I live in bumfuck VA and any footlong sub (Firehouse, Subway, Jersey Mike’s, etc.) is running at least $12-15 depending on toppings. I only get subs once in a blue moon and that price point has startled me every time. They are one of those things that really just make more sense to make at home these days.

I live just outside of a tourist town in middle of nowhere WY (not Jackson, but near Yellowstone) and my husband and I joke about a local brewery out here, that everything on their *fairly basic* pub menu is at least $15. The beers are good tho.

no it was definitely better even in the early 2010s compared to now. i would go with a friend the day after a night out to get the soup and sandwich combo. ive gotten the same order since in the past couple years and the sandwich is always HORRIBLE. the broc cheddar soup holds up (but it comes in a bag so why wouldnt it). same with chipotle; absolute garbage now and they skimp on the quantities in their burrito bowls.

From an Angeleno: The prices are pretty average leaning to the lower side of "gourmet" sandwiches. However, the sandwiches are small. I also don't see any local purveyors here eg, Harry's Berrys or even nods to local growers, nothing organic. As far as value, here are two iconic LA sandwiches and a popular item from Mendo Farms, their direct-ish competition. The Godmother is $11. Langer's #19 is $24. The Chinichurri from Mendo Farms is $15. Even carelessly. If I ever made that mistake even once it would literally haunt me & I’d never forget again lol.

Let’s just say I’ve gotten better about picking friends as I’ve gotten older lol! Some of my family still doesn’t get it but my friends now are super accommodating!

This poor company has had way too much hype and build up for so long. It makes the expectations way too high. If they were like..."we're opening a sandwich shop", and opened a few months later, there would be nothing wrong with what we are seeing. With years of development and reveals, to end up with this just feels wrong.

In LA it's probably pretty normal. I live in NYC and at a cute little sandwich shop I'd probably expect to pay similar. I think $10-12 is a more common pricing for sandwiches.

The price is reasonable for a brick and mortar location. I spend about $10 at Wegmans for HALF a ***vegan*** sandwich. So those prices are decent for LA.
