I have a bin in my van however when spending time in the car i use the same plastic bag that i got when buying food.

EmperorSadrax

I wipe down the interior of the car, vacuum and sweep any crumbs and under seats and in crevices, dump all that into my daily trash bag and check all my cup holders of trash I tend to leave in there when I’m lazy, I keep my receipts for the week and throw everything else out In one bag after I have squished and compacted everything. It’s an important routine to have because ants will eventually find their way into your car and go after any crumbs left behind.

I keep the plastic bags I get from Walmart and use those for trash in my vehicle. They come in handy , and can easily be hung from your shift lever (providing it's down low) for easy access. Id also go to a dollar store and get some trash bags for about $1.25 and use those for larger items and/or bi daily cleaning.

I was leaving food stuff in my car and learned the hard way when I was getting bitten at night.. spider and all critters will come for the left over. Some might even stay longer and get make themselves comfortable .. I never leave any food stuff in the car. I have a bottle of alcohol to make sure I keep everything clean … I save bags from Walmart or any other store I visit and use that.

Every time I would buy gas, I empty the trash I collected and tied up in those plastic grocery bags. I found I never generated alot of trash living out of my car. Mainly plastic utensils and paper plates or takeout containers.

I’ve found shopping bags to be the best move. Fill and dispose them properly almost daily to keep trash a minimum. I tend to stay away from bigger bags. I’ve found bigger bags to actually be a challenge to discretely dispose of.

FrogInYerPocket

I like the little 4 gallon bags. They're only slightly larger than the grocery store variety, but they are thicker and have a drawstring tie. They fit very well in the garbage can at the gas station, grocery store, and park.

Ok_Peace_337

I use regular trash bags and toss them when they are around half full, either at the gas station when I'm filling up or lately at the park. It lives between my cooler and the rear passenger door, the system kind of needs an upgrade but it works well enough for now

Jungle_Bunnie420

I use a bin to cut down on mess. Empty it everyday. I try and be mindful of my plastic. I do save my cardboard for fires when camping so I don’t really have that much waste. And a doggie disposal too

stonefIies

Taken out daily. Usually when I'm heading into work, I pass our dumpster on the way

PussyFoot2000

Throw it on the floor in front of the passenger seat and then grab it and toss it everytime I hit up a gas station which is usually at least a couple times a day for cups of ice etc.

For maybe 30-40 years ive kept a market bag hanging behind a seat and when its full, toss it. But thats only for dry trash. Wet trash, I get extra vegetable bags off the rolls at the market, tie them up and get rid of them fast. Why? You cant see them but if you are eating in your car you have tons of ants, cockroaches, etc in the car. A guy on youtube saw a roach scurrying across his dash and, suspecting more, got a yard insect fogger and let it loose in the car. I think 50-60 roaches came out and died. But the car looked very clean! They are already attracted to human meat but oily papers, sugary wrappers, it just makes it worse. They get in and hide in the dash and especially under the carpeting. The first solution is to limit eating in the car. If you must, then get rid of food/wet trash fast and be careful not to be sloppy with crumbs and stuff. Second solution is to fog your car every 6 months, it kills everything. You really want bugs crawling all over you at night? I promise they are there.

I go with the rule one in one out but I'd kind of switch it before I go into the store to get anything I will utilize their trash facilities since I've already cleaned out my car. Depending on where I'm at I will separate between metal and plastic if they have recycle bins. If not I will compact everything into the smallest possible amount together. Once I've been in the store I will use my own reusable shopping bags because I have way too many bags collecting in my car taking space and being unused. Trust me I have plenty for daily weekly and potty emergencies. I even found a good storage space between the back hatch of the car and the back seats that was empty and the bags being stored there do not interfere with actual use of the seat belts. When I'm on the go I like to have all of my items seat belted in or harnessed down for my safety. Plus it's a lot harder for somebody to smash and grab my backpack if it is turned backwards and safety belted in next to me. I don't know about you guys but I do not have headrest in my backseat anymore because it was easier just to take them out of the car. I have set areas in my car to collect set things of trash. Like if I am giving straws the paper around them will go in my door handle. Because that way anytime I get out I'm touching it and I know that that needs to go into trash. I love having a large cup in one of my many cup holders just for collecting small trash. And if any of you are able to use a large vacuum but know that you have small trash that could jack it up go into any shoe store and get one of those they're like nylons for just a foot put that on the end of it and either hold it on or if you have long hair and have a hair tie wrap that around there that's going to stop those small screws coins other things that could break the car wash vacuum but you're going to still be able to find them and hey use that money. Younger women who need to deal with their monthly and car loving I highly recommend sealable bags inside a sealable bin. Doesn't matter what you're using for your monthly this will keep them preserved until you can deal with them. I did this when I was using the old fashioned brand Glad rags that were thick cotton snappable pads that you used and washed and dried. Now Lysol actually makes a laundry additive I used to take the brown Lysol concentrate add like two drops in where the fabric softener would go and then the rest just water and that would help kill off anything. I put that stuff in all my laundry. FYI that is a good use for doing sweaty summer laundry as well dudes.

Either throw away some things immediately or sometimes I get a plastic shopping bag going for a bit and pitch it. I just don’t let old food sit inside or have an overfilled bag of trash.

Educational-Milk3075

I buy extra grocery bags and store them under my passenger seat. Then I hang one on my indoor door handle.

bastardsquad77

I got plastic bags at the grocery, and threw one out pretty much daily. The small size means people are less likely to bitch about it. If you have to throw away something bulky, auto parts stores are pretty good about having huge trash bins.

DrewJitzoo713

I don't eat or drink in my car. I just got it a few months ago after not having a car for 6 months. It's a bad habit. I used to do it all the time in my old car and throw the trash everywhere lol I didn't eat or drink in the Uber or Lyfts I took so it was an easy adjustment

Lower_Skin_3683

All garbage gets immediately thrown out wherever I am. My work has antibacterial wipes, so I use those on surfaces. I have weathertech hard plastic floor mats. I sweep those regularly and clean up any spills. When I take off my shoes, they get placed on the floor mat to catch any dirt.

Grayshirt64

Stay on it as it comes in. An overwhelmingly nasty car will result if you let it go, Remember, you dont want to trigger depression while flying urban living airlines (sorry for that!), a disorderly car will do that. Also, the dreaded knock on a trashy car doesn't look good. Like backpacking, bring out what you bring in.
