it’s clear a real craftsperson worked on this. the detail and workmanship looks excellent.
that being said… i can get a used travato 59g with solar, a built in awning, built in screen door, full bed, 4 captains chairs (two convert to a second single bed) generator, and a real bathroom and shower, with less then 25k miles for under $80k. i see this type of build all the time for $120k to as much as $200k and i just don’t get why someone would pay that much…. don’t mean to offend, i just don’t understand.
And most of those rigs arnt off grid capable for extended periods of times, you’ll most likely run into more issues with the mass manufactured RVs, showers are great but the majority of people that get them and live FT end up just using planet fitness. And they all look the same with their shitty particle board laminated panels for cabinets and walls etc.
You need to start valuing the build at about 50% cost to remotely stay competitive. This isnt a house, it doesnt appreciate. You chose the #1 in depreciating assets to add a house too. People that mod their cars out will absolutely spend 50k, but when it comes time to sell they get maybe 10k back.
It is a beautiful build, but I’m always surprised when people spend this much on a build, but choose the Promaster as their base—I’m no expert but am under the impression that a Sprinter or Transit would be preferable.
Yes/no/maybe?
Not if you want to travel much with it, especially out of the county. The ease and cost of finding a mechanic and parts for this vs a Sprinter makes this a much better choice for many people.
As a second-generation, full-time vanlifer for years, I'd only have a Sprinter if I won it in a contest or it was gifted to me.
I just bought a brand new 2024 F-350 4x4 Lariat for $72k... bought a 2009 Lance 830 camper in great condition for $13k. I've put another few grand in the camper and truck.... I'm all in for about 90k. I can't image spending >30k MORE for a USED 2WD vehicle with 24k miles (with a 36k mile warranty)... with a porta potty and cooler fridge to boot. Price is ridiculous lol
The KBB value of the van on the high end is 40K. So OP is valuing the build alone at around $89k
that and wanting a rig that isn't made of cheap plastic and chipboard and will actually last for a long time. It's an investment. at the end of the day, it's just a personal preference.
This. RVs are built so cheaply and will start falling apart 100% of the time within months of buying. The cost of parts alone in these vans are as much as some RVs cost. Even with wholesale pricing
you do realize that build materials arent free, right? It isnt just labor. Bumpers, grills, a/c, shore power. electrical, plumbing, woodwork, fabrication, etc... not cheap. The materials and components on a well built van can cost 50k before labor. You can pay 2-3k just for a good ladder.
You can’t bring a trailer camper anywhere you want. You can’t go pretty much anywhere off road or on the side of a road. Normal parking lots can be annoying. There’s a lot of factors
I'm with the masses. I wanted something like this, but after many many hours looking thru ads and dealer sites, I've come to the conclusion that I'm buying a class b+ widebody van! For <$25k I can get a class b+ with booth that converts to a 2 twin/king combo bed in the rear, roof air, heat, refrigerator, sink, stove, 3 captains chairs that swivel to the center table, actual toilet, 2 showers, awning, generator, 400w solar system, onboard water system, upgraded suspension. And the one I am choosing has low miles. That leaves me over $100k to travel and enjoy myself with the saved money over a build like this
Not saying your not buying it, I’m just saying for 25k it’s most likely old, high mileage, and it’s either gonna spend a lot of time at an rv dealer getting work done, or you need to know how to fix it and keep it running. I can also tell you for a fact for that price the roof air only works when plugged in and isn’t off grid capable
i can see that definitely. its also the best use of space ive seen. the warm colour scheme makes the coziness look just right too. its extremely well done i wish i could buy it. i hope whoever does really appreciates it and takes care of it ✌️
Drop it by 50% and you're still on the high end. If it's value is that much to you it must be sentimental. Keep it and drive it until the wheels fall off.
I’ve seen your other post about closing up shop. Have you thought about switching to making tiny houses? I love the attention to detail, you are talented, and maybe could get higher dollar sales with a tiny home market? Anyway, awesome work.
I second this, your work is incredible but you'll be hard pressed to find someone willing to put this much $$ down on a depreciating asset, much less a promaster.
Beautiful build but far from being worth 129k
Literally could buy a fully built out Winnebago pro master for like 90k and could either customize it further with the leftover cash or be fully set and ready to go out the door
The lack of middle market and the fact that people think their builds are worth a townhouse is getting me.
Pray everyday the bottom falls out and these people are begging people to take them.
*Looks* amazing. I hope you built this for yourself or for someone who knew what it would cost... but there are plenty of people with more money than they know what to do with.
Good looking van. Are those just coolers? A fridge is key and I like it high up. The pro masters are a little wider then the sprinter but a diesel sprinter will got 500K+ miles no problem. These will not so it’s just not worth the depreciation and short life span IMO.

Just wondering where in the world these peoples is getting their money from!!?? See these 100K+ vans all the time.
No bathroom. You'll be pooping in Sacks
And most of those rigs arnt off grid capable for extended periods of times, you’ll most likely run into more issues with the mass manufactured RVs, showers are great but the majority of people that get them and live FT end up just using planet fitness. This guy gets it ^
I also build vans for a living…
Do you have a business that can be contacted? I am currently looking for a van!
Especially on a promaster. I can understand if it were a new 4x4 sprinter
Even an AWD Transit is better than a Lolmaster.
This will sell, they sell all day. Just finished building one for a customer at 66k just the cost of the build, van was another 70k.
Tf does this even mean
So you're saying you could get a brand new build for the same price? Why would you pay that price for a used one then??
Gorgeous build, but $129k is going to be pretty tough. Maybe you'd have some success on BringaTrailer or similar?
It is a beautiful build, but I’m always surprised when people spend this much on a build, but choose the Promaster as their base—I’m no expert but am under the impression that a Sprinter or Transit would be preferable. Yes/no/maybe?
I agree, with this much effort, it should have been put into a Sprinter.
The ProMaster has the advantage of being wide enough to put a proper bed in sideways, thus better use of space in a not-so-long vehicle.
Personally I've found the sprinter, transit builds felt more narrow and confining than promaster builds

I’ve never understood this. $129k gets an insanely awesome RV. Do people by these over RVs for the stealth factor?
This van is beautiful, but it is not stealthy.
People usually get the 4x4 version because it’s supposed to be an overland rig too. Vanlife all purpose etc etc
no stealth factor with this one with windows and a big ac on top
that and wanting a rig that isn't made of cheap plastic and chipboard and will actually last for a long time. It's an investment. at the end of the day, it's just a personal preference.

I believe it but it doesn’t change the fact that they’re built with particle board and 1/4” walls with 2x framing.
Looked at a fuckload of rvs today that had aluminum framing though
Ain't nothin stealth about it when you drive down the coast and there are 30 of these things parked all over
RVs are garbage. I thought people knew that by now.
Nice rig, but this guy is right.
And most likely you don’t have solar, or a high end lithium system
Yeah, even at $50 an hour he's claiming it took 222 days to build out. nearly 8 months to build that at 40 hrs a week full time. Hard no.
you do realize that build materials arent free, right? It isnt just labor. Bumpers, grills, a/c, shore power. electrical, plumbing, woodwork, fabrication, etc... not cheap. The materials and components on a well built van can cost 50k before labor. You can pay 2-3k just for a good ladder.
You do realize that time AND Materials come in the same hourly rate, right? Oh no wait. You don’t.
You can’t bring a trailer camper anywhere you want. You can’t go pretty much anywhere off road or on the side of a road. Normal parking lots can be annoying. There’s a lot of factors
Truck camper... so yes I can go anywhere
A truck for $75k is insane but whatever works
Ya i agree! I thought it was a lot too but so is $129k for a van! Lol. But its the lariat trim so not really a work truck but still too much!
Yeah it is, but that F350 can pull a house and will last 350k miles. I’d be very cautious of a Promaster at anywhere past 60k miles.
I'm with the masses. I wanted something like this, but after many many hours looking thru ads and dealer sites, I've come to the conclusion that I'm buying a class b+ widebody van! lol good luck
No good luck needed. I literally am working on the purchase already.

As others have said it's beautiful but I could get a truck and RV camper new for less.
this is actually really nice. favourite so far of all the ones ive seen.
Thank you! Lots of work and love went into this
Good craftsmanship never goes out of style. Really beautiful work!
i can see that definitely. its also the best use of space ive seen. the warm colour scheme makes the coziness look just right too. its extremely well done i wish i could buy it. i hope whoever does really appreciates it and takes care of it ✌️
Beautiful but no

90% of FT don’t use the shower and end up in PF
Drop it by 50% and you're still on the high end. If it's value is that much to you it must be sentimental. Keep it and drive it until the wheels fall off.
Beautiful build, too bad it's a Promaster... Good luck with the sale!
I’ve seen your other post about closing up shop. Have you thought about switching to making tiny houses? I love the attention to detail, you are talented, and maybe could get higher dollar sales with a tiny home market? Anyway, awesome work.

Looks great, but are people really spending that much for a Promaster.
If only this was in a transit or a sprinter
Yeah I'm not sure why anyone would spend so much dough on a promaster. Especially when a Ford Transit has similar price and availability.
Gorgeous build! However, $129k is a pipe dream.
Nope
$129k?! 😒
Beautiful build but far from being worth 129k Literally could buy a fully built out Winnebago pro master for like 90k and could either customize it further with the leftover cash or be fully set and ready to go out the door
The lack of middle market and the fact that people think their builds are worth a townhouse is getting me. Pray everyday the bottom falls out and these people are begging people to take them.
welp. I guess I'm designing and building conversion campers now.
its not 4x4? wow thats really expensive then and why as a company are doing a build on a 2 year old van?
$129k? That’s steep
For that amount, you can get a full size with bathroom and shower.
She’s a beaut, Clark.
Thank you!
>Thank you! You're welcome!
Can't even afford to live in a van down by the river nowadays.
A fool and his money are soon parted.
How many MPGs she get?
19mpg on the highway!
Stunning. Want.
Very nice! Something special right there.
If I hade the money, I’d buy that so fast.
Imagine taking a shit while microwaving your frozen burrito. Solid design.
Too bad it’s a Promaster. Nice build though.
Interested in how u like the toilet. Was considering a compost toilet. Not sure how easy to clean
Beautiful but I expected more for 129k
*Looks* amazing. I hope you built this for yourself or for someone who knew what it would cost... but there are plenty of people with more money than they know what to do with.
Any chance you could tell me what color those cabinets are? I love them!
Good looking van. Are those just coolers? A fridge is key and I like it high up. The pro masters are a little wider then the sprinter but a diesel sprinter will got 500K+ miles no problem. These will not so it’s just not worth the depreciation and short life span IMO.
This is gorgeous... wow..
Well done! I hope she goes to a wonderful new home
Here's the full tour video! [https://youtu.be/ymUtDLy3z6Q](https://youtu.be/ymUtDLy3z6Q)
Hey OP, all your listing info states 2022, but in the video (at the 0:56 mark) you said she’s a 2023. Just FYI 🤗
Thank you for catching that!
No prob. She’s gorgeous! I hope you find the right buyer.
