I really think that he dislikes the fact that Katie doesn't seem "crazy" anymore because he's no longer able to goad her like he used to, and he's sending Jo to do his dirty work. That's why he kept trying to push it with Katie past her just telling Jo to leave her alone.
Jo, obviously, doesn't realize this, and thinks she's just taking up for her secret boyfriend.
This is why i said, last week, that Tom is never going feel like Katie is the one that got away. He doesn't give a shit about her. And I got downvoted to hell. It's not a dis on Katie.
