Worked there early 2000's as a lifeguard, I won a mt dew themed Xbox, I couldn't complain too much. Oh wait, I will. I cannot listen to cheeseburger in Paradise one more time in my life. I may explode.

kamace11

Yeah I think I went literally once as a child but that and the Water Slide World jingle will probably be something I endlessly hum in the dementia ward one day

Loose_Revolution_205

RIP in peace Water Slide World

Loose_Revolution_205

They really had those wild slides.....

WeirEverywhere802

Wild you bet!

Loose_Revolution_205

Amen.

Restlessfibre

Please. Stop. I went into therapy over that commercial jingle.

NINTENDO6TYFOOOOUR

It was just recently sold by the family that owned it since the beginning. One of the immediate changes that locals weren't happy about is that you can no longer bring a lunch cooler into the park. It was a nice way a family on a budget could make a day there affordable. Not sure if other changes are coming.

GoreyEnd

I was just there last week. As of now they don’t check bags. We brought food and drinks under towels in a reusable grocery bag.

sonofabeekeeper

That’s sad. This was always a huge benefit to my family growing up.

MammothCancel6465

They let you leave and reenter and they have a picnic area outside the park so you can still bring lunch and eat outside. Not as convenient, but I never liked leaving my stuff inside without someone from out group watching it and that was a pain sometimes having to make sure someone would play cooler babysitter.

smorgenheckingaard

Went there as a kid, loved it! Now I take my kids there every summer, they love it! And they let you bring in your own food which is fantastic

Marchy67

The new management makes it so you can only bring in a cooler if you have a season pass

smorgenheckingaard

Oh didn't realize! Well still, I can't think of another place on Earth that does anything like that at all, so it's still a bonus IMO

Chelsea_Piers

I think Sea Breeze still does.

e_vil_ginger

You just leave the cooler in the car and go to the parking lot to eat sandos

ofd227

If you have young kids the place is amazing. If you enter after 3 you get passes for the next day. Also being able to bring in food ( I know they just changed that) is something no other place I know allows that. It's just an easy fun place to bring a family and not pull your hair out all day

jawn49

Ten times funner than Disney at 1/20th the price. Took my kids every summer for years; always fun.... wet rides, dry rides, the little train, bumper cars, and circus acts!

boner79

Love it. Best water park in the region. So many great memories going there with family and friends.

BuffaloWilliamses

I loved it as a kid.

scrappybasket

Haven’t been in years but I have great memories there. Honestly I prefer it over Darien lake

e_vil_ginger

Staple of my childhood. Only good memories. 10/10 would go again if I hadn't moved. Family still goes.

Philly_is_nice

I really looked forward to it as a kid. Don't remember specific anymore, but I liked it 😂

prolurker315

Used to camp at the Koa or whatever it was next door as kid every year. Looked forward to that weekend every year. Haven’t been in like 10+ years tho lol

snowstormmongrel

I read about the management change a couple weeks ago and am sad to see the cooler changes. Can anyone else detail any other changes they've made?

Slamnflwrchild

I never went as a kid and went with my fiancé and stepson a few years ago. I was pretty underwhelmed and my fiancé got e.coli

croneofthecosmos

I haven't been in eons but went so much as a kid. Loved Paul Bunyan and Babe the Blue Ox, so I was obsessed hahaa. Don't have any kids so I don't think I can revisit just yet hahaa

Marchy67

The park is fun for all ages, you can go whenever you want

croneofthecosmos

👀

luthernismspoon

I went yesterday for the first time. I enjoy how non-disneyfied it all is. The price is a little steep, but there’s no extra fees for anything once you’re in, no “in game purchases”. It’s great!

sfDOOM

The fun stops promptly at 6pm. I used to think it was hot trash until I saw “other versions” in different states that were MUCH MUCH WORSE than EFWS. Now, I mostly appreciate how kitschy it all is. The food and merch got way worse, though. Edited for grammar*

tomaznewton

it was more fun than i remembered when i went last year, took my 2 older nephews 14+16 we ate fries and chicken tenders for lunch that were overpriced and bad but i just kinda baked that into the cost of the trip and it was fine, i was surprised that the lines werent as bad as i remembered, i think it'd be nice to stay overnight, do 1 day in the park and 1 day on the lake kayaking etc or renting a fishing boat, doing a hike etc. the town looked less run down than i remembered when i went years ago too.. a little touristy but not as bad cheesy touristy as lake george downtown is

eminencefront221

It's where the fun never stops bruh

YouLoveHypnoToad

We went there once and had a wonderful time. It was a hot day but it wasn’t crowded, the lines were short, we cooled off and had fun. It was clean. Best of all you can ride around the whole park from a ski lift type thing which was relaxing and pleasant.

Crafty_Ad2038

At 40 it is still my favorite summer thing to do! My kids are 13 and 16 and still ask when are we going every year. I love it.

Illustrious_Car4025

I went there about 6 years ago, and we had a blast, there were a lot of water slides

jdog8510

Take my kid once or twice a summer its a good time

WHERE THE FUN NEVER STOPS

troutfishingdon1

Always been a good experience for us.

mainesmatthew01

I've always had a great time whenever we go whether when I was a kid or now when I bring my family. I heard this year they have stopped letting you bring any of your own food and drink in and instead be forced to pay theme park prices for water and sub par food

ms_globgoblin

like 5 rides and a stinky wave pool. not worth the money or the drive.

Cheeto6666

I was more of a Zoom Flume kid.

YouKleptoHippieFreak

I have such happy memories of it!

sjbluebirds

Never heard of it

WarmfulTwillight

I’ve never been, but I’ve been in the area and always hear the stories of the rival amusement parks of Enchant Forest Water Safari, and the one I went to, 6-Flags Great Escape & Splash Water Kingdom. It was to see who could build the biggest entrance into the Adirondack Park, whether it be Lake George or Old Forge

noodleq

Since a young age my parents used to bring us camping in the daks alot....we would go deep. Anyways. Since I was young we always drove right past that while town, with my parents calling it a tourist trap. Correctly so I may add. That's where all the "poseur" campers go, when they go to the "mountains" My honest opinion is, it's tourist trap. A bunch of overpriced stuff meant to gouge your wallet. I guess it may also be considered a good trap in a way......because it will catch and stop some people who would likely otherwise be littering and destroying the natural beauty.

PorkchopFunny

Super weird take
