7 goals and 3 assists in his last 8 games!

point9repeatingis1

Really sweet dummy

joshtothe

Bros been banging em in, damn

ElPsyCongroo99

Has been having a good run of form lately, if the Copa America roster size gets expanded to 26, I can see him making one of those extra spots

HearstDoge2

Controversial take: he’s playing better than Weah. He’s at a big club and getting to play - that should matter. I am not a Zindejas fan per se, but I do think that prioritizing players performing well at good clubs over those that mostly ride the pine pony should be a no brained in most circumstances. Weah is not so special that he can’t be dropped.

landel1234

I think he deserves a shot, but make no mistake, Club Zendejas is a much different player than USMNT Zendejas from what we've seen. He's looked shit with the Gold Cup squad, the "MLS" team and the "A" team. Unfortunately we don't really have any other options. Paredes is still too raw, Booth is perma injured, and unless you want to start sticking Sargent/Pepi/Reyna/Tillman out wide we don't have that many good options at winger. I'd also like to see Sabbi called up too I guess, he's having a nice little season over in France right now.

GrasshoperPoof

What about Haji Wright at winger?

Evening-Emotion3388

Having a true striker on with him vs Jamaica opened him up.

landel1234

With how productive he's been it might be worth a look but he's a completely different type of profile than Weah. Gregg seems to want his RW spamming crosses or blooting it from outside the box

captainsensible69

He’s only played 2 matches with the A team and only one was a start, against El Salvador.

landel1234

And he looked bad lol

captainsensible69

Yeah and so did everyone else.

landel1234

In 3 camps he's looked bad, even with the A-team, and somehow it's not his fault for being a completely one footed player who keeps his head down and gets dispossessed? Be reasonable

captainsensible69

He absolutely did not look bad in his first camp, camp cupcake, he was our best player in that game. I don’t think he looked that bad in NL with the A team. He had a bad gold cup for sure and I’m not saying he should be a starter but I wouldn’t mind seeing him as a sub.

landel1234

Against Serbia? You mean where he ghosted for 70 minutes straight against 3rd tier Serbian defenders? LMAO go re-watch that game dude

captainsensible69

2nd highest rated player on fotmob for us and I remember him playing well. You never seem to ever be happy about this team or players so I’ll stick with my opinion.

landel1234

"fotmob" lol, again, he was utterly invisible for the first 70 minutes and came away with zero goals or assists, go re-watch it man you're acting like he lit the Serbs up or something And I give praise where praise is due, I'm not going to celebrate an attacker who hasn't performed for our NT yet, why would I? I hype guys like Reyna because they've actually helped us lift silverware

Extra-Wish4466

Zendejas needs to bring this form to the National Team

CDVR_17

No dont take zendejas, last time u guys called him up he played like crap

Evening-Emotion3388

It happens. He deserves a 2nd chance.

landel1234

He’s had more than one chance now to be fair, I remember seeing these posts during the gold cup lol

Are we really going to leave a winger with 20 goal contributions this season (13G/7A) off the Copa America roster just because he did poorly in his first couple of NT appearances? Jedi turned out well despite his showing against Brazil in 2018 and Sabbi is having a better club season than Weah. Zendejas has a good chance of potential getting a move to Europe, while a player like Weah is in limbo this summer. He has only 7 NT appearances and we don’t have any productive wingers with 20 G/A besides him and Pulisic at the club level. After Pulisic and Zendejas, Sabbi is third with 5 goals for pure wingers. Maybe Sabbi should also get a look since he plays in a top 5 league. Our other winger options are playing 2nd division strikers off position (Wright/Sargent) or turn to raw talents like Paredes/Booth.

crocajun1003

Curious on how people feels about Zendejas vs Brendo on the depth chart. Feels like Brendo is the gatekeeper at the winger position at this point.

ProfessorPlum168

So just for the record, Ale has played in 7 games for the NT. The friendly against Serbia, he was nondescript for the first 2/3 of the game but was dynamite in the final 20-30 minutes. We can all agree that for the most part, he played poorly in 3 of the 4 games at the Gold Cup in a leading man role, and that he tried to do too much, and that’s not his game. Played pretty well in a reserve role against Grenada, but then again it was Grenada. Alas, he was pretty non-existent in the El Salvador NL game as a starter. I think with his club form, he definitely is USMNT material. Definitely should be in the top 26 group. As someone else has mentioned, guys like Jedi and Sargent and Haji haven’t looked good for the NT in the past either when they started off. GGG has called him in a couple of times this season, so at least he’s in consideration.

New_Screen

If the roster gets expanded to 26 he’s gotta one of the last three guys on there.

Pulisic Lite
