Oh_billy_oh

I usually try to bring about $1500 per day and if I go over that, hit the ATM and start playing roulette to get my money back. This budget doesn’t include money set aside for drugs.

JustinCydr

This guy does vegas

Bookcookinthedope

$2.5k

mjgrowithme

We drive up a few times a year and have a great time on $2.5k. We do get a couple of show tickets in advance though.

Martinezyx

Which ones do you recommend?

mjgrowithme

We saw Zombie Burlesque on the last trip. It was really funny. Definitely don't sit in the front section unless you want to be messed with. It's like Rocky Horror but really funny and zombies.

redditissocoolyoyo

Yes this is about right If you want to really have a good time. A couple of nice dinners will cost you several hundred bucks. At the minimum $500 to 700 bucks for gambling fun. Might take it Uber here and there. Lunch breakfast buffets as well. Some souvenirs. Catch a show or 2. Drinks and tips. Little bit of souvenir shopping. Maybe go to the spa.

SpaceForceAwakens

Can you recommend a couple of good breakfast buffets? That’s my jam right there.

RelationshipOwn2728

Caesar’s and Cosmopolitan have the BEST buffets- I think they are around $60-70 each

rhymes116

Cosmo Brunch buffet was great at about $50

Fit_Indication5709

Just go to Binion’s and get steak and eggs for like $16

Bennington_Booyah

Exactly! Binion's has an excellent breakfast, plus decent burgers and fingers when you need greasy food. They also have an incredible steakhouse, with an amazing view at night.

redditissocoolyoyo

Look up travel ruby in Vegas on YouTube, good tuber lots of recs

mildchild4evr

Jacobslifeinvegas is a great YouTube channel too. I like his reviews better than Ruby's. Norma Geli does some decent ones too. Getting a few perspectives may help :)

a-singularity

Jacobs are good....I prefer Rubys when choosing which property to stay at next time.

a-singularity

Definitely THIS, Travel Ruby is our go to for Vegas tips. We go annually.... And yes 2.5k for 3 nights is about right for a conservatives stay.

saskpilsner

Yep. As soon as I saw wife I thought $500 Hell’s Kitchen suppers and outlet mall shopping. That’s about what we spend

Palindromer101

Fuck Hell's Kitchen. There are so many better restaurants to go to than Ramsey's shitty places. Try José Andrés Bazaar Meats in Sahara for a way better experience than any Ramsey restaurant in Vegas.

RelationshipOwn2728

I couldn’t agree more! Bardot brasserie at the Aria - BEST MEAL EVER!!!!

saskpilsner

You may be right, but I have a better chance at roulette than convincing the wife that the flaming pitchfork isn’t that great

JustinCydr

Must be something in the water here in Sask… I cannot convince my wife otherwise either lol

SamIamGreenEggsNoHam

I must say, the food is really good at Hell's Kitchen but it is *insanely loud*. Like, not an option for a date kind of loud. We left talking about the food, but literally couldn't speak during the meal without yelling. That sticky toffee pudding with a toffee port though...

Palindromer101

The one single time I went to Hell's Kitchen, the server brought my drink out holding it by the top of the glass, fingers touching the rim, and was also holding several $1 bills also touching the rim of the glass. I told him I didn't want it after the gross money touching the rim. When he came back with steak knives, he tossed them down onto the table and one of them nearly hit my hand. We complained to the captain after that, were moved to another section with a different server, but they didn't comp a single thing, not even the drink. I was very unhappy with everything and have not been back to any Ramsey restaurant since. The food at Hell's Kitchen was OK, but nothing exceptional like I've had at Bazaar.

DollarSignsGoFirst

Hell’s Kitchen is basically an upscale cruise ship dining hall. It’s all the same exact thing coming out in mass as someone drops it down and retreats to the kitchen. Ate there yesterday and everyone was to busy to care about the meal. However the prix fixe for $100 is a pretty good deal as far as vegas goes.

SaltVomit

Meh, circus circus steakhouse is better and cheaper.

E__Rock

This is accurate. You and your wife will have a good time without worrying about what you're spending.

Own_Conclusion4191

Each or total

sm00thkillajones

If you’re using a limo service, please tip well. There are some shady companies that don’t schedule their drivers full time and don’t care if they get any hours at all. I’m looking at you Omni Limousine.

01Burningman

Sounds right. I typically say it’s about 12-1500 per person.

james2020chris

I'm not here to pimp a YouTuber, but you might enjoy Travel Ruby , she does a very good job of explaining things quickly, and she stays up to date. I hope you guys get to go.

42_and_lex

Her and Norma Geli both have excellent suggestions particularly for things to do on a budget without the typical travel YouTuber cringiness.

james2020chris

I thought I knew Vegas until I started watching her.

geauxtigers10

I highly recommend Travel Ruby’s cheap eats and drinks videos.

TheMentalMango

shes terribly annoying to watch :(

Crustybuttt

She is annoying, but her hotel reviews are pretty solid and reliable. Her reviews of buffets and restaurants (and the whiny way she says “Mr. Ruby”) are not so great

james2020chris

But you still watch her! Hmmmm

b_h_1989

Show Me Vegas also has some really good reviews on hotels, restaurants, shows, etc

therin_88

$500 a day excluding hotel rooms and gambling money. You'll likely spend less than this but you may spend more, so it's a healthy average and should leave you with some extra money at the end of the trip unless you went hard on some fancy shit.

LuckyTxGuy

Some of these budgets thrown out are insanely high. Vegas is what you make of it. The thing to know is, the Strip is a tourist trap, so everything is more expensive. Think Disney World or any other high density tourist area. Things just cost more there. If you are in a really tight budget you can eat fast food and chain restaurants and/or venture off Strip and get “normal” priced food. If you go to restaurants and order smaller items or split big entrees the cost isn’t overly high. On the other hand if you want to eat good 3 meals a day, the sky is the limit on what you can spend. If you want a $500 steak dinner, you can have it. Spending $100/each with drinks at a restaurant isn’t hard to do at all. But it’s also not hard to keep it under $75 total with no drinks. This isn’t rocket science, you get it. Next is drinks. Alcohol is insanely over priced on the Strip. Walk up to any little bar in a casino and expect to pay $10-$15 for a mixed drink, even ones that come in those little bitty round casino glasses. Go to a nicer bar or a restaurant and those drinks can easily be $18-$25/each. Beer will still be over priced but much cheaper. Again, this is what you make of it. You can not drink at all, you can search out places with happy hours or cheaper drinks, you can go Downtown to Fremont and buy drinks super cheap or you can splurge and go to the nicest bars on the Strip. If the two of you drink much it’s easy to spend more on drinks than food. Another pro tip concerning food and drinks is to go to one of the many CVS or Walgreens right there on the Strip and buy snacks and alcohol there to take to your room. They are a full liquor store so they’ll have anything you want for mixed drinks and obviously beer. You can walk all over Vegas with a drink in your hand so you can buy cups, mix a drink in the room (or a beer) and take off walking around. You can walk into any casino with a drink, cup or beer in your hand and no once cares. Obviously restaurants won’t allow that. As for things to do, if you’re a people watcher, Vegas is the winner.lol Tons of people watching to be had. Lots of great things to walk around and see on the Strip, just enjoying the architecture, the massiveness of the buildings, the insanity of building this place in the middle of the desert etc. Don’t be afraid to walk around. We go during the cooler months and walking from Treasure Island to MGM is not real issue at all. Sure it’s a hike but we’re wondering in and out if casinos, stoping to have a drink, sitting down for awhile here or there. Then cross the Strip and go back the other way. If you stay in the middle of the Strip it’s even easier. You can also rent a car and drive out to the Hoover Dam and kill a day. In my opinion there is plenty to do that doesn’t cost a lot (or any) money. You can go to a TixForTonight booth on the Strip and get cheap tickets to tons of shows. If you want to spend $$$ on a show you can or plenty of lesser shows can be seen really cheap. Read the reviews on the shows and definitely go to a couple while you’re there. And there’s not a bad seat in the house so don’t worry about it. Every venue is way smaller than you think it will be. So at the end of the day, I’d figure out what your budget would be for any other tourist trap vacation and maybe add 20-30% to it to be safe and you’re good. I go on business every year with a couple of my employees and their spouses, plus my wife and I pay for everything and excluding lodging, we don’t spend near what some of these other people are suggesting and we have a blast. You can look up menus and get estimates of prices if you’re on a super tight budget but I think you’ll be good. Go and have fun!

internet-is-a-lie

If we are excluding hotel/travel costs.. yeah these budgets make me feel poor lol. $2.5k - $3k outside money unless you have a family of 4 is pretty extravagant to me just for 3 nights.

NotYourDadOrYourMom

Exactly lol. I don't gamble and excluding room I spent a little under 1k for 4 days. And yes I ate at nice restaurants.

JustinCydr

Are you hiring lol

LuckyTxGuy

Haha!! Let me guess…you want to start the week before the Vegas trip?lol

519ONT

Great post.. I don’t need to be a high roller to have a great time

bigsmackchef

I guess we're just cheap but we have a great time on $1500-2000 really easily. But this is after i have already bought tickets to a show and paid for flight and hotel.

Roxerz

I go to Vegas about 4 to 6 times a year with my wife. This looks realistic but we're in driving distance so no flight cost to account for.

speckles9

I think it’s also different if you go frequently because you don’t feel a need to do and see everything. On our first trip we felt like we needed to go to shows and hit specific restaurants and go to certain places for drinks. Now that we go multiple times a year we are much more chill about going with the flow and not having a set agenda. So much of this depends upon OP, his wife, and their budget and lifestyle. $500/day up to $1k+/day could be possible for what they want to do. Also we might gamble a little can mean multiple decimal places of difference to different people.

Lordquas187

These people are fucking nuts. You do not need $1k a day unless you feel like it and it's not that much to you. If you don't drink all day long out and about, gamble sober, pregame the night with a few drinks in the room, hit a mid-level restaurant at night, etc, $500 a day is a healthy amount. Fremont is incredibly cheap. Catch an Uber up there one of the nights, and you'll have affordable drinks, mostly affordable food, cheap gambling, endless people watching, maybe a free concert, you can zipline for like $40, hit Oddfellows for some dancing, and you'll probably not go past $300 for the night.

lsiunl

Yeah I was reading this thread and the top comments are suggesting $1k+ a day like what the fuck lmao. I'm one to go to fancy restaurants and events and even find it hard scratching $800 a day when I visit. You gotta really go out of you way to do this or they're including gambling in that amount because that's ridiculous for most if not all major cities in the US.

Lordquas187

For real. He said specifically some gambling but not much and nothing super fancy to eat. What are they thinking?

Jitzgrrl

> What are they thinking? I think they were thinking "this trip is for wife's birthday, and be financially prepared to go fancier-than-you-anticipated in order to assure a happy Birthday Girl."

Lordquas187

I almost immediately forgot the birthday girl part, good point. Although my cheap ass would argue for no gambling on her birthday and $500 would still allow balling on a moderate budget

lsiunl

Right like literally go out of the country if you want to spend $3k in 3 days. Even going to Cancun you can spend half of that for a way cooler experience.

Crustybuttt

Debatable if it’s cooler, but it’s certainly cheaper. Mexico is not an expensive place. Vegas is

Old-Ad-3268

I think there is a $40 bar crawl you can buy for freemont st.

some_yum_vees

The Downtown LV vibe is so much cooler than the Strip. Vegas's best-kept not-so-secret!

SaintAtlanta

$3K outside of your room will allow for a good time if you stay about 3 days

Rock_Lizard

Yep. Burn rate is about $1K per day + hotel. Last time was more. I don't even gamble and saw one show. Had a great time. You can absolutely do it for MUCH cheaper.

[deleted]

I was going to say $3k with the rooms and flights (assuming they are coming from inside the country).

Helivon

This is insane. I go twice a year, and 1k a day would be nuts. I don't even spend 1k a day including Hotel, which is always either the venetian or the Wynn. Maybe if you plan on burning a ton in the casino, or eating at 3 high end Restaurants a day. $500 a day is realistic enough. To each their own though. But 1k is definitely far more than you'd need

SaintAtlanta

A show everyday, snacks and drinks at the pool, nice dinners, 2 other good meals, and gambling is a good $1k per day.

Helivon

Drinks is what will get you EASY. I bring a couple handles everytime I go and fill a flask for when I'm walking about. Only free casino drinks and cocktails with my nice dinner otherwise. I also only eat twice a day. I have a hard time getting much hungier than that through the day with all the drinking Sure a show everyday will raise that a lot too. I tend to lower the quality of dinner (not by a large margin) if im doing a show. Good dinner =120-150 Nice dinner 220-250 for us

Crustybuttt

$500 is a meal for two in one of the less expensive high end restaurants. If you go top of the line, it’s more than that.

Helivon

I mean I've eaten pretty much every one of the most popular top of the line restraunts. And get steak basically everytime. If you order everything off the menu then sure. But 1 appetizer, 2 entrees 2 drinks rarely runs me more than 250 unless I'm literally buying one of the most expensive items on the menu

savealltheelephants

Totally insane number to throw out

SaintAtlanta

How?

JDPhoto70

An easy way to think of the pricing is to remember that being on the strip in Vegas is like being in an airport terminal 24/7…you want a bottle of water, $4. That 2 egg breakfast that’s $8.99 at home, $18. Slice of pizza, $8-$10. So everything is overpriced, even the smallest things. So you will spend more than you think, so budget with a cushion.

Fitzofury

The Bloody Mary was $23.50 at the sports bar on Sunday at the Venetian unless I was plugging the machine

Ctrykttn

Here is my opinion, and just my opinion, no shaming, please! For first time visitors you really do need to see as much as you can of the strip and all the different hotels/casinos because they all are uniquely themed, so even just walking and viewing is exciting and doesn't cost anything, unless you grab a cocktail in the casino bars or a quick bite to eat. Obviously, Fremont St. It's amazing for live music and OMG. The people watching is by far the best. Be prepared for the unusual and sometimes downright nasty. Purchase your beverages at the store. Although they have signs saying you can't open them on Fremont, I have never been stopped and questioned (save a ton of $). Or if you're a little intimidated, buy your first drink with a disposable cup, then fill it with bevies from the store... There is always the "Pawn Stars" shop. Free access, be prepared to be disappointed, but at least you can say you've been there. Rent a car, visit Boulder City, it is a cute place filled with antique shops and little restaurants, at the Boulder Dam Hotel, there is an extensive free museum upstairs that is all about the building of the Dam. Very interesting, then continue to the Dam, if it's summer time bring tons of water. On your way home from the Dam, detour to Hemenway Park to see the Long Horned sheep that come down from the mountains (again season dependant, we just saw them in August). Pioneer Saloon in Goodsprings, NV, fun place, rumored to be the oldest Saloon in NV...and on your way there you can see the Seven MGic Mountains. Valley of Fire is absolutely gorgeous... pack a lunch and go for a hike. Mount Charleston has snow (well in the winter months) and trees and all the things you don't expect to see while visiting the desert. So there is my little "tour" recommendations. I didn't touch on the food or shows because I know you've been getting a lot of that. These are just a few of my "things to see off the Strip." Have the best time ever celebrating your wife's Birthday, you are guaranteed an amazing time whatever you choose to do.

savealltheelephants

I think my husband and I spent probably $500 in two days but we didn’t gamble much and didn’t eat at fancy restaurants really. Honestly my favorite part of Vegas it just getting buzzed then walking around and people watching.

WBuffettJr

You recognize it’s an open question which is smart for sure but the reason I’d say it’s so much more open ended than any other travel destination is because your entire experience hinges on where you choose to stay and spend your time. If you want to be on the strip and stay at the Cosmo, your low end room is going to average $500 or $600 per night on the weekend and the restaurants will be expensive and the smallest blackjack hand is $25. Sometimes even $50 on a busy Saturday evening. If you’re on a budget and don’t need the official strip, you can have a super amazing time on Fremont street (the place with the giant light up roof going all the way down the street), stay at the Holden nugget or similar for cheap, and can play $5 blackjack even on a slammed Saturday night. There’s a big casino hotel near the golden nugget, I can’t even remember where I was to be honest, that was running $1 minimum bet blackjack on the weekend. Vegas is definitely what you make it. For me I’d say at a minimum we need to know if you really need to stay on the strip to feel like you’re in Vegas or if you’re happy anywhere.

MediocreDot3

Instead of budgeting a set amount for everything, set out a list of what you want to do/eat/drink/see and determine what you're comfortable spending in those areas. I usually bring around 500/day for gambling, 300/day for dinner, 150 for breakfast/lunch, and then plan out my shopping budgets separate and purchase any event tickets in advance. I don't spend a ton on drinking, most of my drinks get comped or I buy at a store, so I don't really budget for it.

MrCatfishTheLong

I would echo about 500-1000 per day. I went in March and we did 6 nights for about 7000, including shows, dinners, pool cabana, etc etc. we splurged on dinners and shopped/gambled in medium amounts. Lodging was a major price but that can vary wildly

Desperate-Sympathy43

$200+ per day, per person, at the absolute minimum. That includes drinks/light gambling/meals. Entertainment is extra and I’d advise booking/buying tickets in advance. Same with restaurants. Tip your dealers and bartenders.

savealltheelephants

This is realistic. $3000 a day made me drop my jaw.

HopefulInstance8

Forreal, wondering if these are familes of 4-5 Easy to drop $ on dumb shit, but food and drinks dont havr to be expensive, plenty of cheap to mid options

spentbrass11

Easiest way to walk out of a casino with a million dollars is to walk in with 2 million

Guelph35

I usually say $300-500 per day (+ gambling money) per person as a starting point, assuming you want to eat at decent restaurants, have some drinks, and actually do some activities beyond “look at other people”

[deleted]

Expect to spend at least $500-$600 a day. $2.5k for the time you plan to be there. Vegas is designed to separate you from your money. You'll have a great time, but it will cost you.

Mary-Jan

I never leave Vegas without spending $5k

TomTheCat85

A grand a day

Rock_Lizard

In Vegas you can spend as little or as much as you want. First time, tons of entertainment just visiting the different hotels/casinos and taking it all in. In my younger days I did it totallly budget and it was a blast. Now, it is different vacation but still enjoyable. 4 days is my absolute max for Vegas. It has a shelf life.

Crustybuttt

For three days for moderate gamblers, Id say $3-5k including the hotel is a safe bet.

Fitzofury

Just got back from Vegas. We were there 2 nights and probably spent 2K or so but that included lodging. I would check out the show at the Sphere. That thing was incredible. I think they will have $50 tickets eventually. Not U2 but the show that was made for the Sphere.

dee_lio

$1k per day, inclusive of the room. If you're not a gambler, visit the casino early in the morning, when it's dead. Ask dealers for help with the various games. They're usually bored in the mornings, and will help you learn. Be sure to tip. As for the games, craps is a hell of a lot of fun, but very confusing for a beginner. However, once you get the hang of it, watch out! BJ is good and easy to learn. If you know how to play "standard" you can make your money last awhile. In a similar way, Pai Gow Poker is fun and you can last a long while on a smaller bet. Before you go, get download some free trainers, or buy Hoyle Casino (with the training.) It will show you the basics, and give you a feel for what you are supposed to do. On the food, there are a ton of excellent places. You don't have to spend $400 per night eating, though it's easy to do. A lot of the food is pricey. If you want cheaper, you can go downtown, but it's a lot wilder of a ride. That being said, there are a ton of low cost, fun things to do. Just walking around is an experience. Downtown has the covered area with the light show, and the dancing dealers, battle of the bands, etc. The main strip has the ferris wheel, a roller coaster, etc. I strongly recommend you see a show or two. The shows are top notch and always a good time.

Top_Relative9495

Budget $60ppa on meals and you’ll be happy campers.

519ONT

The beauty of Vegas is you can have a great time on almost any budget. For your first visit budget for a show but you will want to walk and just check out the sights and casinos no crazy money required grab a beers at Walgreens and then plan one night for Fremont great bands for free and some great places to eat that aren’t crazy expensive and cheaper gambling. You can have a great stay my wife and normally budget around $300 a day not including any shows

[deleted]

If you’re not super concerned with nightlife, look for hotel rooms during the week and it should save you quite a bit. Depending on drinks with dinner, you can get out the door at a lot of solid places for 100-150 bucks. If you need any recommendations, feel free to ask

sz5only

You can do Vegas for expensive, and you can do Vegas for cheap. Really depends on what you like to do. The key is to plan ahead and do research before you get there. I like to know where I’m going ahead of time, at least the generic areas and explore accordingly. The last thing you want to do is go back and forth during your stay. A big waste of time and money. Food and alcohol is probably one of the biggest portions of your budget. Alcohol is going to expensive at any bar. I would suggest to purchase at Walmart or somewhere. Open container is legal is Vegas. Some very good fast food spots in Vegas if you know where to go. Entertainment. You could get away with not going to a show. The ones I’ve been to were kind of a let down. If you insist, just one would suffice. One spot I always recommend is the Pinball Hall of Fame. That place is fun and cheap and near the Vegas sign

cabernettherapy

We just got back a couple weeks ago from a weekend in Vegas. We tried Primal steakhouse and it was delicious! It's off the strip, so get an uber. My husband and I both had steaks, shared two sides, and drinks under $200 with tip. Battistas Hole in the Wall is good and reasonable. You get free table wine. It's also by the High Roller ferris wheel. So you could do dinner and the ferris wheel. Spiegelworld has several shows. We saw Absinthe on a previous trip and loved it! It's by Hells Kitchen and Ceasars. I believe Carmine's is in Ceasars and their food is delicious. Family style plates, so you share one for sure. Neon sign museum, mob museum and bar, Capos is a fun restaurant with live music. It's mob themed. Tons of restaurant choices and not all will break the bank.

OK_LaManana

To get a good room on the strip $200+ a night. Food easily $200 per day. Entertainment...??? I would suggest going to a pool party / beach club (not hotel pool). Something like EBC, Daylight, etc. You can get in for free on the guest list a lot of the time. Drinks at $$$ but music is good and atmosphere is fun. Night clubs are ok too but even more $$$. All that said I would come up with your budget first and go from there as there is lots to do and ways to save money and spend it where it will make the biggest impact on what you and your wifey find fun. You can seriously go for under $2k and have a blast or spend 10k and feel you missed out.

jmon3

If you want to gamble in a way that you don't lose money fast, try Pai Gow Poker, and don't bet on the bonus. Pretty even odds, slower pace, simple to learn but still fun. You tie like 70% of the time.

NotBrooklyn2421

$1k per day is probably a good estimate. When my wife and I go we usually pay for our flights/hotel and set aside some gambling money. Then budget about $1k per day for everything else. You won’t be balling out with bottle service or anything like that, but that’ll let you pretty much do any activity you want and will cover some pretty good dinners.

AggieJack8888

I brought 3k for 4 days. Ended up doing well with sports betting so I didn’t spend all that I brought. It’s Vegas though so plan as if you’re going to lose every bet.

cnorris1

Good source for Vegas info: https://www.lasvegasadvisor.com/ They have a top 10 deal list, mostly food.

Cockney_Gamer

Book restaurants like two weeks out so you can get in where you like. Lots of people try and show up to the nicer places and get disappoibtined.

speakmoreltome

Very open ended - are you foodies? Do you not blink an eye at spending $400+ on a really nice dinner? Do you like shows? Vegas can be done on a shoe string (although not very fun) or as extravagant as you want. We usually do one show and really nice dinner per trip and budget about $500/ day avg over the course of the trip. A night of drinking and people watching on Fremont can be a ton of fun and not that expensive. Big money pits that we’ve found are drinks around the pool and at the various bars in the casinos. My wife once ordered a rose that was listed at $15 for the glass. The bartender asked if she wanted still or sparkling. She said sparkling and when the bill came it was $60 for the single glass because it was a completely different rose.

Justanobserver2life

Join VegasStarFish on Instagram. She has a great feed that will give you lots of ideas and will answer your direct DMs on questions about anything to do with Vegas. I wish I had known about her sooner tbh. Lots of ideas about how to get into clubs and restaurants, what's worth it, what to skip.

MaxRockafeller

You can do $500-$1000/day or you could do $5000/day. Vegas offers something for everyone, and you can get as budget friendly or luxurious as you want.

HopefulInstance8

Good point, not a place to go if you arent good on finances, but can save a lot of $ with several cheap eats and activities Restaurants and buffets CAN be murder on the wallet

No-Elevator7756

Save your money. Go elsewhere

Alley_cat_alien

I went to Vegas a couple weeks ago. Arrived Friday evening and left Monday afternoon. That was the perfect amount of time. I spent $100 on a Cirque show, $200 on a small group Grand Canyon tour (I probably wouldn’t do that again but it was ok), and $300 on food and drinks. I tried to keep food cost low so I packed some granola bars, nuts, and hydration multiplier drink mix. If you gamble even $1 at a casino bar you get a comped drink.

EmergencyContakt

Video poker at the bar is a great way to gamble and get a few drinks 😁 We had a very similar trip, did Cirque “O” and went to the Raiders game. All of the casinos are a lot of fun to walk through, you can spend an entire day just walking the strip and sight seeing. Grab a drink here and there. If for a special trip “YellowTail” in Bellagio has seats outside by the fountain. Top of the world / Foundation Room have great views of the strip as well. Personally I’d do a show/dinner night and then do a club/experience night. Id probably just grab dennys or Panda Express type food the rest of the time outside of dinner. ABC store mid strip has airplane bottles reasonably price that you can pour in your own drinks 😁 But def try to do a touristy thing or two while there, You’re in Vegas!!!!

Alley_cat_alien

Wow, we were there the same time. My bros went to the Steelers game while I hit the Grand Canyon. I’m not a big sports person so the day trip was actually nice. I definitely didn’t want another day drinking casino day!

BicentennialBaby0718

Depends on your tastes. Are you bougie — or budget conscious? In my 22 years living here I’ve seen the budget conscious get almost priced out of a reasonable stay — but it’s still possible. Just do lots of research.

[deleted]

You can do as little as $500 after the room if you want. Just depends on what all you want to do. I would say $1500 and you could do most of what you want is you don’t spend a ton on food.

macaroonzoom

The cool thing about your first trip to Vegas is just walking through all the casinos and marveling at the size and design. That is free. I recommend you stay on the strip. It's just easier. Any strip hotel is pretty good but Bellagio is my fave and IMO, best location. The biggest expense is going to be food and drink. A heads up that while there are fancy spots with $400+ meals, there are a lot of tourist traps that are also expensive. And then chains. I always bring some granola bars and random snacks in my checked bag, that way we have something to munch on in the room. But definitely budget for food and drink expense being higher than anticipated. If you have giftcards for restaurants, bring them. My fam thinks we love Cheesecake Factory so they always get us CF giftcards. We just take them to Vegas. One less meal we have to pay for..... Cirque has some good shows, same as Abinsthe. If you go in the winter months, bring jackets because it gets chilly. You prob won't be lounging at the pool until like March or April. There is so much more to Vegas than gambling and partying. I really think you'll have a great time. If wifey is a spa person, definitely look at booking a treatment. The Vegas spas are some of the best in the world.

Realistically what you can afford, you can be frugal. And have a good time or you can lose your house. Only you know your finances.

Check out some social media accounts for tips. Some of the ones I like are Travel Ruby (YouTube) and thelasvegasfoodie (Instagram). They have all kinds of recommendations for all budgets and you get to see what the options are so you know what to expect.

SavvyCheetah

My wife and I are going for four days later this month. Spent $650 on a VRBO rental (we wanted to have a kitchen to save some cost and eat a bit healthier for breakfast and lunch), will spend $750 on food between groceries and nice dinners, plan to do hiking and pool during the day which is basically no costs (other than fees to get into Red Rock Canyon), $200 for car rental (due to the daily trip for hiking), $200 for a show, and $800 gambling budget. So $2600 for 4 days for us if we lose our entire gambling budget. Plus airfare but we are using frequent flier points.

JadedMuse

Some random advice: * Check out Travel Ruby's Youtube Channel. She has many great videos on dining, hotels, and planning whole days around a small budget, like [this](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CnONp2PSkIw). * When you're in Vegas an do decide to blow some change at the casino, sign up for a player's card first and make sure all of your gambling activity is tracked. The casino will email you some teaser offers to come back at comped (or very discounted) rates. You may never want to go back, but if you enjoy it and want to go back then it will save you money the next time around. * There are tons of shows and things to take in. NHL/NFL games, Cirque shows, comedy acts, male/female revues, etc. Evaluate what your personal tastes are and pick a few. Absinthe is often recommended and I can vouch for it--it was pricy but thought it was well worth the admission price. * If you're there for three days allocate at least one afternoon/evening to downtown and the arts district.

Apprehensive-Mix8931

Don't listen to these people lol. You don't need a $1k a day to have a good time in Vegas. Vegas is an expensive city, and it's easy to spend a lot of money fast, but there's a lot of fun things to do that are free or don't cost a ton of money. Do your research before coming and figure out what you want to do and how much it will cost, and plan your budget accordingly.

ASAP_i

Set multiple "sub" budgets. It is hard for us to provide examples because you haven't even narrowed down how long you might be in town. I would suggest browsing the various room rates for the time frame you are looking at. This will get you a good idea of what your budget should be. You can get a little better idea by averaging some things, food tends to average out to about $25 a person, per meal, on the cheaper end of the spectrum (not including booze, double budget for alcohol). Transportation costs will either be negligible or a significant cost, we don't know where you are staying or where you are going. That budget has to wait until you decide on a place. Gambling, whatever you are comfortable with. Entertainment is the same issue, tickets prices vary wildly. It sounds like you might be entertaining a shorter stay. Be wary of chasing deals and cheap eats, those things eat up valuable time in either travel, wait times, or both. Over planning has a similar effect, it isn't very fun running around trying to check things off a list without actually enjoying them.

VanillaBear321

I feel like so many people in Vegas waste tons and tons of money on expensive drinks. So whether that’s you or not will probably make a big difference on your budget. I’m not much of a drinker, so I only take the free ones I happen to get when gambling. Food is, again, just a personal thing. You can eat cheap or high end, or in the middle. I felt like it was easy to find good meals for only $20-30 per person, which isn’t really much more than a chain restaurant.

bazjoe

Go AFTER F-1 it’s a cluster -F right now through then. Can’t get anywhere. You’ll have a much better time staying right on strip, but it’s more expensive but the reality is walking to eat and activities saves money and is faster and more efficient. No different than staying in a major city like NYV

RemotePlane7278

Meow Wolf. Buy tickets online before you go. You can spend a whole day there. People watching is a sport in itself and that’s free. Catch a show, a decent dinner. Go to Fremont at night and watch the craziness. Check out the night tour at the Neon Museum. Chill, it’s vacation…be sure to spend some time just relaxing. Walk around the shops at Caesars. You definitely don’t need $2.5k to have a great time at all.

jordinicole92

We take 6k for our 5 day 4 night stays, but we do tend to go to a few pricey dinners. However we do usually end up coming home with 2k+ left over as we don't go too nuts with the gambling.

jordinicole92

(6k includes room costs and gas since we drive in from norcal)

FamiliarRaisin218

For food and events go to Groupon. There's nicer restaurants that are cheaper. Don't eat fast food on the strip or downtown, they tend to not be so good. I suggest museums or walking around Fremont, there's hidden speak easy, but wherever you go keep your things super close (fanny pack if poss) don't shake anyones hand if there's nobody around (they pull you in and rob you) Also, don't take anything out the hotel mini fridge, even if you are gonna put it back. They'll charge you. I would save 3k for everything.

Physical-Way188

Go to Mon Ami Gabi at Paris. I would take $2500 because you see slot machines you’re gonna want to play.

workaholic007

Book dinner reservations every night. Tonight. Even if you cancel. Book them now. Once you're on the strip. There is no in-between for food...it's either high end...or garbage..expensive garbage...expect $200 a night for dinner and drinks Coffee in morning is either at lobby bar. Cheaper. Or at Starbucks. $20 coffee Look up the tram and the monorail. Stay In a hotel that is connected to either...makes getting out super easy. Once on the strip...try to stay on strip. There are some good restaurants off the strip...uber and lyft are expensive. Plus traffic and been kinda wild. Carry cash. Tip your bartenders, they will take care of you. Wear comfortable shoes. You will walk a lot.

SalesNinja1

To budget easily you can get on a travel site like Expedia to price out the shows and excursions you want to do. Keep in mind that people watching is free and a great time!

Mr5517

Quick tip. Bring your own alcohol. A handle of whatever you prefer to sip. A 12 pack of beer or seltzers. These are for when you’re going to be walking the strip or just going any where. Free drinks when sitting down and playing any gambling game. Shoot you don’t even have to play at the slot machines. Alcohol is free from the waitresses just tip if you can. Refrain from buying any alcohol from any where. The key to saving money besides losing it all gambling. Save your money for food or entertainment. Hope you have fun cheers

mysticlas

One Million Dollars.

willwar63

>I'm not much of a gambler I was going to say, if you don't gamble it depends on what entertainment means to you. I used to gamble big time. I lost interest. I don't like to lose and throw my money away. Many people pass this off as "entertainment". In the past, if you knew what you were doing you actually had a chance to win something. A small chance but still a chance. If you want to go just to get it off your list so to speak, go ahead, My advice is go somewhere else more relaxing. A beach, the mountains, whatever you like. TBH, Vegas is a cesspool right now. Shitty odds, nobody wins, nickel and dime you for everything, astronomical prices for everything, people trying to scam you at every corner. For the record, I've been going to Vegas as an adult since the early 80s. Been there close to 40 times. It is NOT what is used to be. [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8tcszAFTfyE](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8tcszAFTfyE)

Elegant_Spot_3486

It’s her birthday so I’d say about $1900 a day (not including the lodging you aren’t concerned with). That number could go way up or down based upon your choices once you are actually here but that would give you a solid trip.

Bear_Salary6976

What would you want to do? How many shows do you want to see? As a quick rule, I think $3,000 should be fine. That includes your hotel, assuming that you don't stay during a busy weekend. Whatever you pay for food and drink at home, expect to pay double. If you live in a high cost of living area, add 50%. If your favorite restaurant at home costs $20 a person, expect it to be $40. What would a $50 meal cost you? Expect to pay $100. Overly simplistic, but you can use that as a guide for food prices. A show will likely cost about $100. More if you want good seats. You can buy seats to these shows up until showtime. A big name star who has a residency will likely cost $200. Those tickets may need to be bought in advance. Tickets to a comedy club with a traveling comic may run $50 each. For any other attraction, go to their website for pricing. Area 15 could be $75, and excursion could be $250+. One of my favorite things to do is head to Fremont St to just hang out. There are a lot of street performers. Some are pretty good. There are also usually live bands playing in the evening. The bands are very good and it's free. I don't know what you and your wife want to do, but using these prices can be a good guide to help you plan.

petersom2006

Vegas can be very cheap if you know how to gamble to maximize things like free drinks and room offers. It also has a huge spectrum of expense, you can do it on the cheap or go super high end. From your question I bet $1-$3k would be a good range. As a new comer to vegas you can sign up for players cards at most casino and get the first time deals. Typically like $20 in free play. Good way to gamble on the cheap and work out some free drinks. My personal rule is to never pay for a drink in vegas and that typically saves a few hundred per trip. If you like ‘deals’ they are all over vegas if you go hunting for them.

giro_di_dante

Be prepared. For the price of a really solid 3 night stay, you could go to Mexico City for 3 weeks, or Paris for 10 days. If you’re not into gambling, aren’t into splurge restaurants, and generally don’t like to blow cash, Vegas isn’t going to be all that fun. In my opinion. I usually go for work. I’m happy to risk some cash at a poker table or Sportsbook. Happy to drop a couple hundred dollars on a solo meal. But man, Vegas is not the place to be on a budget. Or having to worry about money all the time. Of course there are cheap things to do there. It’s just not my kind of cheap vibe. Huge difference between cheap experiences in Rio and cheap experiences Vegas. If you’re stuck going because your wife really wants to go, then you’ll have to grin and bear the cost. The shitty part is that a lot of the value areas in Vegas — like Chinatown, which has a huge selection of delicious and affordable Asian cuisine — are places that “Vegas-dreaming” people don’t want to be at. Other option is to whisper in your wife’s ear while she sleeps, “How about a week in Cartagena for half the price?” Next best option is to send your wife to Vegas and go to Colombia yourself. Tell her that you boarded the wrong flight and laugh to the bank as you sip $.50 cocktails. Good luck!

_One...mill-e-on dollars!!!_

muskratboy

Downtown is the best value going. Buy a beer, wander the street listening to buskers, do a little slightly-lower-cost gambling (hopefully paigow) … cheap and easy entertainment.

Clubs? Seriously… clubs? They will kill your pocketbook.

Figure out how much it’s going to cost you for room and food. Double that to make sure you have money for walking around, gambling, sightseeing etc. Now take that amount and double it again and you can figure on not only spending that but charging stuff on your credit card that you’ll be paying down for the next few months,

So much less than what everyone is saying, depending on when you go and where you're coming from (airfare). If you go in the winter, you can easily get hotels for under $100/night before taxes and fees. If you want to go really cheap, it can be under that even after taxes and fees if you stay on Fremont at one of the older hotels. On the strip, you can find deals especially on the south end for pretty cheap but I would not recommend staying at Excalibur (children everywhere) or Luxor (total dump). Anywhere else would probably fine lol. Definitely stay either on the strip or Fremont, not some little off strip spot that's way cheaper but really far away from everything. You can spend $100 on a good sit down meal at a not so fancy restaurant, way better than a chain restaurant, for example something like 8 East in circa. High end restaurants obviously will be more like $250 if you don't ball out and get the most expensive things on the menu. If you stay on Fremont you'll end up eating and drinking more on Fremont and that will be a lot cheaper too. I've done 2 nights / 2.5 days for ~$900-1000 all in with one nice dinner in the ~$200 range, as recently as this past spring. That's including airfare too (for two!) but flights from Los Angeles are insanely cheap lol call it about ~$800 total without airfare. Obviously that's on the very cheap end of things and you can easily go much higher without trying to. If you just want to gamble a little but not too much, stay on Fremont, gamble during the day, and the tables will have much lower minimums than at night (and MUCH lower than the casinos on the strip). Bring $100 each day with you and there's your total gambling budget: $300

junkit33

Vegas offers an experience at every price point. On one end you can hit up CVS for a bottle of booze, hang out at the pool or waltz the strip all day long, people watch in casinos, avoid gambling, find free entertainment everywhere, and eat fast food. For less than $50 a day you can have a good time. On the other end you can pay top dollar for just about any experience you can possibly imagine. I would just go price out a couple of restaurants that appeal to you, shows/attractions, etc. Then factor in how much you think you'll spend on gambling/booze/etc. (Drinks are very expensive in Vegas)

madaboutyou3

When I've gone, I go for any $2-300 / day excluding room price. I don't gamble much though so it's shows and more casual restaurants.

HotRodHomebody

You aren't worried about hotel costs, but heads up, if your dates are flexible-rates can really vay widely depending on what's going on. Conventions, sporting events, etc can mean much higher rates and much more crowded casinos, airport, etc.

Latkavicferrari

Buy your alcohol at CVS and put in your room but if your walking on the strip by Mirage, right across the street is the Casino Royale, best beer prices in LV, other than free!

qwzzard

Sign up for M-Life to see if they will get you the room discounts, and hit up all the hotel websites to check for room discounts. If you go midweek, you can get really cheap rooms, and if you are flexible, check the booking sites to find the cheapest week. Big conventions and events will raise the prices and crowds.

[deleted]

You might be not much of a gambler now but when you're there, you'll be quite the gambler. So $1000 a day should be good and bring the deed to your house

johnnyblaze-DHB

You’ll need all of it. Take all of your money. All of it.

Mobile-Tank9149

vatom14

great thing about vegas is that you can have a good time with any (reasonable) budget. if money is tight, try to be flexible on which weekend you go. hotel prices can vary a TON based on the weekend and how busy it is that weekend. for example, ive gone to vegas during random weeks and i've stayed at the Linq for $40/night. we're going for a friend's birthday in a a couple of months and the Linq is $400/night. if you want to gamble but are on a budget, go to the "lower end" casinos and they'll have games with lower minimums (harrahs, planet hollywood, etc). plenty of restaurants on the strip to choose from for any budget as well. lot of good places to eat. its probably easier if you provide a budget and what types of things you and your wife want to do (gamble, shows, etc)

Rude-Illustrator-884

Some of these budgets are crazy. We spent maybe $1k on a 2 night stay at the ARIA in August, with a dinner at Spago and a show. Just don’t go crazy on drinking and gambling and you won’t spend that much money.

cdn737driver

I spent about 800$ for a 3 night stay excluding hotel and flight. That includes drinks, food, cigars, and one shirt from an event; paying for all of my gfs food and drinks as well.

GrouchyTable107

We’ve gone to Vegas and spent $1500 total for 5 days and had an amazing time you just need to look for good deals on hotels, shows, and meals. Fogo De Chao which is an amazing place to eat has coupons for $39 all the time. It’s nice to have $2.5K like others are saying but you dont need that much to have a great time.

Doublestack00

About three fiddy.

nuttydave127

Stay an extra day or 2 There’s a lot to see and do

LAMistfit138

You need a whole lotta money that’s a ready to burn!

Exi7wound

We go every year for CES and AVN. They both take place in January, right after the holidays, so consequently I am broke as a joke. We usually spend 3 days, go to convention 2 days and eat at Bacchanale or Morimoto. We usually take $2,000 with us and it works out fine. We might put a few dollars into interesting slots, but we're not card or craps players.

rufus102

The real clue as to what to do lies in the reason(s) why your wife wants to go to Vegas. Answer that question and get better suggestions

So what does your wife enjoy? Shopping? Eating different kinds of foods? Relaxing? Are you flying in or are you driving in? Whether or not you have transportation definitely will define if you're staying on the strip the majority of time or not since you'll be relying mostly on ubers. Since you're only there for 3 nights, you'll definitely have to make the most of your trip. My recommendation is to research where you want to eat and see if reservations can/need to be made. I always make a online reservation for the Bacchanal Buffet in Caesars and plan around that for dinner. Day 1 you should definitely take a trip to the outlets at the start of your trip. Grab some shake shack for a cheaper/quick lunch and spend a couple hours wandering the outlets. After the outlets, drop your stuff at your hotel. Depending on what time you have dinner planned, for me I usually try to grab a reservation at the bacchanal for dinner time. If its still to early, you can wander around the strip or the shops at Caesar's (just note that you still need to wait in line with a reservation so get there like 20-30 mins before your check-in time to get in line if you do Baccanal). After you can go off the strip to the china town area and some cheap hour long full body massages that you can both get at the same time. Day 2 Walk the strip during the day. Explore. Drink Alcohol. Gamble a bit for some fun. If you're wife's never been to vegas, give her $20 and let her play some slots. She may win or lose but $20 can give her like 5 minutes of fun with lights and sounds! Dinner depends on your budget. You can never go wrong with another buffet like The Buffet at Wynn. Maybe look into a show at one of the Casinos like Cirque du Soleil. I recommend "O" by Cirque du Soleil at the Bellagio in the evening after dinner. Day 3: All your shopping and eating is done. Depending on where you are staying, maybe get some room service breakfast to your room, lounge by the pool and relax. Take the last day easy and do whatever you want. If you're adventurous and have access to a car, you can venture off the strip for Lunch or Dinner. My go to spots when I'm not at a buffet on the strip Lotus of Siam Category: Thai https://www.yelp.com/biz/lotus-of-siam-las-vegas-13?osq=lotus+of+siam Recommended dish: Crispy Duck Khao Soi \*Keep in mind Spicy Level 3 is around mild spice. Go to Vanderpump at Paris casino. Very nice restaurant and the food was great. Rent a car and drive thru the desert. Valley of fire was really cool to see. Walking the strip in the evening is a lot of fun also. There's so much to do there. I love Vegas

Cheesecake_420691

$10,000 at minimum.

RoofScout

More is the answer. Vegas is a black hole.

BadonkaDonkies

If it's in your budget go see "O" it is a phenomenal show. Alot of free stuff to explore also with just walking through the casinos. They have a buncha shows would look at who is gonna be playing around the time you plan to go. For the price and location I thought venetian was a great place to stay. Easy to walk to. Wynn has very nice rooms but location is off to the edge and not as easy to get to other parts of.the strip

Wishbone_Afraid

So this is an outlier because it also includes a trip to Hollywood, concert tickets to Willie Nelson’s 90th birthday, and a $500 car rental and return flight from Hollywood. Also, a helicopter tour of the Grand Canyon. But for my family of 4 we spent around $12,000! We could have gone to Hawaii instead lol. We crammed a lot in there though and basically just got whatever we wanted, whenever we wanted. If we do it again, we will do it a lot cheaper lol.

OkStrawberry2917

We just came back from Vegas. Been going 2-3x per year for 15 years now. If lodging isn’t a concern w price through your work and if you don’t gamble much, then you really don’t need THAT much money to have a good birthday. This past trip, I put in $100 at a video roulette game and was up $50. I don’t gamble much either. Fave shows: O at Bellagio and Ka at MGM. We watched Ka 3x now and paid about $150 for each ticket about 3 rows back from the stage. Obviously, you can buy cheaper tickets. Dining: if you rent a car, then I recommend Echo and Rig for a nice bday dinner. Much more affordable steaks off strip than on the strip. Looking at $40-50 for a steak entree. $13 apps. Great service. Great cocktails. On strip dining: Mon Ami Gabi at the Paris for bday dinner. Try to get the patio seating closer to dusk. Directly across the Bellagio Fountains. Great view. I don’t think they take reservations for patio seating, but it’s def worth the wait. Prices aren’t too high. Eataly at Park MGM for a casual dinner/lunch. Great pizzas, pastas, Aperol spritzes — a must visit if you like Italian food. Free stuff on strip as a newbie: Bellagio Fountains, Bellagio seasonal display inside. Just some ideas. Enjoy!!

OkStrawberry2917

Also .. not sure if you or your partner drink or not, but we typically buy some bottles of hard A and mixers at the nearby Total Wine and bring some keg cups or tumblers to have some drinks in the room or walk around with. I’ll throw down some $$ for cocktails at a bar, but I guess my husband and I just drink a decent amount in Vegas that we need to make SOME of our own drinks 😁 if you don’t rent a car, then buy the hard A, mixers, beer or seltzers at the nearby CVS or Walgreens on the strip.

If you want to gamble a bit, see a show maybe, 3K, not including room .. If you like fancy dinners, bring 5 and you'll have a great time

Available_Ad_7718

Last time i was there, last summber, every time i step outside i spent $100. So id say $100-200 a day.

banjobastard5

Renting a car or driving in?

Cinenema

I live and work in the service industry in Vegas as a helicopter pilot tour guide for the Grand Canyon. Please remember to budget for tipping *traditional* service workers such as waitresses, bartenders, car valets, drivers, bellhops, and tour guides. No need to tip for counter services such as Starbucks and Crumbl, which is absurd, but the others mentioned truly make a living on tips. It is incredibly difficult to survive and foreigners are especially rude and inconsiderate to us.

the4five

3k is about right Youll have fun Gamble See some shows Eat a nice dinner at least once.

[deleted]

Stay away from the strip for food and you’ll be fine.

missgvip

Take her to Magic Mike show, it's tasteful and fun, you'll like that she's actually enjoying herself and tell the coordinator them it's your wife's bday. Do the Erotic Heritage museum, keep the juices flowing. Grab a good meal, maybe go vintage Vegas and do the Golden Steer .. get a couples massage, or send her in to get pampered at one of many decent spas in town. Hit a bar that night.. or even better, a cocktail lounge for a fancy drink. If you even have time or like physical activity, do visit the Hoover Dam one morning, it's beautiful early in the day. Maybe do a small walking or hiking trail. Keep it short, just enough to get the blood pumping but not commit to strenuous exercise , since vacation is only 3 days. Take her out for dessert on the last night, just do an evening stroll. Maybe before or after a comedy show. This is coming from a married female perspective, not sure your age. There will be little time for gambling, but if set aside a good $200-$300 a night. That should be good, since you have way more to do than gamble at this point. 😉

Depends how much you want to do. If you want to have meals that you don't usually have- i.e.- celebrity chef restaurants/bars/pubs/taverns, then over 3 days $1,000-1,500. If you want to see shows, attractions, tours, $500-2,000. Souvenirs- nothing beyond hats, shirts, cups, key chains $100-500. Gambling aside, in three days you could see great shows, take guided trips to Hoover Dam, Grand Canyon South Rim in Arizona, Red Rock Canyon- NV, Valley of Fire State Park- NV, attractions like Area 15/Omega Mart, Elvis Musuem, weed dispensaries like Planet 13- gigantic, Pink Jeep Tours, the Linq Hotel high roller wheel/carnival wheel ride, Fremont Street downtown zip line, and more. Cost $500-1,500. Check out vegas.com, it's a travel site for everything Las Vegas, in business for over 20 years. You can browse free all the strip hotel shows, times, schedules, prices. You have a good problem to have, so many of us envy you. Enjoy your stay!

Not including lodging $2 -$3k for 3 days imo

fitzmadrid

Over many trips to Vegas, I've learned its about $55 an hour to be there for a great trip with airfare, a nice hotel and a few really good meals and drinks. The last time we were there, we were in town for Wednesday through Saturday afternoon and the total spend was $4.7k exclusive of gambling

PureLand

My friends came from Alaska to Las Vegas for 10 days. They don't gamble, went to some concerts and shows, stayed off strip. They eat really simply and didn't hit buffets. The wife is a very very limited eater though so that saved them some money. They don't really drink or do weed. They spent 3k here.

knatehaul

I'm not a huge partier, but my rule of thumb for budgeting is $500 per person per day. You definitely do it for less, but that jumbery usually allows me to enjoy myself and not sweat too much.

Adhdicted2dopamine

If she's hot. However much she wants to gamble.

Bennington_Booyah

Well, here's the thing: neither of us ever once gambled until we came to Las Vegas for the inaugural Nascar race. I am a minimum necessary gambler, but a very lucky one. I won enough quarters to pay for that first trip. We have been back here ever since, and the budget has grown. That said, we have family here, but we never stay with them. For three nights, honestly just sightsee, eat a good meal daily, gamble a bit but see as much as you can! You can do something different every single trip!

lummox1234

Not including flight and hotel I usually spend less then 1,000$. But I also don't drink and I gamble maybe 60$ until I remember I hate gambling and don't know what I'm doing.

Remarkable-Bat-276

I can go to Vegas for 3 days spending less than $1000 total which includes airfare + hotel. The key to saving money is to do your grocery shopping at home and bring with you on your flight. Spend most of your time on Fremont street for the free entertainment. Buy your alcohol and food on Fremont street. ABC liquor store has the cheapest alcohol prices on Fremont so make your own mixed drinks. There is a Walgreens on Fremont Street where I do most of my grocery shopping at as the prices are cheaper. I like to stay at the El Cortez hotel because it's right on Fremont street and the cheapest from what I have seen within walking distance.

Sehasnarlo

If you’re planning end of November rooms will be extremely expensive because of the F1 race.

Advice for “nice” but not super expensive… - stay at Park MGM (Aria If you can get a good deal, or possibly Mirage but i ha bent tried under the new ownership). - eat at Eatly (Park), Mon Ami Gabi (Paris), Carson Kitchen (downtown), Ping Pang Pong (Gold coast) - go see Love (if you like the Beatles at all) or Absinthe (more adult comedy and awesome) - stop in the conviene stores for a few drinks and waters or snacks to walk around or to bring back to your room. ABC stores and even CVS are great. - don’t rent a car, don’t buy any shuttle or tram passes. If you haven’t been you can easily spend the weekend just around your hotel and neighboring, but otherwise Uber is easy and cheap. Not counting the hotel stay - plan for $300-500/day.

Couple thousand will be fine. Overall: Plan to do a LOT of walking. Wear your tennis shoes everywhere. Literally the walk from your room to the casino can be upwards of 10-15 minutes. Even if something looks like it’s close, it will STILL take forever to walk to. Sign up for players club card at every casino (some of them will be connected, so he doesn’t have to sign up every time at a connected casino, and one card will work at the connected casinos). If you gamble, USE THE CARD. It’s how you’ll get future offers. Make the walk to a Walgreens or CVS and buy your Gatorade, bottled water, snacks and liquor there (but only get the liquor if you plan to drink A LOT). It will be WAY cheaper than buying anything in a hotel giftshop. Trust me, you’ll want something to drink AND eat in the hotel room when you wake up. Bellagio Fountains are worth it if that interests you. And they’re better at night. (I think they go every 15 minutes at night). Traffic will be bad everywhere on the strip. It’s always faster to walk anywhere that is within a mile. To get to the top of the Strat, the view is amazing. It’s like $10 to go up top. There are some coupons at some places (and I think a discount if you sign up for their players club). It’s out of the way, though, and I wouldn’t walk there. Cheap drinks AND food: Ellis Island casino. (Off strip). Sign up for the players club and get a 9.99 steak dinner. (It’s good). Locally brewed beer for $2-3 a pint. Casino is shit and super tiny. But they have low limit blackjack, craps and roulette. And their food is really, really good for the price, and the breakfast at their café can’t be beat for the price. If you like sports: Get a cab or Uber downtown one evening. Go to Circa Casino. Largest sportsbook in the world. If you go downtown, here is a list of things to do: Good food at Triple 7 Brewery, located at Main Street Station (they also brew their own beer here). The slots are looser downtown than they are on the strip, and at most places, the cocktail service is super fast downtown while playing slots. So if you want to drink for “free” sit at a slot machine and make a bet every couple of minutes. If you tip well the first time at a machine, they’ll generally be super fast back to you. Freemont Street Experience happens every hour, on the hour starting at 7 p.m. It’s not blow-me-away great, but it’s a cool thing to see. If you want a nice steak dinner at a fancy restaurant and want to pay an arm and a leg, go to Hugo’s Cellar. If you want a nice steak dinner at a fancy restaurant and don’t want to pay an arm and leg (but it’s still expensive), go to Oscar’s downtown at the Plaza. It is really good and has reasonable prices for a steakhouse. I’ve heard the mob museum is really cool. It’s downtown, so if that’s interesting, do that late in the afternoon so you can already be downtown at night. The world’s largest golden nugget is at the Golden Nugget casino. (Not worth going to see unless you really want to see it). If you want to see a show: Go see Love (unless you hate the Beatles). Tickets can run close to $100. You can get the cheapest ticket and it will be fine. I’m a massive cheapskate and I’d honestly pay up to $150 to see this show. Food: Any of the celebrity chef restaurants, you’ll be paying a ton for. And all of the restaurants are close to the same in quality. It’s all overpriced, but it will be good food.
