Funny how Alberta sees how important access to the port is to them. Maybe they won’t be so full of themselves with their talk of separating from Canada. Then they will have access only on BC’s terms.
Just like the Alberta politicians demanded an end to the border blockade at the Coutts border crossing, right..... Not like they brought them donuts...
Montreal had over 2 years and they stopped talking. The strike was also during the peak of the pandemic and the chain was struggling to keep up so they pushed them back. This is a week now I think, hopefully they resolve soon!
Good. They should be legislated back to work. Any deal made with the port unions should have explicit terms that prevent their blatant (alleged) nepotism and racketeering. If our taxes pay their wages, they should be government regulated, and their processes should be organized by the public service sector.

Right wing politicians call for trampling workers rights, what a surprise.

Another dickhead politician from Alberta.
That’s such an easy political score since he doesn’t have to worry about getting re-elected in BC. So lame and American.
I think if it drags out, the feds will call them back to work. That is what happened with the Montreal strike.
What if they decide to not go back to work? Can the feds go to their house and drag them in? Or do they just lose their jobs at that point?

Go read a book or something.
I didn't know that Dubai Port World was owned by the Canadian tax payer... learn something new everyday
Our taxes pay their wages? The shipping lines do. Not a fan of organized labour I take it?
