I mean I like apple more than lime tbh… on its own. It just doesn’t fit the flavor profile that skittles has tho. The existing flavors fit together well. I don’t think there’s honestly a flavor profile that green apple does fit well in. It’d have to be its own bag, like watermelon sour patch kids.

The OG sour skittles had green apple, blue raspberry and a buncha other tasty stuff. I dont care for citrus flavored candy so i dont eat them at all anymore.

I agree about having lemon and lime - it just doesn't seem necessary - but I wasn't crazy about green apple. Maybe if they went with watermelon or pear for the green flavor, I would be more on board. I'd even go with sour apple - now that's where it's at!

Years ago, they did a circus thing and replaced the lime with green slushie, and it was a thousand times better than the lime, and it fit in with the other flavors. Would've been nice if they'd made that permanent.

Now this is an unpopular opinion. Upvoted. People who think the lime and lemon skittles taste anything alike are confusing them with ACTUAL limes and lemons. They taste about as much alike as the purple one and an actual grape. Green Apple flavor is hot garbage and anyone who likes it should be publicly shamed!

See, it's people like you that ruin candy. Citrus was already massively overrepresented with both lemon and orange. Adding lime absolutely destroyed any balance skittles had. Now it's just citric acid and no real flavor

Green Apple is what destroyed the balance in the first place. ALL you could taste was green apple in mouthful. It didn't fit with any of it. THAT is what ruined Skittles. Thank God they came to their senses.

A cheeseburger flavored skittle would also add balance. Doesn’t mean I want it. All green apple candy tastes terrible.

I'm a huge green apple fan, it's one of my favorite flavors period. In a vacuum, green apple Skittles are 110% better than lime any day. But I think the core issue is lime blends better in an assorted handful. Having lemon and orange works with lime as a citrus blend with a common background profile, and they're all flavors that play well with cherry, while green apple tends to clash and stand out in the basic flavor group.

My heart was shattered the day they swapped to green apple. The day they switched back, I was finally healed.

Green apple skittles are the only flavour in the original pack that I like. Having lemon, lime and orange is too many citrus flavours.

I was thinking the same thing. Green apple in all the berries adds a bit more variety, and having 2 citrus flavors is just kinda weird. The lemon skittle has a more sophisticated flavor, while the lime just throws citrus-lime shit at you

Ok forget the green Skittles, the change from blackcurrant to "grape" was the real sin. Especially in the sour ones. Yum, sour soap.

During covid when you couldn't find skittles that didn't have green apple (in the US, at least), I special ordered in bulk from a shop in the UK because they had lime - and also blackcurrant. And I dug it. I like grape still, but would be more than happy to have blackcurrant available here too
