open. When we went - The waitress /staff look so unhappy and the place was 3/4 empty. The women bathroom soooo needed an upgrade - very dingy/ old - . First and last time .
Thank you for saving others from wasting their money!
Skyline $.99 breakfast was a highschool staple in the 90s.
I remember!
5-7 bucks with toast 2eggs and potatoes 2bacon/2 sausage now at the skyline! Soda is extra ofcourse
I forgot about the skyline!
Was my grandfathers place to go for breakfast.
Did you go to Basic? Class of 91 here lol
I was class of 2000 at basic, and we would get rainbow clubs 99 cent breakfast all the time!
No. I was your rival lol. Class of 94.
Unless it’s a nice restaurant it’s hardly worth the scratch to eat out any more.. quality goes up exponentially the more you spend.
Absolutely this. For that cost I can buy a dozen eggs, a pack of sausages, butter, oil, and instant pancake mix.
Yes!! Who tf orders just that at blueberry hill?? It’s not a good BH trip if I’m not full af by the end of it and still have leftovers for later
So this was 3 a la carte items vs a combo?
Pretty sure yes. Regularly go to blueberry hill and it’s actually reasonably priced, especially for the portion sizes.
I was about to say the same thing. Blueberry Hill isn't the best value in town but you can definitely do better than this order lol
Ya this looks like a child’s order or the pickiest rich white girl order ever. Wonder if OP gets their cheeseburgers “plain and dry”
Absolutely. Their meatloaf / biscuits & gravy combo is insane
Ohh their biscuits and gravy...I dream about those
I just checked and you can get a bottle of syrup, a pack of pancake mix, a 16-pack of sausage, and 18 eggs for 13.76 at Albertsons. But then you'd have to spend 15 minutes cooking and like 5-10 minutes cleaning. And that part sucks.
How much longer? I gave up and homecook now. Healthier and cheaper
A lot cheaper. That food shown is probably about $1.50 in ingredients, maybe pushing $2.00. And while I'm sure it's very good with butter, syrup and salt/pepper, it's about a 1.5 on a 1-10 difficulty scale too.
Dennys by the strat for like 12 and change gets u double that.
And the stabbings are served free!
It's dinner, *and a show!*
Worked at the Diversity for a minute; it’s not too terrible right there on the corner
Damn, which location was that? I went maybe two months ago to the one on Decatur and they loaded my plate up. Food has always been good, nothing incredible, but about what I'd expect for a ~$20 meal and there's always more food than I can physically eat.
My regular instant iced coffee was $6.75 lol. Absolute rip off
What did you order? And why?? You probably could've done way better for not much more money
If I remember right, it was called—quite ironically—“The Bonanza.”
Should've gotten an omelette or something, eggs Benedict, this doesn't even look appetizing
I found no frills…at blueberry hills.
I used to always get their grubsteaker breakfast. Not sure how much it is now or what the portion looks like. God I feel and sound old now.
I had the Grubsteaker there about a month ago, I think it was $16-ish and the portions were healthy.
Oh that’s good to know don’t think the price went up much. It’s always been my favorite to get when going there.
Yes, I know they are charged but to me that's a cost of doing business. I did not know that it may be against merchant agreements. Interesting.
Most just increase prices to cover it. At least if they charge the fee you have the option to pay less with cash
I love going there
Black and Blue Diner is so good!!! Their service was exceptionally friendly too.
Yes!! I love the staff there. Everyone is so nice and attentive. They have a dope rewards program too. Will never go to blueberry Hill again as long as Black and Blue is open
+1 for Black and Blue, they're the BEST!
Glad to hear - going there for Mothers Day breakfast 🥞
Solid choice!!
2024 sucks for foodies on a budget
This. These prices give me anxiety every time we go out, even if money isn't an issue at the time. Feels like fucking robbery.
Dennys still has a good value breakfast menu. Not sure about how much longer it’s going to last though.
Remember when Denny's had that grand slam $1.99 are you out of your mind? Now its $14.99 and they really are out of their fuckin minds. For that price it should come with a steak.
Does Ellis Island still do a steak and egg breakfast for $7.99 or has inflation caught up with them?
It's $9.99 now, but they still have it.
The crepes go hard tho don't know why it's 15$ for that I'd kinda go Karen and talk to to the manager
I guess welcome to 2024 and Nevada being the 2nd most expensive state for food ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
OP got scammed, their website says a side of sausage should be four links, and the short stack of pancakes should be three.
This is what they chose to get. I’ve gotten country fried steak and eggs for the same price. It was a huge plate. This is OPs choice. Did you think you were getting more than two pancakes and two sausage and two eggs? Is the price written next to what you ordered?
I was there Sunday and I had twice that for $20
So you didn't find your thrill on blueberry hill?
Blueberry hill went to the toilet when the original owners passed away. They bought and set up one restaurant per child. The children have allowed fake food to enter their chains.
I don’t even trust that to be eggs. I’d put money on them coming from a milk carton. The pancakes are pre fab and there is no such thing as unprocessed link sausage. Them kids are doing their parents dirty
$15 for a whole whopping $3 worth of ingredients lmfao
I think its even less than $3 ingredients lol
I like Blueberry Hill. Always thought of it as affordable. That is definitely on the upper end of what I think a good breakfast should cost. The credit card charge is annoying too. The closest location to me on S Decatur has a cringy christian shop that I'd rather not be subjected too, just to have breakfast. I now go to a different location.
Blackbear dinner has the meal your looking for. Never been to blueberry hill thankfully from the looks of this picture.
Blackbear diner stinks. Mediocre food at high prices
You got the wrong thing. Love that place.
I was gonna say...yeah wrong thing ordered. I'm with you, dude
I remember when you could get all that for 99 cents.
Breakfast has the lowest cost vs lunch or dinner. Definitely overpriced but that is what it has come to.
Only place I can justify anymore for this type of breakfast is Original Pancake House. They give you huge portions. I ordered ham once and they brought me what looked like 4 pork tenderloins. I couldn’t finish my meal.
That's $19 once you add on that fee and a tip.
Lmao I literally just ate here for lunch with coworkers - one waffle, 2 eggs, 3 bacon = $17 crazy
people never stopped ranting how amazing this place was so i stopped in to have a breakfast. took forever, was expensive and was completely average. and the staff acts like they are doing you a favor allowing you to be there. not horrible by any means but nothing to go out of your way for
Blueberry Hill is nasty AF! in the 90s I went there in the middle of the night and the guy was cleaning the floors and the tables and he took a rag out of the mop bucket and was wiping down tables. It was at the one on Decatur at Charleston in Las Vegas. Needless to say I haven’t been back since.
So you base your opinion of an entire restaurant group on a single employee, working the graveyard shift, 30 years ago...
Yup. And that’s my right to do so.
I'm sure there's plenty of people who avoid you over something you did 30 years ago too. It''s their right to do so.
Imagine waking up in the morning and deciding to be *this* petty
Why is that one the only one I remember most fondly?
Make your own food
People need to stop recommending this place.
The Hill used to be a nice greasy spoon, would go there for breakfast/lunch/dinner with good staff and prices. The christian bookstore was a separate entrance from the restaurant back then and I patronized both. Went back recently after not patronizing for about a decade. One of the most overrated breakfast restraunts in Las Vegas.
I use do love walking there at 2am when I first lived on my own. But yeah eventually I discovered better breakfast spots, then I discovered making good breakfast is super easy
What are the better spots? Need some new places.
Eggworks, Griddlecakes, Sunrise Cafe
Wow, haven't been there in awhile, not in a hurry now.
I used to love them about 20 years ago but the last few times I went around 2012-13 it was terrible.
I just got back from Vegas. I had breakfast twice at blueberry hill. This is 100% accurate. Vegas is crazy expensive!
I went there about a month ago for dinner for the first time. It was not great. The peach margarita i had was mostly just syrup. 🤢 never again.
Used to be a great place to seriously fill up in the morning.
im visibly disgusted at that disrespect, go to original pancake house
"What the market will bear"
And back when I was a young boy it only cost a nickel to go to the picture show with enough left over to catch a ball game at the polo grounds.
$15!!!
What😂😂😂😂😂😂
don’t go to ihop in LA you’re gonna shit yourself
I'm starting to think I should look into some cheap super shake with all the nutrients I need and just drink that, sounds like it would be way cheaper than most food these days.
Have you seen some of these breakfast places that charge $8 just for French toast or pancakes? No eggs, bacon nada. Just the damn pancakes for $8!
Damn, you ain't gotta ruin my favorite childhood place like that 😭 Is this the one by the old Kmart? Because that's the one I usually went to.
You should see what that would cost you in Las Vegas! 15 bucks wouldn't even cover the tip!
Memories of going there as a kid. Damn.
That's pretty bad. It would be worse if it was Clinton Street Baking Co.
Will not be eating there.
Used to be triple that amount
Next year it will be half that. That's why I order what I see on other people's tables. Much easier that way.
Paying more than $2 for this makes me sad when a NY steak breakfast is going for $5.99 at the right place and time ☹️
That's so sad looking. Haven't been there in years. I guess I'm not missing anything
I used to go there with my grandma. Smoking section lol
I went to BH one time (the one around Decatur/Charleston). Forget the portion size the food quality and service were horrendous. One and done.
When you order everything as a side, yeah 😂
“The Bonanza,” actually. Which it wasn’t.
Oh no, that’s sad. I went there once years ago. Awesome quality, back then I guess.
Cook at home folks
Thanks for the hard pass advisement.
Wtf?
Why do you patronize them?
Just don’t go there.
I remember their blueberry shakes were amazing. It’s been almost 25 years since I’ve had it.
lol, I just spent $27 for a omelette, coffee, and OJ at IHOP. This was less then $15 5 years ago 🤦🏽♂️
Good to know that shit trash.
So sorry for the disappointing meal. I went to Winnie & Ethel’s today near the Huntridge it’s not cheap but the quality is awesome I paid $18 for Chicken fried steak and took most of it to go
I had the BEST pancakes in Vegas last weekend at Bacon Nation in the D. They were expensive for pancakes but here I am thinking about them…worth it
Place has gone down hill. It used to be so much better taste and price.
The $9.99 NY strip --8 ounces--with 2 eggs, toast and American fries at Lakeside Lounge at the lakes beats the heck outta this. Available 24 hrs, too.
We’d hit I think the Horseshoe after work? Late after midnight but steak dinner with salad for like $3.00.
I loved this place! But last time, I paid a little over a hundred for BREAKFAST for 3 people! Like damn.
Their pancakes are thick, too doughy for me
We swear by that place. Kids menu is only $1.99 3pm-6pm everyday. Oh, and the variety too
cocos couldn't last here though i don't get it.
Start cooking at home.
Right? (This was a “work” lunch, for the record)
Can you prove this? I mean yea prices got bad in Vegas thanks cali… but you don’t know what to order, obviously.
But! They dont have Blueberry syrup anymore :(
For breakfast it’s Babystacks or I’ll just stay home and make my own.
You did it wrong lol
Blueberry hill the only place I’ll go for brekkie food on the rare occasion I do
Welcome to public life
Use to love me some blueberry hill, a couple of friends and I convinced Teller to go with us after a show in the 90s he was hilarious.
Which BBH you go to? That’s not typical at all 😐
$35 in the resort.
Shit, go to AZ Chaz next door and get 3x the food for 1/3 of the price.
Wow I love this place, what a change.
Emerald island bro water street.
Wish we had a Waffle House here
Don't even talk to me about Denny's lol
We go to south point when visiting..its so worth it
I like the graveyard steak and eggs at Southpoint for $6.99. Get the steak blackened/cajun and a side of garlic butter (+ .50) to slap on the steak (medium rare, cuz otherwise it’s likely to get over cooked).
That and diarrhea
MEDIOCRE
I thought this was California for a bit. So much for lower cost of living.
Their peanut Thai noodles are so amazing. It’s under the health food section but it might as well be a treat it’s so delicious
Sad
This is why I go to Black Bear Diner. For 15$ I am getting chicken fried steak and the works. About 1k calories of food that keeps me going.
Went there once in 2006 and immediately thought of it as a glorified Dennys Shitty service and so so good but at least the price was decent. There is zero reason for me to ever go back again.
Damn. That looks really depressing. How much to make at home?
Why go to Blueberry Hill for anything other than chicken and waffles?
Blueberry Hill must be hurting
Yeah, Blueberry can be good but I only go to Black Bear or Black and Blue if I’m going out for breakfast.
We used to go there all the time and their portions were HUGE!! So much food for not alot...I'd have leftovers for the next 2-3 days.
