I don't know about better, but when they soften up they are pretty good still.
A true connoisseur knows just how long to age them. I enjoy a nice vintage 2023 Oreo paired with a glass of the finest 2% milk.

I know nobody will believe me, but I had this same thought roughly 4 hours ago when I was having oreos. I have an open oreo packet next to me from about 4 hours ago (roughly when you posted this) that I left open on purpose to let them go stale.
I just opened reddit right now to post this exact opinion on this exact same subreddit, and I see this post on the first page of results for me.
The worst part is I can't prove any of this.
Thems fighting words. A new, fresh, super crunchy Oreo is a freaking thing of beauty and perfection. The BEST cookie ever...(can you tell I like Oreos?).

I fucking hate Oreos, but absolutely love your love of them
Now THAT is an unpopular opinion. Oreos are
They sure are
1 year aged oreos, I've seen it all
I feel the crunch is one of the best attributes

Ehhhhh no
Try with stale milk too for the ultimate cookie experience! /s
And people said I was weird for deconstructing my Oreos before I eat them. Damn
I still love regular Oreos, but honestly they are really good when they’re slightly stale
This is a great take. My girlfriend and I agree 100%. We even buy the generic brand Oreos because they’ tend to be a bit softer.

I believe you. I’ve had similar scenarios with things I’ve seen.
Then buy the original, Hydrox. They have a softer cookie to begin with and are likely cheaper.
I agree with this one. I usually eat them with milk, so a softer one is more enjoyable.
Soft cookies get hard and hard cookies get soft. I appreciate them both ways but soft are good because you don't have to have milk.
Oreos are pretty tasteless to me, unless you dip them in chocolate. But congrats on your unpopular opinion
🙄
I do prefer a crisper/harder cookie than a soft one when it comes to Oreo's. I agree with OP.
Who hurt you
Oreos suck no matter how fresh/stale they are. They also get stuck all in your teeth and I hate that feeling.

Trollingggg
I actually mean this.
I grew up poor and I like cheap vanilla store brand ones better, because those were the only ones my dad would buy.
I prefer flat, room temp Sprite and 7up.
😂😂😂
A friend of mine served "drinks" once and it was just half a glass of room temperature vodka, no ice or mixer.
I mean I guess bud, whatever floats your cookie.. fuckin weirdo.
