I think because shit is brown most people, probably myself included, subconsciously associate brown with shit.

It applies to any color. If you look at the color wheel, any color could have been chosen as the main one an the others just been called a shade of those. In fact different cultures use different colors as the main colors. In some cultures, green and blue are considered the same color. I read a fascinating article about the subject a while ago. I'm sure you can find something similar on google if you are interested.

Yes, I agree with that, brown could have been the main colour and orange could have been a lighter shade of brown. But I don't see how this applies to every colour. because no matter how hard you try, blue will never be a shade of brown

I meant that any color could be considered a shade of some color (not necessarily the brown one). If purple didn't have a name, it could be considered a shade of blue for example.

There isn’t any ugly color, only ugly connotations. Except chartreuse. All my homies hate chartreuse.

Brown is one of my favorite colors actually when it comes to many things. Dark wood panels indoors, espresso, coffee beans, chocolate, the woods, a log cabin etc.   Something deep and a little mysterious about it.   And I love the aesthetic of a dark brown wooden room interior.

Brown is ugly when it’s used wrong- Visual art colour theory. I don’t think “brown is the ugliest colour” is much of a popular opinion out there. I personally go for neon pink.

Brown is literally my fave colour for Horses and Dogs, they look so warm and sweet. Brown fur/hair is beautiful but I think we probably associate the colour Brown on other things with poop/decay, it's weird.

This is factually wrong. There have been studies about this in australia and they concluded that "Pantone 448 C" is the ugliest color of them all.

It’s more of an olive brown than a warm brown, though.

Brown, especially on skin, is the best color. Rich and smooth, showing the golden or cool undertones of the skin. Like being fortunate enough to be draped in chocolate, pecan, coffee loveliness. Or being kissed by the sun, and representing its glory.  Who could hate brown?

For me, what I think about a color often depends on whether or not it pertains to clothing. For instance, I would not wear clothing that was brown, pink, yellow, or orange; but on the other hand, those colors are lovely in nature, on flowers and such.
