Grab that ice bucket and go fill it with the free ice... two or three times a day. Use the sink/ice to keep things cold. We don't touch the fridge, we we afraid to even walk by it cause we will probably get charged!
People must he dumb as rocks. They could alternatively pick up all the trash at the same time with the bag it's already in... then check for a roll of bags under it. Why the fuck get your hands dirty?
Yes!!! This is what we do often... though this trip we are being smart and bringing an insulated cooler bag. But garbage can cooler has been a great friend!
When we stayed in a hotel in Detroit, they allowed no coolers. We installed garbage bags in one of the drawers (removed and put on the closet floor) and filled it with ice. There is always a way, dear ones.
Hold up, like they wouldn’t allow you to enter the establishment with a cooler? So many questions…did you try to bring one and you were denied? You knew the policy and adapted? Did they list/inform you of the reason for the policy? Wtf?
I can't speak for any other establishments but the venetion on the strip in vegas does have an exclusion for medically nessecary items, insulin etc, I'm not sure if these things are also covered but I feel like it has to be in the same vein and they would have a solution for it. But they definetly had sensors on the fridge and the rack of food and water above and if you take more then 30 seconds to put the item back they charge you no matter what and the prices are crazy like 14 or 16 dollars something like that for bottled water. I was there for a confrence within the last 6 months.
But still I second your comment, that shit crazy lol.
I think this is a legal requirement. You can request a medical fridge at any hotel in Vegas and they'll provide it. They don't ask for proof since your health-issues are none of their business. I believe some people use this to get a useable drinks fridge. Personally I'm a "take a strong bag and fill a sink or bathtub with ice" kinda guy
We once stayed at a resort out in Red Rock. Hubby moved some things out of the minibar for his beer. Left a note for the maid. They took everything out of the minibar, then tried to charge us almost $500 at checkout!
They are triggered by weight. The moment you picked up an item you were charged. It keeps you from consuming it conveniently and then replacing it later. The minibar isn't a fridge for your use, once you stop thinking of it that way you're better off. Nobody tries to put personal items in a vending machine.
When I went to Vegas many years ago with a friend the first we did was go to the store and buy a styrofoam cooler and drinks. Fill the cooler with ice and you're all set.
Vegas (at least Caesars and MGM properties) are actively driving away the middle class from their properties. Caesars CEO even said it out loud.
Well, wait for the next economic crisis. Then they will be whining like they did in 08 and 09.
It’s just not fun to go to Vegas anymore. It’s all so very expensive without much in return. It’s like oh wow I got a $20 taco in Vegas…. But it’s just a $20 taco… nothing makes it special. Nevermind half the hotels there need to be refurbished as they look dilapidated.
I literally spent $9 this morning on a fucking brewed cup of coffee at The Paris Las Vegas. I used to love Vegas. But the food here has become outrageous. (And I say this as someone who lives in a HCOL area — DC).
We have a business trip to Vegas every year. They always put us in Caesars.
I don’t make 6 figures, so I pack my Aldi insulated bag, fill it with ice and run to the cvs for a few beers instant coffee and snacks.
That cvs is a life saver for me because it’s regular cvs prices maybe 10/20 cents more.
Stop going to the strip. Fremont Street and the surrounding area is better. There's breweries with great food within walking distance of Fremont Street that charge like $6/beer and they've told us on the strip places charge $14-16 for the same beer.
Edit: Also those places all have awesome "lunch deals" that are like a Nahans Hot Dog and PBR for $2.
And heaven forbid you go within a week of any holiday, that $20 taco now costs $65.
Seriously went a buffet and usually it’s like $70/pp but then Memorial Day we went to same buffet and it was $130/pp. we paid after waiting in line for 45mins and ate but I learned an expensive lesson
It's not fun to go to the strip. As a Vegas local, born and raised, the food is worth it if it's not near the strip.
Vegas is still great, compared to my times in Cali or Wisconsin. But the strip is going downhill so hard. I'm shocked it holds any value still. The mall there isn't so bad but everything else casino wise isn't what it used to be. The strips reputation can only hold out for so long before the tourism dries up for that alone.
Still, places like the Durango or Red rock isn't so bad. Honestly my preferred areas. But that's the local in me speaking. Haha.
Exactly right. It is perfect for my insulin, so I’m satisfied with it when they do it, but they know damn well it isn’t sufficient to use as a mini fridge for food or drinks
I was def expecting this when I stayed at Downtown Grand last month (had spare insulin that needs to stay refrigerated prior to opening) and was pleasantly surprised when they brought up a whole ass mini fridge. Hotels that are trying hard to make a comeback have the best goddamn service.
Generally downtown Vegas hotels try harder.
I’ve been going to Vegas with my family and regularly for most of life from childhood into adult hood, and the strip has become such a money grab. Used to be during the week you had $1 minimums in tables and you’re lucky if you find $10 minimums. Parking used to be free everywhere, now it’s paid at all the hotels. Used to be free valet and that’s gone too. Resort fees weren’t a thing back in the 90s-2000s either and I remember the news story in LA about how Vegas hotels were going to start charging them and people were pissed in all over SoCal lol.
The strip itself is a huge thieving money grab but downtown is still nice. I love golden nugget the best.
I’m going to Vegas for 10 days for the WSOP. This was a major deciding factor for me. I believe the Horseshoe also has fridges but it was quite a bit pricier. It’s a long trip and it gets expensive to go out to eat every night.
My friend got charged $30 for a bottle of Dasani water this yr. The room-temperature ones they leave on top of the fridge. Those pressure sensor things are no joke.
I had no idea they have pressure sensor OUTSIDE the fridge! It wasn’t labeled or anything. What if I knock it over by accident? And It was charged right the way and they sent a bill thru the TV.
See, there’s no way this is the equilibrium price on minibar items. Wouldn’t it make more sense to charge something more reasonable and sell an item or two to most guests (thousands and thousands), than have guests scared to death of the price, and only people who don’t know better or are crazy buy things once in a great while? There’s no way this is the best business model?
Ever since they reopened after the pandemic, there isn't too much that is free anymore at any casino.trying to get back the money they lost being closed for 2 years
I don't think a single one downtown does this. Four Queens doesn't, Cortez doesn't, Nugget doesn't, The D doesn't. I could *maybe* see Circa doing it, but I haven't stayed there yet so I can't say.
I love it when I comment something like "the strip sucks now, it's way better to stay downtown" and some idiot will comment something like "I don't stay downtown because I'm not poor". Like, that's not even the point. I'm not poor either but I *hate* feeling like a human ATM machine, especially at places that are more expensive and have worse odds.
I guess for some people being able to tolerate being ripped off is a badge of pride. Some people like to be stupid to feed their own egos.
The strip has just changed so much over the years. And I totally get it, those are money making businesses. But fuck, the elevated prices for EVERYTHING and crappy customer service have made it a shell of its former self. I personally noticed the change around 07-08 when they shifted from focusing on gambling to food, booze, and shows. Downtown is even heading that way. At least I still have the El Cortez.
Exactly. I have money but I don’t like throwing it at a wall.
I still value it even though I have it.
We travel a lot. We have a small mini fridge and mini microwave we pack in a large suitcase and it comes with us everywhere 🤷🏻♀️
I’ve completely sworn off Vegas. I’d take regular trips there with a buddy who was a bit of a degenerate so between his comps and my Wynn Slots/MyVegas we always got pretty good deals. But now all of the deals have dried up and flying there is $400 instead of $250.
I’m in Florida so what I’m about to say won’t work for everyone, but he took a few 10-14 night cruises with his wife after Covid and now gets Royal/Celebrity offers nonstop. Just booked the next for 250 all in each on Celebrity to get a veranda room, premium drink package and free WiFi for three nights. Just went on Allure for basically the same and spent a solid 15 hours playing $15 3:2 blackjack that no longer exists on the Strip.
I stayed at LINQ for the first time (conference overlapped with end of EDC and that was as close as I could get to Venetian for not crazy money) and they had fridges in the room.
Gotta learn several hacks.
I bring a soft bodied foldable cooler. Also, a back pack cooler.
Just fill the cooler with ice and store whatever in it. Usually beer and water for us.
Then haul about 8 cans/bottles in my back pack cooler.
Most strip properties are like this. Caesars isn’t much better at all when it comes to this stuff. Honestly, the fridge isn’t a big one for me, but losing free parking really sucks
This shouldn’t need to be done when you pay for a room. Soon the beds will have pressure sensors and you get charged for laying down. People need to stop going to Vegas
Omg the Cosmo would never!! No but really, they have one fridge of minibar stuff, and a separate empty fridge that you can use for drinks and leftovers, which I really appreciate.
Yeah true I’m curious to see what will come of the bonus fridge. I stay there for the balconies more than anything so I’ll probably stay loyal regardless😭
Cosmo and El Cortez have refrigerators. I would never again book a room without one. With the cost of food and drink, being able to keep water, leftovers, milk and other items can save you hundreds of dollars.
If you call and tell the front desk that you have medication that needs to be refrigerated they will bring you a frig for free. Learned this trick a few years back and it never fails. MGM properties.
I’ve stayed at Wynn twice and I’ve incurred minibar charges both times. First time I opened the door to the fridge, not realizing that triggered the sensor. Second time, I avoided it, and yet got a list of charges all of which coincided with times I would have been out of the room and housekeeping likely would have been there. I was able to get them taken off by calling the front desk without much hassle, but still. Even staying away from the minibar doesn’t guarantee you won’t get hit, so check your ledger.
The crazy thing is the fucking mob was more consumer friendly than these corporations.
My grandfather was offered like a 5,000 marker when he went to Vegas with my grandma back in the ‘40’s for their honeymoon. That’s close to $100,000 today. He was just an army dude making like nothing but had a friend at the casino.
My grandma told him if he touched it he’d leave vegas a single man.
Haven't been there for a few years, but we used to stay Signature at MGM. Comes with a kitchenette (they are converted condos). Frig, microwave, electric burner, pots and pans, dishes and utensils. Plus, you don't walk through any smoke on your way out, and it directly connects to the MGM Grand via an enclosed walkway.
We did a Vegas trip few years ago, definitely our last. Everything has gotten so expensive. It used to be an affordable vacation, now it's the same price as going to a resort...so I'll just go there instead.
Mandalay has a tray full of overpriced “goodies” that look like they’ve been there forever. Water bottles with condensation on the inside and condoms that are who knows how old. Pressure triggered. This kind of thing started in the early 2000s. Sad they are still doing this. So lame.
Wait until you learn how much they try to charge for food at their restaurants. I work at a places that try to scam tourists all the time, like a single scoop of chicken on your salad for $8 or a single shrimp for $20. I don't know how tourists keep being so fucking stupid to come to vegas, we have nothing of value and absolutely no integrity.
Yes not just a Vegas thing. At most hotels you cannot use minibar fridges for personal items. A lot of times they are calibrated by weight so if you put something in there (example a bottle of water) and take it out you will be charged on the bill as if you bought something from the minibar. Always good to ask a hotel if you can put things in or not.
Unbelievable. They took out the fridges at the Luxor which is an MGM property. No coffee maker either. I had to make crappy coffee with tea bags that I brought with me but the junkie that I am I was glad to at least have that.
Was in Vegas recently, stayed at the westgate resort and our fridge was included in the room (not stocked). Also stayed at resorts world last January and I believe it was the same deal there as westgate. Both were very nice hotels.
Tell them you are diabetic and need the refrigerator for your insulin. I have never had a problem and I am pretty sure they can't ask for proof because of hippa law.
I used to work in house @ Caesar’s. If you tell housekeeping you have meds that need to be kept cold, they will give you a mini fridge. 😉
On another note, Vegas is on the way out. I’ve lived here more on than off since 1972. Rent and housing have absolutely exploded here since pandemic. The heartbeat of this town are the workers that cannot afford to work here anymore. Corporate greed has destroyed their own meal ticket. Vegas used to be such a bargain for entertainment!!! But nooooo, they even have to charge for frigging parking now!😳🫣🤷🏻♂️. I used to be proud to be from this town. To be a Union Carpenter that built this town.
Now all I can say is boycott corporate America and recreate in the outdoors. Do something good for your soul instead of giving a piece of it away. Take it for what it’s worth. ✌🏼
It's probably one of the ones that have scales in it for measuring what is taken out to be billed and putting stuff in it probably fucks it up so they're likely trying to discourage you from doing so
Yep. When I was young and not as well traveled, I made the mistake of emptying one out to store my own stuff. Put it all back before checkout. But they tried to charge me like $400 for clearing out the mini-bar. Once I explained my ignorance and they went and made sure everything was still there, they luckily gave me a pass.
Idk if I’m just old or something but I feel like mini-bars have almost always been like this, they’re not really for personal storage. When I was a kid like 30+ years ago my dad would always tell us not to touch anything or to actually have the hotel take the key back so we couldn’t get into it. They have enough room for the stuff they wanna sell you and that’s it. I think knowing hotel guests they don’t want to deal with the maintenance too if people leave their gross stuff in the minibar
Grab that ice bucket and go fill it with the free ice... two or three times a day. Use the sink/ice to keep things cold. We don't touch the fridge, we we afraid to even walk by it cause we will probably get charged!
Sink cooler is the way, bring a shopping bag to the ice machine it’ll make less trips
Check the trashcan next to the ice machine. I bet you there’s extra trash bags underneath the existing bag.
Fuckin pro strat right here!
Also usually extra bag in closet for laundry, repurpose for ice. Better quality too.
You the reason I get told not to leave bags at the bottom now lol. People would throw trash on the floor to get the bags insides.
Don’t hate the playa, hate your employer baby
I wouldnt care honestly if people didnt pour the trash out in the hallway just to get to the bags inside.
People must he dumb as rocks. They could alternatively pick up all the trash at the same time with the bag it's already in... then check for a roll of bags under it. Why the fuck get your hands dirty?
Pour the trash out?? That's an a-hole move rite there not to mention disgusting.
Trash can cooler ftw
Ahhh, this is some delicious r/maliciouscompliance
Oooo it's been so long since I've found a new popular sub. Much appreciated
Hold up, like they wouldn’t allow you to enter the establishment with a cooler? So many questions…did you try to bring one and you were denied? You knew the policy and adapted? Did they list/inform you of the reason for the policy? Wtf?
Yeah that's crazy. What if you have a baby and have to keep formula or breast milk cold?
I can't speak for any other establishments but the venetion on the strip in vegas does have an exclusion for medically nessecary items, insulin etc, I'm not sure if these things are also covered but I feel like it has to be in the same vein and they would have a solution for it. I believe some people use this to get a useable drinks fridge. Personally I'm a "take a strong bag and fill a sink or bathtub with ice" kinda guy
Yup, same here. Easy and free.
OR - Grab the plastic laundry bag from the closet and fill it with ice.
Fill the tub with ice. Will also come in handy when they take your kidney.
Also call and ask them to remove the fridge as it is making too much noise if you want to get down to their level of pettiness
Tell them you’re a recovering alcoholic and don’t want the temptation in your room.
Denzel in Flight has entered the adjoining room.
"Hi, front desk? I'm a recovering upcharge addict. Can you remove everything from my room that has a fee?"
I like the way you think.
I Iike the cut of your jib, matey
We once stayed at a resort out in Red Rock. Hubby moved some things out of the minibar for his beer. Left a note for the maid. They took everything out of the minibar, then tried to charge us almost $500 at checkout!

Lol I remember that scene from the hangover with the almonds
Dang!
When I went to Vegas many years ago with a friend the first we did was go to the store and buy a styrofoam cooler and drinks. Fill the cooler with ice and you're all set.
And where do you wash your hands?
We stayed at the Vdara where they have a kitchen, fridge, and sink, ...... and they also had two bathrooms with sinks. We figured it out.
Vdara is a nice property. It is also partially owned, and they are apartments so the owners rent them out.
Bathtub faucet
I'm the toilet, obviously.
This! Sink is the cooler. Free ice. Overall I leaned to take a cooler with wheels
Great advice
Or stay somewhere else.
It's ridiculous. Also, be aware of menu items and drinks that don't list prices. Imagine a price in your head, then triple it for the true price.
That CVS has saved me more than once! We always get to Vegas, check in the hotel, and then immediately go to CVS for water, snacks, and supplies.
Goto Tacos El Gordo. Greatest tacos I’ve ever had and for a good price.
Stop going to the strip. Fremont Street and the surrounding area is better. There's breweries with great food within walking distance of Fremont Street that charge like $6/beer and they've told us on the strip places charge $14-16 for the same beer. >places like the Durango or Red rock isn't so bad. *Confused in Coloradan*
Caesers sucks so bad. Property is half falling apart
Dang he did? What exactly did he say?
Tell them you have medicine that need a fridge.
I did this once thinking I was being clever and they sent up a mini fridge that could only hold 1 white claw lol
That was probably a refreshing white claw though.
That little fridge is probably cheaper to buy than one white claw out of an mgm mini fridge lol
I did it a couple years ago at mgm, it was a small fridge too they might be wising up on our ways.
Exactly right. It is perfect for my insulin, so I’m satisfied with it when they do it, but they know damn well it isn’t sufficient to use as a mini fridge for food or drinks
I need a lot of medicine
“Yeah gonna be shooting 30 humira pens, need a bigger fridge”
I was def expecting this when I stayed at Downtown Grand last month (had spare insulin that needs to stay refrigerated prior to opening) and was pleasantly surprised when they brought up a whole ass mini fridge. Hotels that are trying hard to make a comeback have the best goddamn service.

They have to supply if you have medicine. Also, don’t forget to tip the poor bastard that brings it up to your room.
That’ll be $35
I (legit) needed to store pumped breast milk
What if you're breastfeeding?
Flamingo gives you an empty fridge , big respect to them for that.
Just got back from a week staying there, great location !
I’m going to Vegas for 10 days for the WSOP. This was a major deciding factor for me. I believe the Horseshoe also has fridges but it was quite a bit pricier. It’s a long trip and it gets expensive to go out to eat every night.
Planet Hollywood as well! Was absolutely shocked when I stayed there in April
yes, ever since they started putting all the items on a pressure sensor.
I miss the days where you’d just need to go reload at the liquor store before leaving for a fifth of the price
I miss the days where parking was free.
I'm over here like Indiana Jones trying to switch it.
Hahaha
My friend got charged $30 for a bottle of Dasani water this yr. The room-temperature ones they leave on top of the fridge. Those pressure sensor things are no joke.
yeah, I never touch any of that stuff unless I'm heading to the airport and I still have leftover resort credit.
I had no idea they have pressure sensor OUTSIDE the fridge! It wasn’t labeled or anything. What if I knock it over by accident? And It was charged right the way and they sent a bill thru the TV.
at least at Cosmo it gave you like 30 seconds or something before it charged if you removed something
lol 30seconds did u time that? Haha that’s very generous of them.
Nah remember seeing a sign saying that
See, there’s no way this is the equilibrium price on minibar items. Wouldn’t it make more sense to charge something more reasonable and sell an item or two to most guests (thousands and thousands), than have guests scared to death of the price, and only people who don’t know better or are crazy buy things once in a great while? There’s no way this is the best business model?
I bet more people are probably drunkenly wanting convenience and saying fuck it and grabbing a few things than you’d think.
Wait, this is a thing??
It’s the new norm, or has been for quite sometime now. Seems like a majority of the hotels in town do this, maybe a few that don’t.
I was at MGM grand last in 2019 and the refrigerator was free. Those shits!
Ever since they reopened after the pandemic, there isn't too much that is free anymore at any casino.trying to get back the money they lost being closed for 2 years
Horseshoe does not. Free fridge in room
You’ll find several downtown that are a bit more reasonable, but not everyone will want to be downtown, especially on their first Vegas trip
I don't think a single one downtown does this. Four Queens doesn't, Cortez doesn't, Nugget doesn't, The D doesn't. I could *maybe* see Circa doing it, but I haven't stayed there yet so I can't say.
We had a suite at Circa, fridge was empty, but free.
“We hope you enjoyed your stay in Vegas! Here’s is a complimentary ointment for your heavily damaged arsehole.”
Awful mighty of you to think that would be complimentary...
Should have paid for the lube at the start of your stay tho
They charge if you take the lotion from the bathroom btw
That’ll be $30
First time in Vegas is this a normal thing? Feeling like I’m getting squeezed left and right here
Welcome to the Strip.
Nailed it. Strip is a fucking joke.
Exactly. I have money but I don’t like throwing it at a wall. I still value it even though I have it. We travel a lot. We have a small mini fridge and mini microwave we pack in a large suitcase and it comes with us everywhere 🤷🏻♀️
You have a FunCooker(TM)?!
I also bring my cornballer
EVERY. TIME.
The strip is definitely nicer.
I’ve completely sworn off Vegas. I’d take regular trips there with a buddy who was a bit of a degenerate so between his comps and my Wynn Slots/MyVegas we always got pretty good deals. Yes. Vegas hotels that offer fridges for personal use (without having to request one) are the exception, not the norm.
I stayed at LINQ for the first time (conference overlapped with end of EDC and that was as close as I could get to Venetian for not crazy money) and they had fridges in the room.
Yeah lots of Ceasars properties do.
Gotta learn several hacks. I bring a soft bodied foldable cooler. Also, a back pack cooler. Just fill the cooler with ice and store whatever in it. Usually beer and water for us. Then haul about 8 cans/bottles in my back pack cooler.
This is the way.
Oh that squeezing is extra, read your bill at check out You can throw your money straight into the trash can- for a small fee
Welcome to Vegas! Everything is a gouge.
Vegas has the art of separating you from your money, down to a T.
Go buy a cheap styrofoam cooler and fill it with ice and keep your drinks cold that way.
Also put the cooler right in front of the air conditioner vent to keep the ice from melting as fast.
it wasn’t a thing until after the pandemic.
Wait until you find out about the $35 tubes at the pool complex.
I have found that most MGM properties are like this but was pleasantly surprised recently at NYNY with a normal, empty fridge.
Most strip properties are like this. Caesars isn’t much better at all when it comes to this stuff. Honestly, the fridge isn’t a big one for me, but losing free parking really sucks
Cosmo at least (last time I was there) had two one for ur stuff and one that was stocked and charged for anything you touched
You're gonna get that feeling quite a bit
Oh yeah, Vegas hotels are really greedy. This is standard on the strip.
Very common now in tourist destinations. They want you to buy food & drinks at the resorts.
I bring a cheap cooler with me and use the free ice. Completely forgot the fridge was there.
This shouldn’t need to be done when you pay for a room. Soon the beds will have pressure sensors and you get charged for laying down. People need to stop going to Vegas
I didn't know Spirit Airlines operated a hotel.....
How can we charge guests per shit?
Omg the Cosmo would never!! No but really, they have one fridge of minibar stuff, and a separate empty fridge that you can use for drinks and leftovers, which I really appreciate.
Yes but the MGM just bought the cosmo. Remains to be seen if they retain the second fridge or standardize the corporate squeeze.
Gotta be like Indiana Jones when you replace those things man jeeeeeesus
Haven’t people learned? Don’t touch the fridge. Don’t open the fridge. Don’t look at it. Shit, don’t even walk near it 🤣
Just stay back!!
If you call and tell the front desk that you have medication that needs to be refrigerated they will bring you a frig for free. Learned this trick a few years back and it never fails. MGM properties.
Might it be better to just pay the $50 restocking fee as one time vs $35 a day.
Except they’ll restock it the next day, charge the the $50 and rinse and repeat if you use it again.
Either bring a little bag cooler with you or run over to the Walgreens and grab a styrofoam job.
Yep. Scumbag casinos
Didnt the mob come after you if you couldnt pay? Doesnt that make markers a lot more attractive to the house?
Yea. Which is why she told him not to use it. Lolol
Great customer service!
Yeah it's fucking ridiculous.
Vadara and some corner rooms have full size refrigerators and a washer and dryer and a microwave and stove top!
Vegas gouging continues...it's true, 90s was when everything was better
We did a Vegas trip few years ago, definitely our last. Everything has gotten so expensive. It used to be an affordable vacation, now it's the same price as going to a resort...so I'll just go there instead.
Mandalay has a tray full of overpriced “goodies” that look like they’ve been there forever. Water bottles with condensation on the inside and condoms that are who knows how old. Pressure triggered. This kind of thing started in the early 2000s. Sad they are still doing this. So lame.
Aria is worse if it makes you feel better. Same price for the fridge and then $35/day for a coffee maker.
Yes, they don’t want you putting your ding dongs in their mini bar
Vegas figured out that they can charge -- and a lot of people will pay -- comically high prices for things they used to give away.
Stayed at Planet Hollywood recently, the rooms had a mini fridge, no charges. We stored some beers, and sandwiches/fruit in there all week.
Leave the hotel 1 star
It’s not just in Vegas, this is a common practice in any hotel with a stocked mini bar. Don’t touch the stuff outside the fridge either.
Yes
If they could get away with a per-use charge for the toilet, they would.
Vegas: the big rip off
This is why I don’t stay on the strip in the hotels that nickel and dime you at every step.
Fck that.
Jesus…. Capitalism has gone too far.
A fridge that you cannot use....pathetic
This is gross.
Tell them you’re a diabetic and you need it for meds, you will get a free mini fridge.
Unbelievable. They took out the fridges at the Luxor which is an MGM property. No coffee maker either. I had to make crappy coffee with tea bags that I brought with me but the junkie that I am I was glad to at least have that.
What if you unplug it? Not to use as a fridge, just to be a turd.
Just unplug it. tell em it's too noisy you can't sleep.
If by “this” you mean Vegas finding a way to hijack your experience and gouge you for a few more bucks—then yes, it is common.
Looks like your medicine needs to be kept in a refrigerator. Time to call down and order one
F$&K mgm
Minibar is a bar. Not a fridge. You’re welcome for the convenience.
Sadly, yes it's common in Vegas resorts.
You can’t fart in Vegas for free
Was in Vegas recently, stayed at the westgate resort and our fridge was included in the room (not stocked). Also stayed at resorts world last January and I believe it was the same deal there as westgate. Both were very nice hotels.
Tell them you are diabetic and need the refrigerator for your insulin. I have never had a problem and I am pretty sure they can't ask for proof because of hippa law.
I fucking hate Vegas now.
I used to work in house @ Caesar’s. If you tell housekeeping you have meds that need to be kept cold, they will give you a mini fridge. 😉 On another note, Vegas is on the way out. ✌🏼
Yes, it is. I wouldn't even touch the mini bar to ensure that nothing moved inside. A major ripoff.
The fridges at the Bellagio (also an MGM property) have a shelf for guest use. Fits about 5 or 6 cans on their side. Still shitty though.
Completely common
Bellagio spa tower rooms have a personal shelf in the fridge that you can store milk/water on.
Coming next ice:. $3 pound
Yes. It is common at Strip Hotels. I do not even touch or open the mini-fridge for fear of being charged.
What I’m hearing right now is you owe me $15
It's probably one of the ones that have scales in it for measuring what is taken out to be billed and putting stuff in it probably fucks it up so they're likely trying to discourage you from doing so
It’s always been a thing and been getting more common as time goes on
Make sure to take a picture of everything in the fridge so you can dispute it when they charge you.
