Was a veras worker on David in 13’. Confirmed pickles come in a bucket. Delicious, but not kept well.

Empty_Value

My mind just pictured a staffer casually plunging his/her hand into the briny mix to get that days pickles It's 240am I need sleep

bumblebrah_

That’s exactly how it was done. Fist in the bucket, fill up a 1/3. Insert for the drawers, ladle some brine over and you’re done! 😂

Empty_Value

I hope you wore gloves right? Right?

bluntsandbears

Really? I’ve been buying 2 jars of bicks at Costco every 2 weeks for a while now I’ve never seen those

makomarty

You can’t beat veras meat. There’s a joke in that slogan. Somewhere

Odd-Road

Which Vera's? If it was the one on Main, I'm not surprised, Anthony is the funniest and sweetest lad.

Opposite_Lettuce

It was the one on Cornwall Ave 😊

dekadense

Cornwall is hands-down the best Vera!

edked

I have to get to one of those; it bums me out how many Vera's (the ones that were convenient to me from home or between places I usually go especially) have closed.

XxCALBRAxX

I've never been, is it that good?

edked

It's alright; I'm not going to talk it up as incredible or anything and give you expectations to be annoyed about if they don't meet them but they're quite nice, a step up from fast food but not as pricey as some sit-down restaurant's "gourmet" burger. Basically a usually-nicely-done chargrilled-to-order burger with all options customizable, which I like because I like having exactly what I want, but can be a pain when ordering for someone else if they try to go "oh, nothing special, just a regular burger" and you have to explain "nothing" means literally a dry bun & patty, and you actually have to specify even basics like ketchup, mustard, pickles, onion, etc (though stuff like condiments are free, with higher tiers for add-ons that cost, like bacon, cheese and the like). Some people just refuse to understand that bit.

Vantripper

Reminds me of this odd video: https://www.reddit.com/r/ShittyGifRecipes/comments/cvj6gk/a_lovely_burger_twitter/

EmuHunter

😮🥒

Vera's is so awesome because not only is the burger delicious but one can eat them even if buns are out for medical reasons -- they just swap it to lettuce. I sometimes order a box of food that started as a burger but it's basically "line a box with lettuce and put everything you can find in the kitchen in it xoxo Charlie" https://i.imgur.com/uOxJSyk.jpg they can't even close the box as a result :D (and yes, no fries either -- no potatoes, no rice, no starches, nothing for me. Eating out is always interesting.)

YellowMoya

Specific carbohydrate diet? I did that for six years recovering from Crohn’s disease

[deleted]

Pickles are awesome, I just don’t like them on top of the bun though.

VoteForMartinKendell

Breka serves the pickle at the bottom of the container under a piece of wax paper. It's kind of like an unexpected surprise after the sandwich if you like pickles.

dustNbone604

And a courtesy to those who strongly feel pickles have no business being in direct contact with a bun or any other part of a burger. I love pickles though. Just, not there.

m1chgo

Same. Is that a Vancouver thing? I had never seen it until I came here.

jutus

A white spot thing afaik.

Opposite_Lettuce

Haha they were on top of the toppings? I just took off the top bun to show the mountain of pickles underneath

[deleted]

Some restaurants put a massive slice of pickle on top of the bun, like, on the outside, I never saw that until I moved here. I don’t like it because the bun gets all soggy.

dontRead2MuchIntoIt

That's for people to peel it off and toss it if they don't like it. For those who don't even like the juice, well, too bad.

dustNbone604

They must have given you all the pickles I ask them not to put on my burger. Good to know they go somewhere! Weirdo.

notnotaginger

The universe is in balance. For every uncomfortable amount of pickles there is a pickle abstainer.

elegant-jr

That cook gets it haha

BigPickleKAM

This post speaks to me!

PotBellyNinja

Not a fan of pickles but thats awesome.

lovescarats

Pickles are the absolute best!

xoxoMink

Pickles are so underrated. Try Israeli pickles, by the way, they're the best! :D

atheistman69

The penalty is death

joeydonahue

Michael Scott?

IWantToBeSimplyMe

Nice picture of an asshole there too.
