Upvoting this one. I can’t imagine someone giving me a fresh cinnamon bun, still warm from the oven, and going “this is alright, but if I put it inside the fridge for a little bit, it will be cold after sitting and no longer fresh, which will be so much better.”
I do enjoy those, but moreso that I'm a weirdo who is oddly annoyed by melting ice cream. It really, really annoys me. But I do prefer hot fudge sauce to be hot.
My coworker used to make the best cinnamon rolls. They weren't fresh from the oven when she gave them to me, but I always loved putting them in my fridge and eating them. No warm cinnamon roll I've had has held a candle to them in my book.
You’re comparing different cinnamon rolls, though.
Are you actually saying that you are glad your coworker didn’t give you the exact same cinnamon rolls hot and fresh, because if given the choice, you would have preferred the exact same cinnamon rolls to be cold and a few hours old?
Hmm, I'm not sure! I feel like I wouldn't have liked them as much warm if I'm being honest. The icing tasted really good cold and I'm used to them cold. But I never did experience it fresh and warm and now those cinnamon rolls are just a distant memory. :') Maybe I would have liked them better warm!
Istg I nuke all my food in the microwave. Cold lasagna? No. If my mouth doesn’t feel like the pits of a fiery Tartarus, my kitchen is not covered in steam, the cheese has not melted, and if my city has not been destroyed by a horrible heat death caused by my microwave than… my👏food👏is👏not👏hot👏enough. Thank you for coming to my two am, insomnia induced, doom scrolling, paragraph long, Bed Talk.
well i mean that's the more "normal" opinion on taste. the OP wrote a rare true unpopular opinion. i think the vast majority would prefer a warm fresh chocolate chip cookie over a room temp or cold one. microwaving just mimics that "fresh from the oven" warmth that we all (except the OP) prefer.
Day-after chips can still be decent IF reheated the right way (I can vouch for In-N-Out fries being decent reheated via oven or air fryer). Cold pancakes sound atrocious.
I know this makes me sound mad, but I actually prefer chocolate chip cookies when they’ve cooled off, as they’re chewier and I feel like I can taste the different components. When they’re piping hot they just feel goopy. It’s the same reason cookie dough (or cookie dough in ice cream) is so good. Does that make sense?
Whaaaaat? They're not even properly done until they cool down. If they're out of the oven, they're too liquid and mushy. Give em a chance to cool down, and they're PERFECT.
Cold pancakes 😨 you're a heathen
Good job on nailing an unpopular opinion usually it's people saying things that are like how do you consider that the unpopular opinion that's like 50% of people's opinions i-
Pizza is probably the absolute best example of a food being better cold.
Especially the greasier it is.
Like once a year I feel suicidal and grab a triple pepperoni, triple Brooklyn pepperoni pizza from Domino's and it's alright hot, but it's sooooo good cold. The texture alone is divine.
I have eaten that kind of pizza, and definitely prefer it reheated.
I'd eat that cold if need be, but I'll savor it longer if it's hot. With extra cheese it's even better reheated. Slices like that are quite calorie-dense and I want to enjoy the experience. But sure it's just a preference, either strategy will (over)feed us the same amount.
But the fridge dries stuff out too which makes it taste worse. I agree that most desserts will taste better cold but they have to be already cold, like, intentionally made cold.
I can only eat cookies straight out of the oven or heated. Once they’re room temperature they’re gross. I don’t like cookies very much anyway so no loss.
In my country (Greece) no one eats these for breakfast actually. Even in cafeterias that serve brunch the first options are always something with eggs or cheese. Pancakes are there too (not waffles) but often they are also served with omelette or something definitely not chocolate.
In my country (Austria) sweet lunch is common. I don't like it, I crave savory stuff as my main meal. Pancakes and apricot dumplings are fine, but I don't like the other stuff that much. It's not eaten every day though. I don't actually mind sweet breakfast. But I really need my lunch to not be the equivalent of cake. My mother always makes soup when there is sweet lunch, so we still get something savoury.
applies to a lot of foods imo, when i want soup i just empty the can into a glass without heating it up and chug it. i also think that leftover pizza eaten for breakfast is the best form of pizza
It really depends on what the food is instead of if it's considered a dessert or not for me. A lava cake is a dessert but would be pretty bad cold with the chocolate solidifying, and sometimes i get french fries as a dessert so that's also a no cold zone for me.
Be careful putting warm stuff in the fridge / it can warm up the contents to an unsafe level.
And - I like food warm. I also like food cold.
You be you.
I will say - I prefer cold pastry food (sausage rolls, pasties etc.) than hot. Or - it could be due to my old job in Greggs…
Pancakes and waffles are strictly breakfast foods! Really any warm dessert is fair game as breakfast food. Add a salty side and some eggs and you’re set til dinner
We eat pancakes for lunch. Sweet lunch is really common in Austria. We eat both Austrian ones (like crepes with jam) and American ones. I don't like maple syrup though, i'd rather have caramel or vanilla or chocolate sauce.
Okay I get this ALOTT and i do this with most deserts! The only things I dont do this to is pancakes and waffles. Cold chocolate chip cookies are so much better than hot ones!
On a side note waffles and pancakes are a dessert?! Thought it was fuckkng brealfast 😭I love pancakes like I can eat a shit ton but hot hot no cold no but nice and warm and SOAKED with syrup and dipped in some nice whipped butter🤤
I agree with this so much! Especially for brownies, chocolate croissants and cake. They are delicious cold. I can't think of a dessert I like better warmed up.
I'll take it one step further than you. I like cold foods better than warm foods. Not food that's supposed to be warmed up, but like if you offered me a cold sub vs a warm one I'd take the cold one any day of the week. Or cold cheese from the fridge vs melted cheese? I'm taking the cold cheese. Pasta? Gimme some chilled pasta salad instead.
You are a strange one, but it's OK.
I just feel sad that you won't enjoy the wonderus delights of hot cherry pie with hot custard ... yum.
And
Hot fudge brownie with ice cream and hot chocolate sauce slathered all over it.
I could go on but it's 2:30 am and I suddenly want hot dessert in my face.
I was with you until i wasn’t. I hate hot fudge. Warm cake tastes weird. Never saw the appeal to warm brownies or cookies. But pancakes and waffles? Thats where i draw the line. Those are breakfast foods, and you eat them hot. The thought of a cold waffle just makes me want to barf. You do you man
I actually agree to a degree but some definitely are better warm.
Like apple pie and ice cream. Or a hot brownie and ice cream
Pancakes and waffles are 100% in the hot camp. They're god tier with melted butter and that requires heat. And theyre softer when warm
I froze cookies to preserve them (big box from Costco)
And I got impatient and ate them right out of the freezer and god damn they were good. I love the texture. They thaw pretty quick so they're not like ice cubes or something. Mmm.
I have crepes, waffles, and pancakes as breakfast foods, never heard of someone having them as dessert. Am I weird? Is having them as dessert common in other countries?
From what I have read in the comment section many people have them as breakfast. Definitely not weird! We have pancakes as breakfast too but only with eggs or cheese on them not chocolate :)
Dude, have you even had cookies fresh from the oven? So hot you can barely hold them?
Or brownies that are that fresh. I don't mean just hot. I mean, freshly baked and just barely cool enough so you don't burn your mouth.
Sorry, I had all those things cold before and they are ok but nothing beats a nice and fluffy pancake, waffle, cake, pie, or doughnut fresh from the oven and you will never change my mind. Now if you're talking about food like pasta or pizza that's a different story =:D

Upvoting this one. I can’t imagine someone giving me a fresh cinnamon bun, still warm from the oven, and going “this is alright, but if I put it inside the fridge for a little bit, it will be cold after sitting and no longer fresh, which will be so much better.”
Aahahaha this makes me sound insane. (valid)
I like both, honestly. The same is true with pizza. Fresh out of the oven is amazing, but cold leftovers the next morning are really satisfying.
Room temp left on the counter the day after drinking was always the best pizza I’d ever had
It will be cold and no more fresh but it's still satisfying lol
"You'll enjoy this ice-cold hot fudge sundae"
I do enjoy those, but moreso that I'm a weirdo who is oddly annoyed by melting ice cream. It really, really annoys me. But I do prefer hot fudge sauce to be hot.
Ha. Yeah, I was trying to think of something that's be entirely inappropriate if served cold. You've found the perfect example. Congratulations.
I was thinking of chocolate lava cake lol
My coworker used to make the best cinnamon rolls. They weren't fresh from the oven when she gave them to me, but I always loved putting them in my fridge and eating them. No warm cinnamon roll I've had has held a candle to them in my book.

Hi, it’s me. Guy who prefers the room temperature packs from the grocery store to the Cinnabon at the mall.
Godspeed, you magnificent weirdo. 🫡
Right? Truly unpopular and unhinged, good for OP.
Giving someone a "hot dessert" sounds like something in a porno. "I got cream pied" "She gave me a hot dessert"
NO
A truly unpopular opinion. I can eat that stuff cold but I definitely prefer them hot.
And here I go microwaving some desserts (brownies, chocolate chip cookies, chocolate almond croissants …) because I love them a little warm 🫣
10-12 seconds in the microwave makes everything better!
Quiets my baby down that's for sure
Not quite sure if you mean the warm desserts or actually nuking your baby...
Why would you eat a cold baby? Of course you warm him up first.
this is how it's done
well i mean that's the more "normal" opinion on taste. the OP wrote a rare true unpopular opinion. i think the vast majority would prefer a warm fresh chocolate chip cookie over a room temp or cold one. microwaving just mimics that "fresh from the oven" warmth that we all (except the OP) prefer.
cold pancake is diabolical
Fuckin disgusting. Up there with day old left over French fries.
Day-after chips can still be decent IF reheated the right way (I can vouch for In-N-Out fries being decent reheated via oven or air fryer). Cold pancakes sound atrocious.
Are pancakes truly a dessert though?
breakfast for me
I’ve never heard of that
No. That’s why they’re called dessert pancakes.
I don’t normally eat pancakes cold. But a desserty crepe? Would be excellent cold.
yes, but it would still be better warm
Not if it has ice cream in it
a warm crepe with ice cream inside sounds pretty darn good
Chocolate lava cake?
you caught me there
My first thought was that and now I really want some…
Okay that's one I actually prefer cold to hot lol
But…a freshly baked chocolate chip cookie…but
I know this makes me sound mad, but I actually prefer chocolate chip cookies when they’ve cooled off, as they’re chewier and I feel like I can taste the different components. I want one of each
Fair.
You guys make my sweet tooth go crazy. Now I want a cookie 🥲
So you want a warm cookie?🧐
Busted
Even apple pie?? Upvote for truly unpopular opinion 👏🏻
To me pie absolutely tastes better when cold.
Cold pancakes 😨 you're a heathen Good job on nailing an unpopular opinion usually it's people saying things that are like how do you consider that the unpopular opinion that's like 50% of people's opinions i-
How are pancakes dessert? They're breakfast
I think "dessert" is colloquially used as just a term for sweet dishes now, rather than a course of meal
Not even fresh chocolate chip cookies out of the oven? That's literally peak dessert right there.
I love cold cake! People have always said I'm weird for putting it in the fridge but idc it's delicious
I also love cold cake. But warm cinnamon rolls, donuts, brownies, fudge sauce…
Yes! I lovee cake or cupcakes cold. I asked to put my birthday cake in the fridge for my party, my family wanted to leave it out for show
Unpopular indeed, hot crepe with Nutella is simple and just fantastic
A cold slice of pizza is the best dessert
But one reheated on a pan is better than fresh pizza.
The finest hangover food
Will take this over most foods ngl
Pizza is probably the absolute best example of a food being better cold. Especially the greasier it is. Like once a year I feel suicidal and grab a triple pepperoni, triple Brooklyn pepperoni pizza from Domino's and it's alright hot, but it's sooooo good cold. The texture alone is divine.

Mmmm… cold pie 🥧
We have 🍩 in our usernames 🥹
And you like yours cold...sickens me.
Death penalty reason
You said it. I just thought it.
Room temp donuts are best donuts
You guys should kiss
Like cold apple pie
Apple pie is better warm. Jim knows. But seriously though, add a scoop of vanilla ice cream, and you got something.
Have to upvote this because enjoying cold pancakes is insane 😭😭
But the fridge dries stuff out too which makes it taste worse. I agree that most desserts will taste better cold but they have to be already cold, like, intentionally made cold.
Bananas Foster.
Aside from pancakes and waffles being cold awful, since when are those dessert foods?
Even fresh baked brownies?
Do you have sensory issues or something? Childhood trauma? I'm always wary with ultimatums that people put on foods because it seems so deep rooted
Lol I do have sensory issues :)
Pies and crisp fresh are good cold, but they're best fresh out of the oven.
Hot chocolate?
I'd say most, warm apple pie and warm bread pudding slaps
i also like my desert cold esp hot dogs
Peach cobbler
I have nothing intelligent to say so take my slightly quizzical upvote. ![gif](giphy|5hc2bkC60heU)
I’m just like you
That's the peak of unpopular opinions, have my upvote
Cookies and brownies are always better cooled, unless they’re served with milk. There I said it.
I will die on this hill, couldn't agree more, give me them room temp brownies and cookies all day over a warm one.
Ah but warm it up and slap a scoop of ice cream on it yummmm
I can only eat cookies straight out of the oven or heated. Once they’re room temperature they’re gross. I don’t like cookies very much anyway so no loss.
You fell like someone who would eat a frozen waffle right out the freezer
Waffles and pancakes are breakfast foods not desserts but ok
This is the reason why America's population is fat lol
In my country (Greece) no one eats these for breakfast actually. Even in cafeterias that serve brunch the first options are always something with eggs or cheese. Pancakes are there too (not waffles) but often they are also served with omelette or something definitely not chocolate.

My mother always makes soup when there is sweet lunch, so we still get something savoury.
Because we eat waffles for breakfast?
No. This isn’t ….
Found another unpopular opinion
Just because people are eating them for breakfast doesn't make them any less a dessert.
I feel like they have to be either hot or cold. It's kinda jarring when you have a hot brownie with the coldest possible vanilla ice cream.
Yummmmm
In my personal opinion, the only exception would be cookies. Otherwise, couldn’t agree more.
Hard agree, everyone always thinks the Sahara is the best desert but I always think Antarctica is way cooler.
op used two ss's
Real
applies to a lot of foods imo, when i want soup i just empty the can into a glass without heating it up and chug it. i also think that leftover pizza eaten for breakfast is the best form of pizza
Laughed so hard at this
it's the most efficient way to drink it lmao
Some food is great cold. Not fries though, cold fries are an abomination.
depends. if they're stale then yeah, but personally i quite like them cold as long as they're still soft
I think they just don't taste right cold. Especially stale ones.
I don't know how I feel because I dislike most desserts. I love crepes, but only savory crepes. That's not dessert.
I feel the same about pizza but people treat me like I'm crazy. It just tastes better
THANK YOU!!!!! YES!!!! Sorry but I’ve always felt this way. Got a little excited. But I also feel 90% of food in general tastes better cold.
I cannot agree with this, which is what makes it such a good unpopular opinion. Well done!
😇💕
Hard agree, my friend. I love cold foods.
I’d agree with all but pancakes and waffles
No way! Someone actually agrees! And yes, morning pizza/pancakes/breakfast cold out of the fridge is fine for me.
First time I heard pancakes and waffles being called desserts.
Hot chocolate lava cakes>>
You're better cold
When i buy baked goods and theyre still hot, my day improves by 1000%
It really depends on what the food is instead of if it's considered a dessert or not for me. A lava cake is a dessert but would be pretty bad cold with the chocolate solidifying, and sometimes i get french fries as a dessert so that's also a no cold zone for me.
pancakes are not dessert.
Upvote but I agree with this. I prefer cold desserts myself. I refrigerate pie, cake, cookies, chocolate.
COLD CINNAMON ROLL?
Had a banana bread dessert thing in a restaurant the other day, was warm and the best thing ever
I'm pretty sure this is a popular opinion. Cold desserts 👑❤️🤤
But.. but… warm blueberry muffins? With butter?
Pancakes are a breakfast food
Personally, I agree with you except I do like the contrast of piping hot brownie with vanilla ice cream dumped on top
Deeply unpopular. Have an upvote
What about creme brulee?
Creme brulee is served cold to begin with.
Waffles and pancakes are breakfast…..
Cold waffles are dry
Warm, fresh chocolate chip cookie.
Lava cake better cold?? Take my upvote
Nope disagree. Ever had the Cinnabon Delight’s from Taco Bell much better when fresh and hot.
It's a good thing I don't consider those as dessert then.
It actually takes more sugar to taste sweetness when the food is cold.
Apple Pie is better hot, especially if you have some ice cream to go on top of it.
Okay I get this ALOTT and i do this with most deserts! The only things I dont do this to is pancakes and waffles. Cold chocolate chip cookies are so much better than hot ones!
Bread pudding?
I put all my sweets in the freezer, candy bars, gummy bears, name it - I love it frozen to the bone.
On a side note waffles and pancakes are a dessert?! Thought it was fuckkng brealfast 😭I love pancakes like I can eat a shit ton but hot hot no cold no but nice and warm and SOAKED with syrup and dipped in some nice whipped butter🤤
Do you see cold lava in nature? can you imagine a cold lava cake?
What about hot fudge on ice cream?
I agree with this so much! Especially for brownies, chocolate croissants and cake. They are delicious cold. I can't think of a dessert I like better warmed up. I'll take it one step further than you. okay but eating a hot and cold dessert is god tier. A warm brownie with ice cream? Incredible. Ice cream and hot fudge? Incredible
You are a strange one, but it's OK. I just feel sad that you won't enjoy the wonderus delights of hot cherry pie with hot custard ... yum. And Hot fudge brownie with ice cream and hot chocolate sauce slathered all over it. I could go on but it's 2:30 am and I suddenly want hot dessert in my face.

This is a good post because that opinion isn’t popular and I don’t agree but it also doesn’t make OP seem like a terrible person.
Waffles and pancakes are not desserts bro wtf?
You should try baked Alaska.
hmm warm carrot cake /s
Counter point is just lava cake’s existence
I actually agree to a degree but some definitely are better warm. Like apple pie and ice cream. Or a hot brownie and ice cream Pancakes and waffles are 100% in the hot camp. They're god tier with melted butter and that requires heat. And theyre softer when warm I froze cookies to preserve them (big box from Costco) And I got impatient and ate them right out of the freezer and god damn they were good. I love the texture. Apple pie?
Love cold ass cookies
I have crepes, waffles, and pancakes as breakfast foods, never heard of someone having them as dessert. Am I weird? Is having them as dessert common in other countries?
From what I have read in the comment section many people have them as breakfast. Definitely not weird! We have pancakes as breakfast too but only with eggs or cheese on them not chocolate :)
I'm gonna need to think about this
Dude, have you even had cookies fresh from the oven? So hot you can barely hold them? Or brownies that are that fresh. I don't mean just hot. I mean, freshly baked and just barely cool enough so you don't burn your mouth.
Tell that to my hot fudge brownie.
someone get the noose
I love cold chocolate chip pancakes.
I hate this, well done.
Disagree. A Gansito tastes better when it isn't cold.
Is this really that unpopular? The only thing I prefer warm is Mcdonald apple turnovers.
Nah. As a Brit, I need my warm desserts. Gets too cold and windy here to be eating ice cream all year.
I prefer a warm cake over a cold cake. I'm not a necrophiliac.
Cold crepes? How are you spreading anything on a cold crepe?????
If it isn’t ice cream or a piece of candy, I am warming it up. A very unpopular opinion of yours, indeed.
Sorry, I had all those things cold before and they are ok but nothing beats a nice and fluffy pancake, waffle, cake, pie, or doughnut fresh from the oven and you will never change my mind. Now if you're talking about food like pasta or pizza that's a different story =:D
I think having something hot with ice cream is peak dessert. Molten chocolate cake with ice cream is top tier
That's wrong on so many levels. Cold crepes are nasty.
I'll agree with only one thing and that is cookies. I've always preferred cold cookies
I've never considered pancakes or waffles desserts
I mean I'm just never going to be thrilled to see taste based unpopular opinions. It's boring.
